All I can say is that this is the ultimate step to creating realistic cities. It seems as if the creates or CXL is playing SC4 and taking where the game ends and adding it in CXL. Great work!
-
Good luck with your new CJ. This one was excellent. Take your time too. Cheers

Regina International Airport (yqr) wouldn't be too hard to construct. I'm pretty sure tarmac for the diagonal runway would look fine.

Alright this isn't update 8. However, just a photo of Acadia. Thanks for the comments everyone. Here are some replies... anarchy0029: Thanks for the comments, I hope you enjoy this photo. sedimenjerry: Thanks for the comments. The festival was literally amazing. Over 40,000 people were there. I also went to visit Vancouver for a couple days after. What I can tell you is that Pemberton made a lot of money from this though. If you look back to when I posted the line-up it took place in that exact place. So it was excellent. haljackey: Thanks for the comments, I hope you like the graveyard once it's completed. I still have to download some more pieces off the STEX haha. Heres a picture I'm sure you'll enjoy. Any comments are appreciated as always. Thanks! Cheers.

Savoie; la Monarchie Alpine [Starting Page 20!]
rusty_777 replied to CarmineHilton's topic in SC4 City Journals
This is just amazing. Right now I can't find much else to say...(that's a good thing). Good photoshopping. Great great great work! Cheers. -
Thanks for the comments everyone. I'll do some replies now... dfnva: Thanks for the comments...you can see the Pemberton Flaming Lips performance on You Tube. Ntq$310: Thanks for the comments. For my streets I use jerog's street mod; available on the STEX. anarchy0029: Thanks for the comments, and I understand we all have lives outside of Sim City. I really appreciate that this is one of the nicest CJ's you have seen. It means a lot; really. connorc24: Thanks for the comments, and it takes awhile to be good at photoshop. However CS3 is amazing. Really flexible and professional. Thanks so much... any comment toward realism is much appreciated. MTLT_17: Thanks for the comments, and the little things always do matter the most don't they? I'm guessing you've seen a Sim City 4 add recently? Haha, I just had to add that in there. Your right... across the river is going to be URev (University of Revelstoke). CarmineHilton: Thanks for the comments. The cemetary is not finished however...there is still some more work to be done with trees and so on. Suburbs cant really look different. Take Calgary for example. Many are cookie-cutter houses. However; I will try to diversify areas from another. One thing you cant really tell now (without a transportation map) is that I am making the older suburbs on a grid and the newer ones not. If you keep watching you'll see. As for everyone else, thanks for viewing Revelstoke. Again please comment. Cheers.

Hey everyone. Unfortunately I don't have time for replies to your comments now. However, I will get back to them. Any comments on this are well appreciated. Here is Update 7 Cheers.

Try creating Regina International Airport (YQR). It's not too big. Located in Saskatchewan, Canada.
-
Your airport is excellent. Great plazas in front and use of custom pieces. Keep it up! I'm impressed. PS: nice mosaics... Cheers
-
Great update...your seawalls are looking good. May I suggest downloading a water mod? It would really add to your cities presentation. Cheers.

Thanks for the comments and views everyone! politicman: Thanks for the comments, I just try to make this CJ the most appealing to the community on here. hawkeye9: Thanks for the comments, detail is key when it comes to making a realistic city. Like I have said before I have been striving to create a realistic city with a lot of detail. Thanks for noticing. sedimenjerry: Thanks for the comments. I'm glad you like this last update. dfnva: Thanks for the comments. The STEX has a lot of custom houses to download that look excellent in suburban areas. The default maxis houses can be quite boring. The Pemberton Festival was amazing; the Flaming Lips had the best entrance. boisemetro: Thanks for the comments, and I have been known to be a lurker too. I hope you like my next update. jutrock: Thanks for the comments, I'm glad to know I have at least one official fan. haljackey: Thanks for the comments, and the box stores and sport complexes are essential to any thriving community. I had once used the rain tool but the ploppable water has never let me down. hunkske: Thanks for the comments, and in many cities, the "newer" suburbs are not griddy. The festival was excellent! sc4portugal: Thanks for the comment. Shadow_Assassin: Thanks for the comments, and a lot I have put into this CJ I have learned from your amazing work on your cities. I like how you have been the one to notice that my city has no visible ending line and again thats another realism effect I have utilized. Speed cameras are always good to make a good buck or two to add into the city budget. Maybe the money from the speeding tickets will be used to re-build the freeway? A little ironic I think. I hope to read another comment from you again. dezjn: Thanks for the comment. oceanmariner: Thanks for the comments, and the twin lakes area won't be the only suburb of it's kind. Keep a look out! The suburban retail has been another realism touch too. gil363: Thanks for the comments, the "street-side" mod is available on the STEX. If you have any problems finding it I will be happy to find it for you. I just visited Revelstoke on my way to Pemberton. I think my version is a little more contemporary. ky72x: Thanks for the comments, and I', glad you have noticed the custom entrances. I tried to see who would actually point that out. Thanks I really appreciate it. I hope to read another comment from you! As for everyone else, I just got back from Vancouver, British Columbia. I will try to have an update up as soon as possible. Until then let's hear some 'more' comments...thanks again.

Great update. I really enjoy your choice of terrain. It shows that not everyone likes to build on just plains. Maybe a region shot later on? Cheers.
-
Nice start with the disaster. I really have enjoyed reading your story line. It is well-planned. Good work Cheers.
-
Other than the random icons and u-drive it tags I really liked this update. Great work fabises. The theme park was excellent I must say. Cheers.
-
Boisemetro there has been a couple of updates that I missed but overall WOW. This is a great start, and to be honest, it's just what I first pictured a CJ to be. Keep up the good...no great work! Cheers.
-
Great update. You are really going in-depth with this City Journal. I like the detail. Good work. Cheers.

Did you guys actually think I was going to leave you for 8 days without an update to say goodbye?! Heres come replies first. penguin007: Thanks for the comments, I'm glad you like my suburbs. Heres some more in this update. Enjoy! sedimenjerry: Thanks for the comments, I will take off the grid when I'm doing scenic shots but not when I'm building my city and taking my pictures. Sorry, it's one aspect of Sim City I am defensive over. I'm glad you like the bridge though. Godzillamn: Thanks for the comments. I'll start to look at different bridges. If you see any you like PM or tell me in a comment on here! It would be really appreciated. However, I think the arch bridge looks fine so far. psander5: Thanks for the comments, as I said to godzillaman I will look for different bridges but if you know of any let me know as well. I'm glad you said it doesn't look ugly in the picture above. dfnva: Thanks for the comments! My region is really well planned out. I bet you'll be excited what I have planned for the other side of the bridge. I think I said too much haha. anarchy0029: Thanks for the comments, hope to read you comment on the next update. psander5 (2): Sorry you don't like the line -up but it does take place in Pemberton, British Columbia. Which is that backdrop. ky72x: Thanks for the comments. What an excellent comment I must say. All the crisp, clean pictures you can give thanks to my video card and CS3. Like I said in my opening post I have downloaded numerous content of the Collector's Edition CD's it really pays off! I'm glad you like the region as some people have said it is kind of bland. But there isn't much else you can do to a region view...right? The night mod is amazing as well. Thanks Gizmo! Thats it for UPDATE 6. Any comments are appreciated. Cheers.
-
This looks good so far. I would like to see some more development thought. Other than that great work so far. Cheers
-
Welcome to ST spore415. I like the name of the CJ it got my attention. You have a nice start. That looks like a nice region view there. If you have any questions or problems feel free to PM me. Cheers.

Thanks for the comments everyone! I am heading to Pemberton BC as of tomorrow. I will try to squeeze in a few pictures but no promises alright. I will be gone for a week or so but when I get back I will be updating this regularly again. I don't want to see this thread at the bottom of the CJ list tho. Have a great weekend guys. Cheers.
-
This is excellent work I must say I am rather impressed. You have great highlights so I agree with anarchy. Your city is beautiful. Cheers.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Here are some replies... hunkske: Thanks for the comments, however a cathedral that size, although it may be a little large is practical in many suburbs. For example Regina Metropolitan Cathedral is located in the Cathedral Area. I will look at some other churches though. I'm glad you like the twin lakes area, I'll feature a couples pictures in the next update. sedimenjerry: Thanks for the comments. I actually wrote that to see what people would say. I actually wondered who was reading the text boxes. At least you are. LTLT_17: Thanks for the comments. Great game last night eh? Schulmanator: Thanks for the comments, that's another goal of mine. Bartonn: Thanks for the comments. It's great to see someone here from Lethbridge, AB. Great city you have there. Heres, just a picture I made. I don't like to post too often without posting a picture as well. Enjoy... Any comments are appreciated. Cheers.
-
Another excellent update. Your skyscrapers are well-chosen. Cheers.

jutrock: Thanks for the comments, heres update Number 5. Keep commenting! TheJerseyDevil73: Thanks for the comments, Its great to see the best City Journal creator commenting on my pictures. I hope to hear from you again. Thanks. hunkske: Thanks for the comments. I'm glad you really like the layout. I'm really going for realism here. NMUSpidey: Thanks for the comments. The downtown will extend to the valley-side. Not the river. For anyone who reads the reply (it may as well be a secret) but development will only lead us to the beginning of the valley. Trees, golf courses, and other things will be placed there. I'm glad you like it. sedimenjerry: Thanks for the comments, the street side mod has helped increase my realism a lot here. It's a great addition to have! Shadow_Assassin: Thanks for the comments! To be honest you are my biggest fan with your creation of cities. I mean to be honest it's great to finally have you comment on here. Especially with the great constructive criticism you have given me. I updated the April NAM to have automata be more frequent ultimately having more cars and realism and I downloaded a slope mod. I really really hope to hear from you again. Best regards! haljackey: Thanks for the comments, I like the grid but for some sections of my cities (ie. downtown core and surrounding areas) Otherwise it looks fake. I mean trust me there are a lot of great cities. Theres a whole debate behind the grids here. Heres update number 5 and some subtle photoshop effects have been integrated. Maybe you can spot them and let me know what you think. supercity124: Thanks for the comments, and looking beyond the newer posts to find this CJ. Are you being serious about the neighbour situation? As for the rest of you here is UPDATE 5 Thats it for UPDATE 5. Let's see some more comments from the viewers here. I would like to see what you think of this. Have a good one! Cheers.

Welcome to ST and I must say this has started off with a big BANG. haha, it looks great. You have a nice selection of BATs integrated into your city. It's astounding.
