There are lots of bugs - large and small - that I'd like to submit. (e.g., the rail connections overlay in the info panel when there is no rail system in the game, inconsistencies and UI issues with the time controls, etc.) I'm trying to take a positive attitude here; I'd like to try and help make this better. If that's possible...

I have similar issues, especially when trying to play solo. The slowdowns usually start getting bad at around 25k residents. 8-core 2.8GHz 6GB RAM NVidia 8800GT 512MB Vista 64 Anyone found a way around this?

Since PO trading seems to be non-functional at the moment, I decided to try solo again. I was able to get up to around 50,000 citizens before I started running into serious trade-related problems. In solo mode, the only available trading partner is Omnicorp. You can trade pretty much all resources, selling at $25 and purchasing at $100. This means that you need to sell four tokens for every one that you can buy. Cities XL, however, is built with trading in mind. Maps aren't generally designed for well-rounded, sustainable cities - most lack major resources - and part of the fun is, of course, specializing. Even after covering pretty much all my arable land and harvesting the available water, I just couldn't trade for enough of what I needed at the 4-for-1 trading rate. Anyone else had this issue? Anyone have any tips for trying to build a more specialized city or developing the less balanced maps?

I keep having problems with the trading system in the planet offer, enough so that I can't really play the game. Last night, I was playing a PO city and needed water, but Omni was the only seller - and it's prices were completely unworkable. I asked for help in the chat and was told there were plenty of sellers; I just couldn't see them. I put up a buy offer at 50% higher than the next highest and just waited. No takers. I couldn't move forward in the game. I tried to see if the web interface would give better info, but it didn't even have my city. This morning, I started a new city. This time, I was having trouble selling food. At one point my resources pane said I had a surplus of ten, while the trading panel said I was making nine and selling five. Meanwhile, the active contracts screen said I had no contracts. There were no buyers listed other than Omni, and no matter how low I offered to sell, there were no takers, leading me to believe that my offers just weren't showing up in the marketplace. Meanwhile, the web interface finally shows my city, but with a completely different set of values. At the same time, the trade screen keeps glitching out. Sometimes, I'll open the marketplace tab across the top for each resource just aren't there, and it shows me as having "---" frieght and passengers, etc. Since trading is such an integral part of the game, I just can't play it once a city gets to even a modest size, and I'm really frustrated. I'm a software engineer myself, and I try to be very forgiving - I was even considering signing up for the PO, since I can afford it and I like supporting independent developers. But...I can't even play the game. Anyone have similar problems? Anyone find a way around them?
