You too! Thank you! Gryphonite: Nice to see you again here! I am glad that you got some new inspiration. And Thank you, too. Edit: rp2005: You are very welcome here in the village! 3. A mexican town

To everyone: Thank you very much for your comments and suggestions. I still need to collect a lot of material and ideas for this town. And I don't have much time to play SC4. But I am still working on it. Please be patient. Thank you. debussyman: No, no sab
  4. A UK village

sloppet: Thank you for leaving this nice comment. le_harv: Thank you for your congrats! And thank you too for your suggestion about the Euro Cars. I will have a look at them. Mikeaut1: Welcome back!! Glad to see you again here. Yes, I have some new ideas, and there are some new great british lots on the STEX. So I will continue working on this village for some time. We will see if it is worth it. And now, the long awaited Southern industrial complex Do you like it?
  5. lets see some urban areas!

I can show you some images of a UK village I made. It is not a city, but perhaps you will like it as well: An overview: And some details: Some of the pictures are already a little bit old. You can see the whole village here: A UK village
  6. A UK village

Some new buildings This area was almost completly rebuild: Here are some closer images: The buildings with the red roof are nbay's Arcadia Row 1 . They are rather french than british, but they are made so well that I simply had to have them in the village. And I think they fit in well. What do you think? At the other side of the street you can see the first 'White Swan Pub' that grew 'in-line' in this town. I am a little bit proud about it, it took so long... The back yard: Next door there are some more of rp2005's new UK shops. They are great too, aren't they? This is the next corner that recieved new development: An appartment block was build: Here you see how close it is to the area shown above: And the last picture is an overview of this area: That's it for now. There are some more new developments in the line. So - stay tuned. Comments are welcome as always.
  7. A UK village

I have some images to show! Some time ago, I suggested to design more UK 'in-line' shops and comercials to go with gascooker's fantastic UK buildings at the BSC Gascooker Emporium . A discussion and later a new thread ( The Great British BAT Thread ) was started about this topic. Since then, a lot of new stuff was presented there and released on the STEX. Now I have started to incorporate some of this new BATs in my village. Near the market, some new shops have opened: This are rp2005's UK Shops 1b . They are next door to the good old 'Yorkshire Grey'. Unfortunately, I was only able to get the 'Choices Video'. I don't know, why. Here is another picture: And now, I will show you images of another area I have redone. It is close to the station: And an overview: More work is in progress. And please leave a comment...
  8. A UK village

Dear visitors There are some new British BATs on the STEX. So I started to work on this little project again. There will be some new comercials in the centre of the town. New comercials in the town centre This is how the village centre was looking after the first new development: And some years later: This is a corner that doesn't look very good because of the double zebra: What do you think about this style? (Possible with the new Euro Road Mod, I believe): I am currently very busy with real life. And I am proud to tell everyone that my first son was born a week ago. But I hope to be able to post some more pictures soon. So - stay tuned...
  9. A mexican town

More basic terraforming This is the region as it looks now: And two close-ups of the south eastern coastline: Obviously, it isn't finished yet. But it is coming along. Do you like the new look?
  10. A mexican town

Cjah: Thank you very much for posting. And welcome to the mexican town. I think I will go with the forest area, some kind of maya pyramids would be nice indeed. If someone else knows about that, please tell me. The first terraforming You can see the basic outline of the water bodies and a small area of hills. There will be much more mountains along the coastline and in the inner land as well. What do you think?
  11. M

debussyman I just want to let you know that I started a new CJ called A mexican town . I will use lots of your BATs for it, so I decided to dedicate it to you. I hope you don't mind... And please show us some pictures of your beautiful M
  12. A mexican town

The untouched region This is the region I will use. It will be terraformed by hand. There are four medium city tiles. I have seen some kind of 'desert terrain' in other CJs. Does anyone know where to get such a 'desert mod'? It would help a lot. But, I still am not sure what colour-scale the terrain should get. As far as I know, there are some green, rainforest areas in the south of Mexico as well. What do you think about it?
  13. A UK village

Dear visitors With a some bit of sadness I announce the completion of this little CJ (that was never meant to be a CJ). As you know, the whole town is build in one medium city tile and it is filled up. I have to admit that I am running out of ideas. I am very happy about the amazing feedback this CJ got. And I want to say thank you, thank you very much to everyone who has left a reply. Perhaps I will restart work on this village when some new and interesting UK stuff is released on the STEX. I like this little village very much and I am a little bit proud of the acomplishment I made with it. So, I won't forget it. Again, thank you very much for your interest in this thread. On the other side, I have started a new CJ called A mexican town . Its title is description enough. I would be happy to see you there again.
  14. A UK village

Thanks to everyone who left a comment. I am really happy to get so much support! Deathtoall: Thank you, I am glad that you like the pictures. Alek: Thank you for leaving a nice comment again. You are always very welcome here... Nik-nik: I have seen this post office by 6underground in The Great British BAT Thread . I like it, but it seems to be a little bit out of scale compared with gascooker's buildings. The appartment buildings are called 'Stephen Drive' and were made by '6459978'. They are great, aren't they? You should try to get some of the angeled suburban homes, they really help to get more diversity. (I have the same problem with my girlfriend...) jacqulina: Thank you for this nice comment. pikatchoum: Bienvenue mon amis! Thank you for your nice comment again. And I am glad that you like the new housing project. And the canals, too. wallasey: Thank you for your opinion on the new housing estate. ince I am not from Britain, I am doing only guesswork here. So I am glad to hear, that I got close to reality. frogface: Welcome to the village! Qnd thank you for leaving a reply. I like your new UK high street shops. Nardo69: Hey, welcome again. Nice to hear that you like the dirt tracks. And thank you for your suggestion for the comercial zone. I already know this gas stations, and I like them, too. But I would prefere a supermarket in this place. Something like 'EDEKA' or 'Kaisers', something more wealthy. Sch
  15. A UK village

Alek: Thank you for this nice comment. I am glad that you appreciate the aork I put into the small details. PhilsCafe: Thank you very much for your post. I am very happy that the village matches your imagination of a british town. As I myself have never seen a real british town, too, this is very important for me. vester_DK: Thank you for this info... And now: Some more images of the western forest area This is how the new housing project looks like now: A small forest track was established to connect the housing area with the canal south to it: An overview of the whole area: And an even bigger overview: Comments are welcome...
  16. A UK village

Alek: Thank you very much for this nice post. I am happy to hear that you like this small CJ that much! Kwakelaar: Nice to see you again and thank you for your comment. jacqulina: Thank you again... Peng74: Hey, welcome again. Thank you for your post and you suggestion. I already have the Sainsburys markets, some of them are already in the village, but they don't fit in this place very well. Nik-Nik: Thank you for your ideas. I don't like the Aldi for that place, it simply is too boring, too low welth... vester_DK: Thank you for the idea with the service stations. I already have two of them in the village, but I didn't know that they are available in that many sizes. I will have a look at them. And thank you for posting. Some new developement Here I am waiting for a row of frogface's new UK shops to develope: Due to large demand, a new housing project for the low income people has started in the western forest: These two projects aren't finished. What do you think? Are they worth the effort? And I would be happy to hear about some more ideas for the supermarket.
  17. A UK village

nardo69: Thank you for posting. I am happy that you like the cemetery. Du bist hier immer gern gesehen... A question to everyone: I am looking for a supermarket or some other comercial that would fit in this place: Do you have an idea? Any suggestions?
  18. A UK village

jbridgman: About those trucks: There is a small farm nearby, I think it is the source of them. So you are going to Fischbach. I know it. I still can't believe it! If you want to know something about the area of the Bodensee, just ask me... jacqulina: Thank you for leaving a nice post again! Traffic_Jam: I am glad that you like the cemetery. Tennismaster1: I posted in your CJ. And now something about the village. I changed the southern residential area again: A new small canal in the southern part of the village First an overview: And now some close-ups: And this has to be said: Thank you very much, simgoober, for giving us this fantastic addition to the brick canals. I simply love it! And what do you think? They are great, those small canals, aren't they?
  19. Urland, a (mostly) rural coastline

Hello Nardo You have a great CJ here. I love the rural style, your farms are layed out very well and I like how you put the dirt tracks, the trees and the little rivers and canals in between. All looks so natural. And a great tutorial, too. I read it with great interest. Since I am from Germany too, I am familiar with this kind of farms. I lived most of my life in the south west of Germany, and I know that the farms there are quite small due to the ancient heritage laws (Erbrechte). Only the trees you are using along the roads are looking a little bit strange. I would say that is because you are using premade lots. Because of that all this rows of trees do look to uniform. Try to plant them one by one and I am sure you will be happy! Keep up the good work please! Wirklich gute Arbeit! Mach weiter so! (Auf einmal auf deutsch zu schreiben ist schon merkw
  20. The United Citys Of New Santos

Tennismaster1 I am sorry that you still have problems with your pictures. As hammo has said, you have linked the pictures on your hard-drive. So you can see them, but we cannot. You have to upload them to a server like imageshack, if you want others to be able to see them. It seems that you are not following the advice I gave you above... At least you managed to convert the pictures to jpegs. Ok, once again: Go to this page and follow the instructions there. It will guide you how to host images on imageshack. Or follow the instructions in the little tutorial I posted above. It isn't that hard. I wish you luck again...
  21. A UK village

Ok, after showing you some pictures of a real german village, here the next update on the artificial UK village: The local cemetery Due to the construction of the railway, the cemetery had to be relocated. I know, this is unlikely to happen in the real world, but this is still a game, isn't it? At least the new one is bigger and better. But judge for yourself. Do you like the new cemetery?
  22. Show us your most unique and creative transportation network!

broken: As far as I know, the 'avenue on-slope pieces' are part of the 'NetworkAddonMod.dat'. Go to your transport menu, the purple one. Select the first submenu, the one with the road on it. Then click on the down arrow and select the last submenu, the one with the 'avenue puzzle pieces'. Then hold 'shift' and press 'tab'. You should get soon the 'avenue on slope piece'. If you don't get it this way, I am out of ideas. I would think that something with your installation is wrong. I hope this will help you.
  23. A UK village

Dear visitors Thank you very much for leaving so many friendly comments again, it really encourages me to continue this thread. This whole story wasn't planned as a real CJ, it was meant as a small showcase of gascooker's exellent UK buildings. But by now it has grown already much larger than actually planned. This is due to the overwhelming amount of replies posted. Thank you very much again. Nardo69: Thank you for leaving another nice comment. You are one of my most loyal visitors, thank you. And I am glad that you like the region view and the last images. Deathtoall: Thank you too for your nice post. I am happy that I was able to build a village that looks like a british or irish suburban area. This was obviously my goal. Traffic_Jam: Thank you for this nice words! jbridgman: I can't believe it! You are going to stay at Friedrichshafen!!! I passed half of my life at Meersburg, a small town 20 km in the west of it. When you are at the Lake of Constance (Bodensee in german), you have to visit it. It is one of the most beautifull towns along the lake, and it is a rather big lake, more than 80 km long. Meersburg is more than 1000 years old, Friedrichshafen is younger and was totally destroyed by allied bombers in WW2 because of its aviation industry. For example the Zeppelins were build there. In the harbour station (one of the few undestroyed buildings, Bauhaus style by the way) you can still see that you could fly directly to Chicago or New York. Quite funny for a small city with 70 000 inhabitants. The town was rebuild after the war and is now a rather boring 50s style city. Very sad history... I simply have to show you some pictures of Meersburg here, so that you can imagine it better: The yellow and red buildings are the school I went to: I hope that you will have a good time at the Bodensee. It is a really beautiful landscape. Gryphonite: Yes, it is definitely worth the effort. pikatchoum: Hey, welcome back. I would be very honored, to have a place in your sig. And thank you for posting. Some more pictures of the village will be up here soon. So - stay tuned... (And if you want to see something special, just let me know.)
  24. Show us your most unique and creative transportation network!

broken: Hmm... I have them in my 'Avenue puzzle piece menu'. And I have the July NAM as well. It is one of the last pieces, so you could hold 'tab shift' while cycling through the menu by pressing 'tab' to reverse the cycling order to get to it faster. Anyone else doesn't have the 'avenue on-slope' pieces? As far as I know they were added with the last NAM update.
  25. A UK village

sirgeoj2: Thank you for your comment. I am glad that the tutorials are useful for you. And now, as requested by jacqulina, more pictures of the southern residential area. I changed some things. Images in no particular order. If you want to see something else, just let me know...
