  1. The Lighter Side of SCS?

They have gone too far. First they kill the concept (the brain) now they take away the heart. If I could get my hands on those monsters.
  2. Where do you normally buy your games?

    Future Shop... Best Buy sucks
  3. NHP Mount Robson Provincial Park by beskhu3epnm

WOW!! This is where I live for 4 day so f each year. Backpacking along the Berg Lake trail which is world renoun. I know every inch of this map and often end up 30km from any highway. This area i among Canada's best and Mt Robson is one impressive mountain in real life. This map has Kinney lake, the Valley of 1000 water falls, Berg Lake.... and much more....Great Job. I wanted this map for3yrs now and stumblled across it.
  4. Anwakee County

Nice use of mods...Ive never been brave enough to play around with new textures and tree mods.... I see it pays off nicely...
  5. City of EDMONTON

Edmonton September 28th 2006 I've done some work lately and sould have an update in the next few weeks. Some new roads have been placedin Sherwood Park and a few random areas have been touched up. In the mean time here are a few pictures I took the other day around Edmonton. I took these pictures just SW of downtown. I wanted to test my new Camera out....

Capitol1 : The first steps of making a recreation are the hardest ones. Once you make these choices you are stuck with them, and some can come back to haunt you. I made my river valley to deep, and I can't change it for the entire city. Choosing the right scale is very important. It something you should try a few test runs at, recreating areas you know well, and then seeing how it fits in SC. If you need to know how to do these and other first steps check out page 48 and page 11 of the CJ. I have a few tutorials there. Any other questions just ask.

  8. City of EDMONTON

Edmonton, August 27th 2006.... First off, don't worry this is the last of the bad Photoshop graphics.... I was playing around a little bored and figured I would throw this on the Cj anyways... This is the Northmount / Glengary area in NE area just west of where I grew up. I touched up a few buildings, parks, and bus stops in this area and figured I would show the work in progress. I haven't worked on the city for atleast a month or two so Its time for even a small update...

City of Edmonton - August 22, 2006... Sorry that I haven't updated in a while. Anyone who truely knows this City Journal knows it often takes breaks and then pops back up at a busy pace and so on. Over the summer I have been really busy enjoying Edmonton's summer. I've taken a few different trips around western Canada and have been keeping busy doing a few other things. As always the CJ will continue soon enough with many updates. Also I would like to say I've been accepted as one of Emporis.com's photographers. I've just got a new camera, so any pictures I have taken will be approved upon in time. Any pictures of Edmonton that I take and are placed on Emporis will probably be on the CJ aswell to continue to give everyone the true feeling of my home city.

  11. how to end highways...finally

"lol" How to end highways I don't click on much. But this gathered my attention. I figured I would come in here and see a new mod, or a great way to use your transportation network... at least a new lot that ended a highway in some cool manor. To this "How to end Highways" I say.... Welcome to Simtropolis Jeffo
  12. The Tropics of Haalu

"Wow" I don't check out many City Journals, and reply to even less.... But I'm glad I found my way here. There is so many different reasons why this is ahead of much of the class. The water color and reflections, addition of hues to your photos, attention to detail in most everywhere, and other small touches keep the eye entertained in every picture. This island has a feeling all of its own and doesn't have the typical SC felling that is hard to get away from. Great job

Mountain Biking - June 26th 06 (30C / 86F) Anyone who is a fan of this City Journal is used to my summer pictures mountain biking threw certain areas of the River Valley. I went out today just east of downtown, then up threw the core... Here is some real life pictures of Edmonton.

  15. ACE Airport Pack

This is a great addition for anyone who loves there airports and we know theres alot of people out there who do. In my past work in Edmonton I have completed the City Center airport. But I can see I'll be going threw it again to take it a step further. I'm anxious to get these lots into my CJ to make it even all the more real. GREAT WORK!

City of Edmonton - June 20th 2006 Thank You Oilers Anyone on Simtropolis who knows me, knows I am the biggest Devils fan around. And they also know how proud I am of my home city Edmonton. I am also a fanatic when it comes to hockey... These past two months and the Edmonton Oilers run and eventual loss of the cp in last nights game 7 is possibley the greatest run I have ever seen a hockey team make. From beating the (6th best regular season record) Detroit Red Wings, coming back from being down 2 games to 0 in the second round vs San Jose Sharks, winning the Western Conference Championship vs the Anahiem MightyDucks and to come back from being down 3 to 1 in the Finals to miss the cup by a game.... "What a RUN". The city would shut down each game night. Nothing else mattered. And after each win 10's of thousands of fans would pour out onto Whyte Ave to party. Sometimes nearing a flow blown riot each and every game. The Oilers where underdogs from the time they barely made the playoffs a few months ago and until the cup was handed out. As someone who lives in Edmonton and loves hockey being a Devils fan "Thank You". Outdoor Rinks.... I would like to again thank 6459978 for his models. Also a great thanks to ace_bovenopdeberg for taking them to the next level. He is currently working on making them lots with some added features that will help the growth of the region. ace_bovenopdeberg is also making me what has been at the top of my wish list for atleast a year. A couple of 1x1 lots that will have a fair amount of jobs. One reason why Edmonton grows at the rate it does is due ot me having to accurately place jobs. Which can take for ever compared to plopping down housing. So in the end I always have demand for everything but R$$ until thousands of jobs are created. Luckily now, I'll be able to plop down a grass lot beside any house and fill in demands and jobs in all areas of the city. Keep posted for some updates. 6459978's and ace_bovenopdeberg's recent work to help the City of Edmonton will be front and center. Along with some pictures of the real life hockey rinks in summer to show how their time and effort will help greatly.
  17. Ir placement mod

This will come in handy for Edmonton
  18. Summer Skating Rinks

I will be making the lots. But becuase I don't know how to label them and give them proper attributes I propbably wont load them onto the STEX.
  19. Summer Skating Rinks

I don't often agree with people throwing out "10's" for any and everything. But "10 - Perfect in everyway" is a true rating in my case. Thank You!!
  20. City of EDMONTON

6459978. : You can upload them to the STEX if you would like. I can easily place them on a lot. Thanks again!!! The picture above is of the North Saskatchewan River valley. In most areas of the city it is several km wide and line with alot of parks areas. But in some areas, mostly the SW you get narrow areas that cut into the land.
  21. City of EDMONTON

6459978. : "WOW" That looks great. And is exactly what I need. To a tee!!! I can't believe how fast you did it aswell. I know its a simple BAT but still. I'm looking foward to getting it in place. Thanks again!!!
  22. City of EDMONTON

City of Edmonton - June 13th 2006 With outdoor rinks being on topic lately I figured I would mess around with an old trick on SimCity4. Heres a look at Edmonton for a good portion of the year. 6459978. : Thanks for the offer that would be great. Here is a simple picture of a verysimple item that needs batted. Just a 2x3 lots with dirty white boards on the inside and wood color on the outside. No shack or flora needed. Maybe a version with a cement botton and one with grass? I use the 0x25f40000 grass color for all my parks if that helps. Thanks for looking into it.
  23. City of EDMONTON

Szarkoz : It's good to see you finally posted, hopefully you'll be back. Mr. Beer : I got a simular lot somewhere on the STEX then edited it to my needs. Its actually very basic looking but did the job. If you would like it just PM me. Blondetwiggy : At times I wonder how many hours I have worked on this, just out of curiousity??? I would have to say atleast a thousand over 3years? Hyped_up_boy : I guess the plain baseball diamond is universal lol... Capitol1 : I didn't make the CN tower for Edmonton. I have had a few lots be close to being complete or made. But for some reason this Cj is cursed and no lot has ever been finished.... Helomoto : No with the scale I use I can't fit all of the houses on each block. I would say there is only 70% or so of the houses that actually exsis on average. And in some areas alot less. I used this scale due to some things like indutrial lots bing dwarfed compared to the real thing. Looking back now I wish I wnet with a larger scale like Mr. Beer, one reason why I always tell people before making a realistic city to be very careful chossing there scale. Justin : I see the mansion you are talking about now. That needs to be fixed. Sometimes I miss one res being marked as historical and that happens. Every second house in the region is marked historical and slows down the process of building mass areas fast. I also often use mansions to fill in corners where there are houses but due to SC only allowing houses being built North,E,S,W of a road I need to fill the gaps. Also housing is basicly just allowed to grow dispite areas being a certain look. To fill in a few hundred thousand houses in the right style is hard. Maring every second one historical is hard enough lol. I know what you mean about the baseball diamonds. They are plain but at the same time they have a red shale color around the bases in real life. Barely noticable in a zoomed out view but there. I quickly scanned threw my LE looking for something to give that feeling....but left it t what we have now. Delwood is 137th to 132nd ave - and 66th to 82nd st (16x5) blocks Out door rinks : Thanks for everyones input. I think I'll go with a summer look. The problem is.... I need an outdoor rink. If anyone can help I need a 2x3 lot with a basic white fence. No shack, trees, or anything fancy....just a plain hockey shaped white fence lol...
  24. Fairbrook

This CJ takes a good mix of different ideas and styles on ST and places them together in a good style. Its got a good flow for a regon that has a larger downtown and has realistic residential areas.
