Spore is a game with, obviously, many interesting features, but I'm not sure SimCity fans would necessarily enjoy it. In fact (assuming that the version in the screenshots is close to being done), the cities themselves are not much more than a tiny area of high-tech buildings enclosed in walls; which I doubt more than a handful of inhabitants would be able to live in. I also don't see the importance in making the game viewable with fully-rotational 3-D. Just because most other games are doing it doesn't mean that it's worthwhile. I bet that in order to do that, they'd have to minimise the quantity (And thus the realism) of many objects in the game, not to mention the drastically increased toll on graphics cards. More screenshots I've gathered (some which overlap the ones im Simman's post) can be found at http://www.simvision.net/gallery.php?cat=Spore%20Preview .

By the way, I second one of the suggestions: A theme song from Simcity 3000 would be excellent! (For now, the SC3K songs are mp3 and thus are too big, so I'll play a Simcity 200 song for your entertainment instead.)

Being a $%&^! ¹ Post count!! Saying that having a high post count means one's not a $%&^! is like saying long-time residents of a certain town are smarter.

Downstairs. It feels more....down-to-earth. And I can jump really hard without fearing any structural damage to the building. Apple or Banana?

Wow. Buildings made out of glass. That's just like Simtropolis's current security level. I would notify someone that they're fragile. What would you do if you were writing this essay but forgot to save and lost 4 hours' of work?

8.1/10 - Occupies way too much room. The dudy in the first picture also looks rather corny.

Dial-up. I remember those days when I would celebrate after I successfully downloaded a 20-MB file. The ultimate question: ASP or PHP

As you can probably tell, I prefer speed over fanciness.

8.9 - small file size, detailed, but unoriginal.

They would crash, unless they are also helicopters. What if Nader won the election?

A thread in a Simtropolis forums is not the best, nor the most efficient way, to present a database, dev. I think you understand that. Why, I have an account at a great webhost, and I am able to easily create a new table in my REAL 'database' (MySQL) for the names. ID | Name | Location | Submitter | Date | Misc. | | | | | It will be effortless for all parties, and should be much more efficient. But before I start I have to make sure that it will be of use. How about it guys?

A word about spyware and pop up advertising.

Also, especially in Windows 2000 and higher, you can view all your running programs with the task manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del for you newbies). This is useful in detecting the background viruses and trojans. Once you are suspicious of a certain process, there's this really great site: AnswersThatWork that has a task list programs feature that basically lists all the common programs and gives you a description. That's how I get rid of most of my trojans.
