Help! I just did my first download. It was called MacAddons. I placed the folders in the plug-in folder and regions folder as they stipulated. There were things like the Brandenburg Gate and other Landmarks in the folder. In opening the plug-in folder and looking at the contents, I was asked to place them in something like a Chinese Converter/Plug-in in my Library folder. I looked in my Library and nothing like that existed. Then I noticed you could toggle between two choices. 1. leave as is (I think) and 2. the Chinese thing. I chose the Chinese thing. I think it worked sometimes and others it duplicated the folder adding another .dat to the name. I trashed the duplicated folders. I was asked to login again after that. I assume that meant to restart my computer which I did. I restarted SC4 RH and looked for the landmarks and could not find them anywhere. Also, while playing the game I noticed the cursor that would normally highlight the square where the tool was being placed has disappeared, the arrow on civic buildings to help show placement to road has disappeared and a couple of other anomalies(?) in regards to the home, end, up, down rotation keys where the red/blue shape of potential placement for building would change shape/size sometimes not to return. I did try to use some cheats I discovered earlier: *shadow*,*shvdom*,you don't deserve it, & gol. The gol gave me a disco action of green tiles dancing all around the screen. you don't deserve it did provide all buildings. I am not sure what *shadow*,*shvdom* did, if anything. What should I do? Am I missing some dependancies? What is the first thing you would recommend a newbie download? Please remember that I am new to Macs as well as computers/internet so please be step-by-step as much as possible. Eternally Grateful, Rodney p.s. I am so sorry to take you back to CS101.

hmmm... That's what I did the first time around and then I couldn't find any of the Landmarks in the game and began to notice the bugs. That's when I tried to open one of the contents and the whole Chinese Converter thing happened. Am I to assume that you downloaded the file and everything worked fine for you and that it is not one of those stupid cheats causing the problems. My whole computer seems to be slowing down somewhat. iSync especially interferes with speed. Anyway, i digress. Maybe it's all just to much for my little iBook to handle. I am running Tiger, if that makes any difference. However, should I just wait to download the incredible things offered on the STEX until I can save enough to upgrade my computer? Is there anyway to just upgrade the SDRAM to 512 and/or the G3 to G4? I hope so. I have a killer CJ just begging to be made. Thanks for Everything. kbooms1w, Wow.... I really appreciate you doing that. I eagerly await your response. I am pretty sure that everything with that download is now in the trash. In the meantime, here is some more information. I am not sure that you will need any of this but just in case. I have a 800MHz PowerbookPC (ibook) G3 with 256MB SDRAM. I am playing a city on a Medium block and it is pretty big and, of course, runs awfully slow. The bigger they get the slower they are. Res: @52,000 Ind: @25,000 Com: @7500 I do have the SC4 patch and the RH patch installed. I am afraid it might have been one of those cheats. Here are some others that I tried but were not accepted: fightthepower, howdryami & whereareyoufrom. Thanks a million!, Rodney

kbooms1w, Thanks so much for replying. If I remember correctly from my late night (early morning) browsing it was in a thread somewhere. I will try and find it again. I used the search option with 0 results for SC4 MacAddons. The download came as a .sit file. I have moved it all to the trash, however the problems are still with the game. Do you think I should uninstall the game and reinstall? I am not really attached to any of my cities especially now after seeing the possibilities here on this amazing site. Appreciating the help, Rodney Update: I remembered something and did a little research. I am happy to report that I did not get it here on ST. I got it @ Macgamefiles.com/ add-ons. I did a SimCity 4 for Mac search on Google. That is how I found you guys and there on Page 4 right under you is the info for Macgamefiles. After browsing you guys for a couple of days I went back to that search looking for some cheats. That is when I noticed this Add-on and downloaded it. It is called: Simcity 4 Mac Landmarks Add-on 1.0 Publisher: Aspyr Media Any pointers on what to do now? Contact Aspyr?

wks2003x, I am really new here to the BB and have been browsing for several days now and just had to let you know that this CJ is da Bomb! I love the graphic arts, the real estate sales slant, the story and most of all your mastery of all that is offered here on this site. You are what I hope to be in a few months. You are already doing what I wish I had done in my life; Architecture. You most assuredly have an eye for style and beauty. Please keep up this CJ and give an update soon. Hello, I'm a new member here and I am in absolute awe of everything I have seen on this BB. You guys are incredible and create beautiful cities I hadn't even dreamed were possible. I feel as if I have entered heaven but don't have a clue as to how to enjoy/use any of it. (I am also new to Macs and the Internet as well) With regards to SimCity.com, I just received an email today stating that they could not register my game because it is a Mac game. So what do we do? I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. I will try to do better as time goes on. If any of the incredible gurus here would like to take a hopelessly addicted guy under their wing and show me how to use the resources here and eventually to create as well. I would be eternally grateful.
