Photoshop Lesson 1 Creating a nighttime regional view Okay, here it is! I've finally put together this tutorial for every CJ'er out there that wants to bring realism to SimCity 4! Let's begin... Step 1: Open Photoshop. Step 2: Open up a picture from your game. Step 3: Now you must open up a picture of any sunset. If you do not have one, I'll will provide you with one. http://img351.imageshack.us/img351/4996/sunset9dk.jpg Step 4: Now pay attention. Select the picture from your game, then goto Image > Adjustments > Match Color. You will get a popup window. Look in the Image Statistics area of the window and you should see a thumbnail of your SC4 picture. Goto where it says source, in that same area, and select the sunset picture. You should see the picture get darker in some areas and lighter in others. Don't worry, you can adjust this by messing around with the Image Options right above the Statistics area. Mess around with the settings until you get something you like, and click OK. And you're done! Step 5 (optional): If you want to light up your cities, what you need to do is use the Dodge Tool and just mess around with the settings for that as well to get the best look. *END of LESSON* Well, I hope you enjoyed and learned something from that tutorial. If there is any special effect that you see in my pictures that you like, contact me through PM and I will try to set up a lesson! Thanks for listening!

price of gas where you live and car consumption
Pooty replied to kanella's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
Gas back home in Los Angeles was hitting $3.50 for supreme and about 3.20 for regular. Its insane. In Savannah its like 2.80 for regular. -

Everytime you make one of these development updates, it seems as though you've planted a seed and all we do is watch the beautiful rose grow. (yes, i know that was cheesy, but still your CJ rocks!) Can't wait for the next one!

The Empire of Chaumont - 'Delightfully Oppressive'
Pooty replied to jarnomiedema's topic in SC4 City Journals
Good god, man. THis is intense! I love this CJ, very suspenseful and eerily realistic. (Thats a good thing) Good luck! -
I was just wondering if modders are able to create a mod that starts high speed chases between cop and criminals. I was thinking about the Rush Hour trailer and remember seeing a really cool computerized chase scene, not in-game, and thought it would be cool to see those types of things as you're playing. So is it possible?

Date: 9/4/2005 3:07:28 PM Author: The Sim Mayor Huh? I got an error so I couldn't post my last message. Oh well. Sorry that Trinity Bay was lost , it would've been the first CJ I would actully follow. I'll keep it in my signature still just in case Trinity Bay rises again.quote> Heh, wel it has risen again. Check out my signature. There is a new Trinity Bay CJ called Trinity Bay Revisited. Try searching for it cuz its probably lost among the many CJ's on this site. It'll be updated in about a week or so.

Date: 9/2/2005 2:51:18 PM Author: SC4 meister I'd love to render your BAT, but probably won't be able to for another week or two at least, perhaps you should contact pooty. Pooty: Wow, perfect timing, in fact, my computer/video card crashed just as I was replying to your post. I'm not sure what the '' meant, lol, because there are a lot of renders going on, most of which you don't see because people e-mail or MSN or PM me, so be carefull what you ask for, you might just get some! Thanks for the offer, if you could do one or two that would be great! If you don't want to render much that's ok too. If you need my help you're gonna have to wait about another week because my computer is en route to my college dorm room.I'm movin' out to Savannah, GA next week for college and it'll be a while before I can set up my computer. Im using my parents computer right now, but I'll PM you when I get mine all set up and ready. And good luck with your computer, meister. -

Date: 8/30/2005 10:48:36 PM Author: Darmok Very original way of presenting a mosaic. Which, by the way, is beautifull! And that night region shot is also a nice trick. Please tell how you did it! Take carequote> Thank you! But in order for me to tell you about the photoshop technique, I must be on my own computer which will probably be in another week.
