  1. Global Warming

Actually, that analogy that is there isn't completely right. Argon isn't 99.9 percent of the atmosphere, and oxygen isnt 99, either. Besides, a computer's hard drive is different than the atmosphere. One ton of radioactive waste doesn't seem like a lot in a city that can have upwards of a billion tons of buildings, people, cars, etc, but if that one pound was spread out over the entire city, I bet there would be a bit of a problem with radiation poisioning. Yes, the urban areas do heat up the land and air around them. That is a proven fact, and if you dont believe me, stand in the middle of an asphalt parking lot, its hotter than a field of grass. This deal with the amont of carbon dioxide only rising after the 1950s, is based on many factors. First off, the oceans absorbed the rest of the carbon dioxide. Secondly, the earth didn't get warmer before that point because temperature changes lag behind CO2 levels. Also a proven fact is that aerosols, such as the airborne particulates from burning wood and coal actually contribute to Global Cooling, but those settle out within a few weeks. Carbon Dioxide on the other hand, stays in the atmosphere and continues to raise the temperature. The amount of areas that are burning wood is falling dramatically, and the Global Cooling only has a regional effect anyway. Another thing, Global Warming will actually make certain regions cooler. With the warming of the oceans and the atmosphere, certian air patterns and sea currents will change, and sometimes the climate they affect will change too. (Europe will get colder if the Gulf Stream is affected, the southern hemisphere will become hot and dry, and many others) I have studied the affect of Global Warming on certain ecosystems, and its not something that we want to play around with. By the way, the United States does NOT have the cheapest gasoline in the world. Saudi Arabia, Venezeula, and a few others have cheeper gas than we do. Look it up online.
  2. Those specs seem fine, except, you might not want to get an integrated video controller. Video cards are usually better than the integrated controllers. Another thing, when you run a program, Windows uses all the RAM that it needs to. It doesnt matter if you have one RAM stick or two. To answer your second question, RAM is not dual core, the processor is, and yes, if it is dual core, you have all the resources devoted to Simcity. The processor being dual core just means that it can process two commands at once, it's a bit like having two processors in one. Hope this helps.
  3. First off, welcome. The reason the I-Ag demand is so high is the way the game runs Agriculture. As ag is built, the city wants more. The demand will always be positive. Usually, it will be very positive, like what you have here. The the ag zones actually work against the other zone types, and the others work against the ag demand. Over time, the city will begin to adjust to demand less and less agriculture. Just built more of the other zones and slowly destroy the agriculture.
  4. Avenues & Buildings

That is kinda strange, something like that happened to me once, try moving the screen, I'm sure you've done that though. Get rid of plugins, and if nothing works, reinstall the game, you might have to lose those cities though. Good luck with that.
  5. NAM General Discussion Thread

With the slingshot thing, that would be cool to see the cars flying by, and a bit interesting to see what would happen if there is a crash, like the is on crowded roads. But its a cool idea. I had an idea of double or triple decker roads, not highways but avenues and stuff. I always get slammed by not having room in downtown areas or islands where there is little room. Forgive me if it was said before though, this thread is very long.
