1. Grid secrets: a tutorial CJ

Date: 10/9/2005 2:52:06 PM Author: Compromise Great tips and discoveries. Shame I am never going to remember all this when I plsy SimCity.quote> LOL, that sounds exactly like me.
2. Date: 10/8/2005 6:38:38 AM Author: Compromise Well I have discovered EA are now selling SimCity 4 as a classic edition and I think SimCity 3000 has been taken off the market. This could possibley mean two things... It is the end of SimCity 4 so there will be no more exapnsion packs. SimCity 5 is coming but how long is a different matter. quote> What is the difference between SC4 Classic and Deluxe? I will formulate my opinions as to what should be done with SC5 later. Be prepared for a lot of ideas.
3. Official NFL 2005-2006 Discussion

So has anybody heard anything recently about Madden 06?
4. ST Slowing Down?

Is it just me, or is ST taking longer to load pages. I have noticed this for sometime now, and I was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem. I have dialup internet , so I'm not surprised that the pages can take an inordinate amount of time to load. However, when I tried to open the thread by meinhosen on realistic railyards; it took twenty minutes for the pictures to load. In fact, I am having difficulty trying to get the pages to load in the City Life thread. So, I was wondering if any of the Admins could answer this question: Is it getting to the point where data is being transferred faster than the server can dish it up? And if not, why do some of the pages (specifically the ones with lots of pictures) take so long? Before anyone says that the problem is my connection, I have noticed that this happens on broadband. Also, I don't have this much of a problem with other sites like My Yahoo. EDIT: I tried telling Internet Explorer to load pages without the pictures. I was able to get to the City Life thread a whole lot faster, but what fun is it to talk about a game without being able to see the screenshots?
5. ST Slowing Down?

frndofyaweh: I am happy that the site is nice and healthy, and I agree that slowing down could be the sign of a growing site -- hence, the reason why I asked if the data requests were coming faster than the server could deal with them. I just wish that my pages didn't load so slooooooowly. tungston: OK, I think that I did. General Gunfire: I'm glad to know that this is some sort of on-and-off thing. BTW, the avatar is cool. (Beetlegeuse right?)
6. ST Trivia Game

Still doing trivia mailings. If so, sign me up.

I use cable internet, and fortunately have not been affected by the lockouts, and have not noticed any more than normal slow downs. quote> I heard about that, but I haven't been to the STEX much. So I am pretty sure that the STEX lockup wasn't part of it (especially since dirk said that it was resolved).

So what are the zukes up to besides fixing bar stools? BTW, could I get a hot chocolate with marshmallows on top? EDIT: BTW, thanks for the guiness, zmv!

I'm asking because I couldn't find it while I was scanning this thread.
11. I tried to install the SC4 tool and that went just fine. My problem is that upon trying to use the program, I got an error code (which I wish I had written down). Is there a way to know dead-certain whether or not you have the .Net framework on your machine. I suspect that I don't have the framework because I have had problems saying that I need the .Net framework.
12. RSS Feed

Date: 10/1/2005 3:25:59 PM Author: GingerBlokey this would be seen without going on the site, and Id like it for the STEX and the forum not just the forumquote> I would love to get an RSS feed on My Yahoo. However, I don't think that it is going to happen. It would be too much of a strain on the server IMO.
13. Hey weirdo! Read this!

Is the Magistrate your wife? Just trying to figure out what you mean by the the Magistrate.
14. Grid secrets: a tutorial CJ

I got some of the buildings that you have gotten around 180k in a city that I was working on. I will inform everyone though that you have to give the sims their every wish if you want to get them that early on. Scads of luck is going to be necessary, though.
15. Grid secrets: a tutorial CJ

I love this tutorial. I've learned a lot.
16. ST NFL Football Fantasy

It's just friendly competition picking good players and seeing how they do. And it also makes you pay so much more attention to the league and kinda makes you a better fan because of it. quote> Thanks for the info. Q: How do you determine who wins? I understand about picking good players, let me make sure I have this straight -- if I had Tom Brady and he scored two TDs next Sunday, would my team get 12 points? quote> You sort of have it. Every week, each team in the league plays another. Teams recieve points based on how well their players play. The better stats a player has, the more fantasy points he gets. After the REAL games are all over, the points are added up from each team's players and the teams each get a total. The teams that have higher point totals than their oppenents get a win. quote> OK, I think that I am getting the hang of this. If my star running back were to increase his yardage per carry, then his percentage would go up and I would get fantasy points (which BTW, how do you determine how many fantasy points you get). But if he sucks that week and his average goes down, then what happens. Do I lose potential points?
17. Grid secrets: a tutorial CJ

I knew the grid was the way to build a city. It may not always look that great, but it works wonders! Keep up the awesome tutorial.

19. I remember when gas was $.78 a gallon (in the Texas). Several months ago, a friend of mine said that she has her boyfriend fill up her car because she didn't like to be present when her money flew out the window. That was when gas was about $1.70. Now, it's up to nearly $3 for a gallon. I decided that I am going to get a diesel engine and run it on frying oil from Burger King. That way, I don't pay for my fuel.

I know I'm going to sound like an idiot, but would somebody mind telling me what the basic idea is behind fantasy sports.

The 'Skins, Bucs, Colts and Bengals. What are your guy's views on each of the teams? quote> Go 'Skins! (I'm a season ticket holder. What else am I going to say? ) quote> WOW!!! You're probably the only women Iknow who like football. Like somebody said, the Pats aren't going to win the Super Bowl because they are missing to many people. (One year, you're a dynasty; the next year, you're struggling--how bad does that suck) I want the Texans to make the playoffs, but I think that if they even make the Wild Card, they will die in the first round. As for the Chargers, if I had been their owner; Shottenhymer (or however you spell his name) would have been Out-of-a-job-enhymer because he lost to the Jets in the playoffs last season.

This looks like a nice establishment to hang out in. *Orders a cold one* So...What's up?
24. 6 Lane Freeways?

I love the idea of having 12 lanes of freeway. I have had highways with traffic problems so bad that they appeared red in the traffic data map. I would help with this wonderful project, but I am no good at BATting or modding yet.
