Hello everybody, Beeing an absolute dummy when it comes to technical stuff, i'm having real struggles making a bitmap for a custom build region. When I do research about what could be wrong, I'm getting further and further off the original problem. I'll try to explain what I'm doing. I began making a bitmap with Paint for Mac. After implementing the blue 255, green 255 and red 255 squares on a 16x16 tile map, i've loaded it into SC. It didn't work. Where there had to be medium sized cities, there were just holes. Blue (4x4) and Red (1x1) however did managed to make it ingame. I've checked the BMP file, the squares were laid just fine, but after i checked the colours with the Mac 'Colour-checker', it was far off the colourvalues i've inserted. Where i've inserted R-0/G-255/B-0 in paint, the colourchecker came up with something like this: R-47/G-245/B-62. (Although I've noticed that the bitmaps from the standard cities like Berlin, Timbuktu etc. aren't in 255 blue, green or red as well, but do work) It seems that i can't produce 'pure' RGB Colours, and I don't know if it has to do with settings of my Mac, the screen for example. Afterwards i've read many fora and technical sites to try to understand the issue. Learned much about Bytes and Bits. But... It didn't help. There's just too much contradictional information. The only thing i've learned from other Mac and Simcity users was that making a bitmap on a Mac can be a pain in the ass. Someone said that he used the SC4mapper all the time, that it was much easier. So, i've downloaded that program, togheter with Wine/winebottler and an upgrade for X11/XQuartz. It took me some time to get SC4mapper started, just to notice that it wouldn't load any region at all. Now, a few days further, I've passed the point where it's getting really frustrating. I just wan't my map to have the tiles laid the way I wanted. Nothing more. No terraforming, i'll do that ingame. I hope there is someone who know a solution for the problems i'm having before I really lose interest in the game even before i've played it. Thanks, Matteo
