My network is run from a Dell desktop with Windows XP, wired to a Server 2000 home build and wireless to 3 Hewlitt Packard laptops(DV9000 and 6000s). I also have 19 MACs on the shelves and a couple Compaq Pressarios =)

Great memories of a great game. I beat the game a few times and still have the CD and Jewel Case it came in. It still plays on my old 2000ME and Win XP machines just fine. I also still have Sim Isle, Sim Copter, SimEarth, SimCity2000, SC original, SimFarm, Streats Of SimCity, etc. All of them still work on WinXP =)

Interesting, that you mention Alban Berg Nonny Moose - I am currently attempting to license his works for USA media outlets and orchestras here. Meanwhile, my partners are doing the same in the U.K. and Germany. Philharmonic turned it down, but only after a long period of consideration and there is a very nice side effect from our work, as Bergs work is being talked about more frequently in certain circles. Eclectic? Well, I certainly believe that I am that. Black metal, progressive rock, to classical and on, to bluegrass, jazz, rockabilly and blues - I love music, as the art form it is. Yes, even rap artists. ICP or Coolio, if it's considered music, I will give it my open minded ears =)

Yes, I agree with many others. I have quite a few friends who purchased the Wii. Guess, what? ALL of them are sitting on a TV shelf not being used, or re-sold - It gets old pretty quick. My daughter begged us to get her a Wii, but we didn't do that right away. Instead, we let her play with two of her friends Wii's. Guess what? She doesn't want one at all now, lol. If you enjoy MORPGs, RPGs, or WoW for example, the motion detecting consoles are going to be a real pain. Lots of movie fans saw Tom Cruise in 'Minority Report' using that virtual computer data base and thought, "Wow, that is cool! When Can I get that?!" Hopefully never, in my opinion. Why would we want to go backwards in advanced technologies? Really, if you think about all the physicalities of this and the extra gadgetry involved - it's actually a backward 'move'. The cartridge life is fairly short, but we stumbled upon a sale of genuine cartridges a while back, and bought the lot for two bucks a pop from a sell-off bin. Same with washer and although it lasted an additonal year, was able to match the new set.

I have to choose other on all three( I accidentally chose Bing on the search engine). I use Google Chrome, IE8 and FireFox all three for different things. I use Yahoo, Google and IXQuick Metasearch <- everyone should give that one a go round ;-) I use Horde mail, as it's one of our corporate mail utilities, also Lycos mail, Yahoo mail, Google mail, Hotmail and Horizon mail.

Open source apps, games and software are all the rage these days, so if I don't like the way Lastfm radio works, or my music profile looks, for example, I can re-write the code to my hearts content and make it function and look, just how I like it. If I purchase a game, such as Oblivion ES, I can create an entirly new game out of it, or just add a new game campaign or quests, I can create plug-ins(as we SC4 people know) also. Besides all of this, look at my sig? I can install game emulators and play NES, XBox, Genesis,(DOS too) games directly on my PC. So why would I purchase the game console? All I need do, is purchase the games and slap those into my PC and use the emulator to play, which tend to be free apps.

E: I can't count. Failed calculus in school - I have about 75 of those and that's just one of my machines, lol. E: 14 and over - I have near 30,000 and yes, I actually respond to them all and remember the more prominant, in the 100's, by name and avatar. E: 41-75 - More like 300 on an average weekday and I have 6 e-mail boxes, including my corporate/business mail. D: Windows XP, Vista, or Linux - I have WinXP, Vista(premium 64), Win2000 Pro, MAC OS 5, Win95 and yes, they are all functional and on fully operational machines. You should have asked: How many functional computers do you use, or own? I have 19 currently, but only 4 are internet ready. I haven't found the need to upgrade to Win7,...just yet anyway and I have some IT friends, prodding me to go Linux, since I am learning to write javascript.

Exceptional and very observational post Nonny Moose ;-) I worked for Gannett Corp(GNS) creators of USA Today and recently, our jobs were liquidated. Newsprint has been dying a slow death, since Windows 2000. That's about the time the stocks began to stagnate and ceased to climb that half point per market quarter. Newsprint and publishing was never a strong stock, but it was one of those long termers, you could depend on, before the internet came along. Music industry too! I am a music publicist now and actually make a tiny bit of money from this freelance offering, as more and more music artists, side step the major labels and broadcast radio, for a more direct and not as lucrative direction to the internet and digital media. I currently work for six bands, doing all their publicity work for flat fees of $200 USD per package. Everytime their is a new CD release, I get paid again and also get bunches of free merchandise, which I usually give away to friends/fans of the specific music artists. I also use the funds to purchase subscriptions to music on-demand sites for the most supportive listeners.

That was a difficult vote to make, because I use iTunes, Window Media Player and Real Player, in fairly equal amounts. I also use the Lastfm plug-in for my iTunes, iPod and WMP, so any music, or videos I play, are 'Scrobbled' to Lastfm radio website, where all my listening history is compiled and stored. Our 3 HP laptops, seem to do the job and I run 3DSMax 8.0, Adobe Illustrator CS2 and PhotoShop CS on them. The DV9000 isn't bad for $900.00, but you can go a bit higher and newer than that. NVidias 512mb video cards are doing okay for us and play all the latest games and rendering software, rather well. Right now, I am using a Dell Desktop. Don't let the nay-sayers fool you; Dells are quite great machines, as this one is from 2002 and still jams pretty good. Pentium4 3.2 gig, 2 gig ram, 512mb NVidia video now. It started out with a Pentium4 2.26 gig, 256 ram, 64 mb NVidia video and I just kept upgrading it. Only part that ever broke down in it, was the proc fan, which I also replaced with a spare, I had lying about. Didn't cost me anything : ) Dell desktops are super easy to work on and very durable, IMO.
