    Welcome to Kitchener. This is my first attempt at a City Journal here with Simtropolis. I have been a part of this for quite awhile and decided that I would give it a go. This whole process started when I decided that I wanted to put in a bid for this years Simlympics. Although I did not get the nod I am continuing on with my City with the hopes that maybe, just maybe, Kitchener will be worthy of hosting the Simlympics in the future. Here we go: Please click on the links below to find out about the City of Kitchener Welcome to Kitchener. Kitchener is located in the United States of North America (USNA). The USNA is a relatively new country by most standards. Forming in the year 2036 when The United States of America, Canada and Baja California decided to form one country. The capital of the USNA is Marshalton. Distance from Marshalton to Kitchener: 643 miles (8 hours 13 minutes driving / 1 hour 27 minutes flying). USNA Information: Currancy - USNA Dollar (as of 12:32 GMT 07.26.43 $1.00 USNA = $17.23 Euro) Population - 134,890,221 (July 2042) Sectors - 15 with Regional Capitals (Portmouth largest - Kitchener smallest) Largest Sector - Sacremento (579,326 square miles) Unit of Measure - Inches, Feet, Yards, Oz., Lbs Import - $167 Trillion (1. Electronic Components - $63 Billion) Export - $357 Trillion (1. Produce - $113.6 Billion) As of July 26, 2043 Kitchener is the Regional Capital for the Northeast Sector of the USNA. As of the last consensus in 2042 Kitcheners Population was 157,369 including all outlying areas within a 30 minute drive to the City Center. By comparison of the other 14 Regional Capitals, Kitchener ranks last in population (1. Portmouth - 14,456,112). What to do in Kitchener? If you love sports you're in the right spot! With professional, college, and amatuer sports throughout the city, Kitchener offers something for everyone. Kitchener is currently in the planning stage to host a future Simlympics. Please stop by and see our progress. North Kitchener Future Updates to Follow! South Kitchener Future Updates to Follow! Kitchener International Airport Kitchener is currently ramping up for hosting of a future Simlympics and have recently accquired over $420 Million USNA Dollars in Private funding as well as $180 Million in federal and sector funding for venues and infrastructure. Kitchener Regional Airport is fully functional (above picture) and will be used for additional flights after Kitchener International Airport (K.I.A.) and Transportation Hub is completed. Below you will find several updates to K.I.A. including the New Terminal and Parking Areas, K.I.A. Monorail and stations, Regional Jet Services and Cargo Section. Due to ongoing construction at K.I.A., the airport is not currently open to passenger travel. Kitchener Regional Airport is continuing to handle all carriers for passenger service in and out of the Kitchener region. Once completed K.I.A. will host 12 regional / sector carriers (4 International with additional room for 2). At present K.I.A. is equipped to handle any emergency situation that should arrise in our area. K.I.A. is currently open in regards to all private aviation and several Cargo Centers are currently operating. K.I.A. is the major regional facility for all special handling materials and mail for the Northeast Sector of the USNA. Current capacity allows the K.I.A. facility to handle over 43 tons each day through both land and air. Kitchener bosts the newest state of the art facility at K.I.A. for repairs to all types of Commercial Aircraft. A joint venture with Airbus International and Boeing at K.I.A. will allow the latest (and future) technology. Opening Soon: Kitchener Aircraft Mobility and Service School. Kitchener is currently accepting bids for additional Cargo Carriers to fill two additional vacant positions at K.I.A. If interested please contact Mr. Schnieder at (999) 321-5555. Simlympic Bid Located just to the South of K.I.A. is the new Simlympic Venue and Housing sites. Additional sites will be posted shortly as pictures are developed! (Sorry about the water...I wanted to show you how far I've come:c) It has been a hustle and a bustle around the city of Kitchener lately as they continue preparations for their bid to host the Simlypics. "Things are going smoothly around the city as we continue construction," Mayor Daddio stated this morning during his daily press conference. Official photos have now been released for the latest updates on Kitcheners progress. The Simlympic International Broadcast Center (SIBC) is ready to host this years Simlympics. With room for over 10,000 media credentials in the SIBC, all broadcasts throughout the globe will comence from this state of the art facility. Located in the picture directly below is the East Kitchener Transportation Hub (EKTH). Due to recent security issues throughout the world Kitchener has made travel throughout the Simlypic Venues accessible only via Monorail, Buslines and Subways. Each of these have Hubs that are outside of the venues in order to provide security screening prior to accessing the main routes within the venues. Additional pictures will become available within the next couple of days that detail the transportation network. There are no roads that will be accessed by traffic from outside of the security zone. Roads that you see currently are only accessible within the main venue routes. The EKTH is the main parking area to the East and South Venues that serves as main parking for the Simlypic Stadium, Baseball / Softball, Cricket, Football (Soccer) and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Keep in mind that all venues will be accessible via all transportation hubs. The main Simlypic Stadium is nearing completion. Please note the Monorail Hub and Subway and Bus Hubs for transportation needs. This location will be the site of Opening and Closing Ceremonies as well as Track and Field Events. Here is an overview for the South Simlympic Venues. Sites include Softball, which has one main stadium and two practice facilities. Baseball has two facilities for both games and practice. Located to the South is Smithson Stadium, host of Cricket and Soccer. Practice facilities are just to the East with one additional Soccer Stadium to be built. Smithson Stadium holds 24,320 people for Simlympic Soccer events and 19,870 people for Cricket events. Well that is it for now.   2. Greetings all and welcome to the City of Kitchener. This CJ is a continuation of Kitchener's bid for the August Simlypics. Although the City of Kitchener may not be awarded the upcoming Simlympics Kitchener will continue to strive for the best in sports as well as an outstanding location to raise families and have a great time. Here is our story about our bid for the August Simlympics: Early July 2008, It is with great pleasure that the city of Kitchener is putting in their bid to host the August 2008 Simlympics. The greater Kitchener metro area now holds over 150,000 great sport fans and have enthusiastically embraced the nomination. This is Kitcheners first bid attempt to hold the Simlympics. The KIA Transportation Hub and Main Concourses for KIA are nearing completion and will be updated on this site shortly. In the mean time Kitcheners are keeping their fingers and toes crossed in the hopes that they show Sim Nation why we are the best city to host this years Simlympics!
  3. Sim City Aviation Group: REQUESTS

    I just want to say thanks for what is actually out there right now. I have had a blast with the different airport items that have been on the stex. I would also vote for some additional hangers and cargo facilities. I am currently working on a take off of the San Antonio Int'l Airport that I hope to have pics up pretty soon with a CJ. Anyways thanks for the work guys and keep it up. the1ref PS if you can make the curved terminals can you make them so you can use the RMIP with them.
