Actually, this guy may be on to something... it may just be me, but I'm having some trouble getting PNGs to appear. My CJ title image (the only PNG im my CJ) doesn't show up, and nor do any that I posted in another thread I read just now. All of my images have been hosted offsite. To test the theory here's my avatar in both JPG and PNG form, both renditions hosted at Imageshack: JPG: PNG: Any idea why the PNGs may not be working?

What did you do while simtropolis was down?
Fischbob replied to jmjselect's topic in General Off-Topic
I posted my CJ at SCC, checked ST every few hours, listened to Disco music, took up residence at SCC, listened to more Disco music, played SC4, went to school, got completely owned in a Trivia Tournament at a rival school, rehearsed for a musical, listened to Disco music, and generally lived my life. -
I'm really sorry to hear that. I lost a grandparent to cancer recently, but that's nothing compared to losing a parent. My sympathies and condolences are with you. If you need a shoulder, feel free to use mine.

Well, I took the quiz again, this time answering yes to the skiing question (as many Canadians do ski, just not me , and the quizzy thingy is moreso looking for generalizations) And I got: You're Canada! People make fun of you a lot, but they're stupid because you've got a much better life than they do. In fact, they're probably just jealous. You believe in crazy things like human rights and health care and not dying in the streets, and you end up securing these rights for yourself and others. If it weren't for your weird affection for ice hockey, you'd be the perfect person.

You're the United Nations! Most people think you're ineffective, but you are trying to completely save the world from itself, so there's always going to be a long way to go. You're always the one trying to get friends to talk to each other, enemies to talk to each other, anyone who can to just talk instead of beating each other about the head and torso. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, and you get very schizophrenic as a result. But your heart is in the right place, and sometimes also in New York.

The Moose Factory (virtual Bar & Grill)
Fischbob replied to A Nonny Moose's topic in General Off-Topic
Ah, I love chemistry. And the Olympics. So anyway, I fly out uber early tomorrow morning from Saint John to Toronto, and then there's a couple hours of driving to where I need to go. I'll be there for most of the week, so you won't see much of me in the next few days. Also, a big thanks to all of you who payed respects to my late grandfather. It's a good feeling knowing I have quite a few available shoulders here at ST if I need them. This really is the best community on the internet. EDIT: And congrats to N_O_Body and the Moose Factory on 100 pages! -
The Moose Factory (virtual Bar & Grill)

*Enters, orders strongest drink legal for persons under 19 in Canada* I've just heard a few minutes ago that my grandfather has passed away. It's a really weird feeling I have right now: empty; sad, but not overwhelmingly sad. I was sure it would be harder to take than this, but I haven't shed a tear. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to act in a situation like this, this is the first close relative I've lost. My father is in quite a tangle though. We'll be flying out to Ontario for the funeral within the next day or so; my dad doesn't want me in school tomorrow but I feel relatively fine. Maybe it hasn't sunk in yet, I don't know. Anyway, I just thought I'd let y'all know. -

Woah! Canada doubled their doughnut count today! Two silvers, both coming from Long Track Team Pursuit (Women's and Men's respectively), and two bronzes, one from Women's Skeleton, and the other from Jeff Buttle in Men's figure skating. T'was a pretty awesome day. -
I'd like to sign McCauley if he's not already taken.

I've had 4 if I'm not mistaken: ^ My first custom avatar, this is a shot of the approach to the Saint John Harbour Bridge. I completely forgot about it for Nostalgic Avatar Day, and used the one below instead. ^ I then moved to this one for quite a while. It is still my avatar at SCC and Dudyconstructor, but probably not for long. ^ I moved to this one for a little while as part of a theme with my Showcase CJ. I never liked it much. ^ My current one. I found it while Googling seafood in search of a new avatar.

Cindy Klassen just got Canada another medal - a bronze in Women's 3000m Speed Skating. In addition, the Canadian Women's Hockey team is OWNING. They beat Italy 16-0 yesterday and Russia 12-0 today. I love the Olympics. -

ryanb_sc4: Excellent site, my only two requests are for you to remove the posessive tense (the 's from St. Joseph, and for the team's abbreviation to be changed to STJ. I'm waiting on the abbreviation change (or denial thereof) before I start my teampage. Thanks in advance.

The opening ceremony was fairly awesome. After watching that performance, Pavarotti is my new hero. Now I can hardly wait for the competition to begin! Go Canada! -
Official Mapping Community Requests
Fischbob replied to RadioheadFan's topic in Mapping Community Room
It seems that the Saint John request has been filled. So I'm back with another request: How about a nice scale map of St. Pierre and Miquelon Islands? For those of you who don't know where this is, it's a French territory just off the south coast of Newfoundland. Hypothetical cookies to anyone who makes this! -
So? He's still an eligible choice, and is on SensMan's list.

Fischbob's Olympic Plaza For my first ever BAT, here's a little something to commomerate the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Turin, Italy. Place it near the entrance to your city's sports complex for the best effect. The 7x1 lot can be found in your PARKS menu. It costs $100 to plop and $15 per month afterward. Included in this release is a custom Olympic flag prop made by Ill Tonkso exclusively for this lot. A special thanks goes out to him for making it for me. This release has two external dependencies, those being Ill Tonkso's One World Week Flag Props, found here, and the BSC Textures MEGA Pack, found here. To install, simply unzip the contents of this download to your My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins folder. Other applicable information can be found in the readme file. For a better-quality image of this lot, click here. If you have any major comments, questions, or problems, be sure to visit my BAT thread. Please leave a comment and a rating, and happy simming! -
Although I can't make a paypal/debit donation for that same reason as most other teenage members here, I'll try to mail you a small sum via money order. Anything to help with the longevity of the site

I'd love to join in!

Amazing university TMS! You've really managed to make every part of the institution flow seamlessly togeather. I absolutely love it! As I said before, I can't wait for the final product, it looks like it's going to be great.
