Looks terrific! I came across this thread at Skyscraper City which has lots of pictures (some 9/11-related), a few of which show subtle details not seen in too many other pictures available on the Internet; it might be of some help.

That's a great idea for a version of the lot. If you decide to do it, here are some good reference sites: The WTC/Twin Towers in the Arts and 10048: The World Trade Center Movie Project . Also, here is an Amazon list I put together a few weeks ago of movies that prominently feature the World Trade Center beyond just skyline shots (there are surprisingly few movies set in New York City in which characters actually visit the trade center). I haven't yet found pictures of the coffee shop or signs; will post them if I do.

rubik, the plaza is looking wonderful! I don't think the red stripes carried through to the white portion between the planters and the fountain, though. Also, if you ever feel like doing it for research purposes or just to see a good movie, you may want to consider renting The Wiz , the 1978 remake of The Wizard of Oz which takes place in New York City. The World Trade Center serves as the Emerald City, and there is a long scene in the plaza that includes a dance sequence which is among the most elaborate musical productions ever filmed. The lighting is enhanced, and the plaza in 1978 was considerably more devoid of features than it would be in later years, but the movie nonetheless offers a unique opportunity to see the plaza at night. I first saw The Wiz when I was a child, and to this day it is how I like best to remember the World Trade Center. Unfortunately I can't help with the issue you mentioned because I have not yet worked with Dreamweaver MX or mysql. It looks great! I think the letters in the Peace on Earth sculpture were slightly less deep than they are in the current lot; didn't stretch quite as far back. Also, the plaza was renovated in 1999, and the surface looked different afterwards (weathered marble was replaced by colorful granite). Here is a picture before, and here is one after. It looks excellent, but there were nine lampposts in the original plaza instead of eight. Another small detail, but one I thought you might want to know about. I would probably have not noticed it myself had I never visited WTC3D .

That looks terrific; nice job on the appearance of stairs! All I can think to mention is that the spiral configuration of the benches stretched out a bit more (the tip of the spiral lined up with the two left-side plaza entrance planters) as you originally had in this picture and as was the case with the real plaza seen here .

Nice job, rubik, especially with the bench configuration. I remember that the ground was slightly lower between the nine planters and the fountain, and there were benches built into the planters. You can see these details in this picture: whateverwhatever24, pictured below is the Sphere as it is now seen in Battery Park. The inscription reads: For three decades this sculpture stood in the plaza of the World Trade Center. Entitled 'The Sphere', it was conceived by artist Fritz Koenig as a symbol of world peace. It was damaged in the tragic events of September 11, 2001, but endures as an icon of hope and the industructible spirit of Americans. The Sphere was placed here on March 11, 2002 in memory of all those who lost their lives to terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center.

The towers were never very credible in the architectural community, but were adored by the public. How many buildings have their own nickname (Twin Towers)? While appearing to be giant Lego buildings to many architects, the towers were nothing if not innovative. They were the first skyscrapers to introduce the concept of local elevators (hence the sky lobbies), and their steel core and light floor trusses allowed them to be built as tall as they were (notice how they maintain the shape of their footprints all the way to the top, not levelling off or becoming too topheavy). Also, the flat roofs had their own benefits: The ability to place on them just about anything...antennae, helipads, and the unforgettable panoramic observation platform, once the highest in the world. The aspects of the towers' genius were sometimes subtle, but they were there.

That looks right, rubik. In every picture I've seen of 4-6, they appear to be almost pitch-black. I know you'll be glad to finish with all of the exporting.

I see what you mean about the curved corners; nice improvement. Good job again with the lighting.

That's the best picture I've come across so far of the roof. Your latest roof design looks to be very accurate. I actually didn't notice the washers at first in that picture (if that's what those are on the tracks).

rubik, as far as buildings 4, 5 and 6, maybe the washer should be left off if we are unable to locate a picture (I haven't seen one yet). It might be a shot in the dark to include it since we don't know if it is the same type that is used on the twins, and at least it's already implied that there is one since the tracks are seen on the roofs. The current washer looks fine, but I just hope it wouldn't turn out not to be accurate.

I didn't realize too many lights caused roof problems, but the lighting now looks about right in terms of how it's spread out.

rubik, the night lighting looks very good. Looking at this picture though, it seems as if the floors were mostly well-lit (as seen from outside looking at the windows) and without the dark spots that are there now...however it does look good if you were to leave it this way.
