  1. I know you can connect the subway to the rail in SC3000. But can you do this in SC4? I know there is a subway to elevated rail connection. But why not a subway to a normal rail connection? Or am I missing something? Please help. Does anyone miss the arcos? hehehe
  2. Electronic Toll Booth

How about making one for highways!
  3. Subway to Rail Connection?

pnorell, you just cured my depression. I hated that the only connection available was subway to elevated rail. i'm excited again.
  4. Rate Rush Hour

From someone who has been playing since SC 1 in the mid 90's: New Trans Options ........5/10 (If I could solve the quirks of getting people to board and leave the monorail or el train station 8/10) U-Drive-it .....................5/10 (Not realistic enough. the chopper should crash and destroy the building if it hits it. i also cant aim the missiles of the military chopper so I trashed a lot of buildings before i was able to hit the target) European Tileset ........7/10 Bridges .......................10/10 Disasters ......................6/10 Sign's/Street Names .....6/10 (It's nice but it was never a big deal) Overall ...........................8/10 What I miss since SC1: 1) The huge map. In SC4 you develop parts of the region. In SC1, you develop the entire region as a city. We're talking billions in population. 2) No more arcos? Only oldies like me would have seen an arco. But I agree that its no big deal. 3) Subway to rail connection. Can someone tell me where it is in SC4? 4) Building cities was much more difficult. In SC1, you could start with a loan under difficult mode. Man, that's tough.
  5. These radiation emitting centers are strange indeed. First you get them as rewards, then you are advised to construct them in the middle of nowhere. Then they tell you, they bring down mayor's desire levels. But they also come up as health institutions which make me think that they are good and advance mayor's desire levels. So I say, they do no good nor harm (or both do good and harm) but should be placed in the middle of nowhere. Nothing will develop beside it anyway.
  6. I actually swore not to use add ons and make the most of what came with the CD. Anyway, when connecting to the next city, I always flatten the edge (about 5 to 10 blocks) to make sure my road or rail flats out. Then I go the the adjacent city and use the auto levelling tool and flat out the edge as well where the road and rail is connected.
  7. i have lazy moron living in my city

I go with CJ. Check the traffic menu regularly to eliminate congestion. It appears upgrading the road significantly helps reduce congestion as compared to adding bus stops. Mass transit helps likewise. I prefer building subways than train/monorail stations because I can;t seem to get the Sims board/leave the train/monorail stations. I don;t also care if my subway stations are less than 10 blocks apart, especially in dense residential and commercial areas. Once I see a station with more than 100% utilization, I'm building another close to it. Yes, I agree, some sims are just too lazy to walk to a farther subway station. I also don;t worry about long commutes (more than 30 minutes) as long as the traffic is ok (no congestions). For another strange reason, some sims dig the long journeys.
