Do you mean that im not hosting a party? But i made rice crispy squares and everything....

Did anyone actually play the second one? I actually still play the first, but I always end up created a communist country, no matter how I intend the Island to be like. No matter, Vive La Tropico III! (and lets hope its similar to the first in general awesomeness)

Sarcasm Warning - This is more then just development towards missiles with greater range and the like. The evil bearded clerics of Iran plan to send up a inflated goatskin to blot out the sun in the western world! I think they plan to achieve this after Ahmadinejad's meeting with the frozen brain of Hitler and David Duke. See? All the more reason to bomb Iran back to the stone age! - Sarcasm Warning Over Lets think about this logically, and none of this 'oooh, the Iranians are evil and plan to destroy Israel' stuff. Yes, the Iranian leaders hate Israel. Yes, many of its leaders call for it to be wiped off the map. Anyone ever heard of rhetoric? The Israelis have the most powerful war machine in the middle east, along with enough nuclear weapons to make Iran glow in the dark, so I think that they can take care of themselves. But, more to the point, its a telecommunications satellite. Its not exactly if they've got the bleedin' death star up there, ready to guarantee the death of whoever the Ayatollahs disapprove of.

Originally posted by: duack Im entering this forum a little late . But here's my opinion. No matter what they do, Isreal is better and I think that this is because in Isreal, there's freedom and protection of human rights, the kind you would see in any other developed country. Palestine on the other hand, is run by terrorists, who are in violation of human rights and dont even care about the safety of their own people. Isreal is more interested in peace than Palestine, even if they are the invaders. Its pretty evident with the casualties. IMO, this seems like the kind of problem that can easily be solved with a couple of nuclear bombs, before hammas gets hold of some. Its not neccasarily a bad thing I mean, it worked in Japan 60 years ago.quote>I Think that Hamas is about 10,000 years away from building a bomb. I mean, they control a 7 mile wide strip of land. What the hell kind of nuclear power would they be?!?Plus, while Hamas are a bunch of stupid idiots who cause alot of harm to Palestinians with their unwinnable wars, i find the statement "no matter what they do, Israel is better" to be slightly unsettling. If you look into any conflict, there are no good guys and bad guys. Nothing is black and white, just different shades of gray. And please don't tell me that murdering 100,00s of civilians is "not neccasarily a bad thing". I don't care if the people Arab, or Japanese, or Israeli for that matter. Murder is wrong! I hope that some day people will realise this...

Actually, this sounds a bit like something lifted off a obscure, questionable history site. quote> The link in my post has been fixed, and here is a link for the 'about this site' FAQs. Here is the link I originally posted. quote>I believe that it states that the name Palestine comes from the philistines, not the the people we call Palestinians now are decended from the philistines. And After looking over the website, i've concluded that it is biased in favor of the Israelis. Really biased. Although im Arab, and thus will probably percive a greater bias then there actually is, i'd prefer to have someone whos niether pro-Israeli or pro-Palestinian to state their opinion on the site. I just find articles discussing a Arab plot to "get as much land as possible carved out of Israel "by peaceful and diplomatic" means, so as to make Israel indefensible and softened up for the final assault" to be a little far fetched. Just as far fetched as talk of the "Jewish controled media", which, im going to say now, is not only false, but bordering on schizophrenic. The problem with the whole Israel-Palestine thing is propoganda, in some cases, so far from the truth the Geobbels himself will be in hell thinking "i should have used that one". The problem is that no-one trusts anyone to try and establish some god-damned facts!

Palestinians never had their own state? True, But Ireland wasn't a independent country until the 20th century. Does this mean that the British should be able to heard them into ever shrinking parts of their country? (the answer is no!) Second - 1948 war happened after the Palestinians rejected a U.N resolution splitting the area into seperate Jewish and Palestinian states? True. Did the treaty propose giving 55% of the land the the 30% of the place that happened to be Jewish and of western decent? True Thirdly - The Palestinians are of Greek decent? Actually, this sounds a bit like something lifted off a obscure, questionable history site. Its a statement from a similar strain such as "all ancient Egyptians were white" and "Arabs are savages who will kill us all!". Its common sense to see, its just not true. Ethnically, the Palestinians might not be Arab. But then niether would the Syrians, Egyptians and Mahgrabis be. Oh, and for the record, most Jewish inhabitants of Israel come from Europe. Its like me going to India because my ancestors may have come back from their thousands of years ago, pushing a Indian guy out of his house, and throwing stones at him occasionally. Its called neo-colonialism, and its not very nice.

I think Hamas is being a bit stupid. Israel managed to beat Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria in 6 days, i don't think Hamas has much chance. I think their trying to get sympathy from the west with dead Palestinian civilians, which to me is a bit, well, deplorable. It ain't gonna work anyway, as western governments (not citizens though) have a bit of a track record for support Israel almost unconditionally. Though i know how the leaders of Hamas feel, they are never going to get their land back because a group of Europeans thought that their ancient ancestors came from there.

I suppose its a good thing. Still, it doesn't really make up for 1,000,000 Iraqi civilians (although the majority weren't directly killed by US forces). Still, bush should remember, two wrongs don't make a right. But 3 rights just cover them up. Can he do two more rights in 20 days?

It seems to me that Germany and Japan should not have brought the USSR and the US into the war. While they both had early successes against their respective enemies, the sheer weight of the resources and manpower of the US and USSR was certain to crush them. Maybe if the Nazis didn't let their earlier victories go to their heads, they would have done something different. But they didn't and that's for the best

Its a threat! Does this t-shirt look good on my cat?

Easy, we all get scuba diving costumes on, go the the edge of the different land masses, and push really hard!

Just for the record, Arabs have not started all the wars, its been about 50/50. The ones i know of are the 1948 war (Arab started), Suez war (Israeli started), 1967 war (Israeli started) and the Yom Kippur war (Arab started). Its a common mistake to think that the Arabs have been the main agressors in all wars. And theirs a reason the Palestinians rejected the UNs proposal for 2 states. To look at the whole Arab-Israeli thing, you just have to look at the history behind it all.

China will fall as soon as the rest of the world does. They have been a unified country since the time Rome was a small village with a well (well, mostly anyway). I don't think China, or even the current Chinese government will fall.

The region looks alot more like a developing country now. Good to see Khaled back

Originally posted by: duack Well from my experience, I've noticed that minorities are actually the most racist of all people. Im fortunate enough to have been born in Australia so I just say that to people whenever they ask me "where Im from" but my parents are immigrants from crappy countries, and when they have conversations with other relatives, they always claim thjings that are untrue. For example, they always say that Australians are lazy and that they are just lucky to have inherited stuff from their parents when that is definantly not true. They also claim that Indians are "money scavangers" and that is definantly NOT TRUE and very hypocritical from my experience in retail. And also, when my uncle married an Indonesian, they claimed that she was just going to divorce him and take half his stuff after she gained citizenship to Australia, and of course they were once again wrong. Usually, Ive noticed that the smaller a minority group is, the better they seem to think they arequote> Well, my experience of racism is nearly always white against (insert ethnicity here). I myself have been the victim of racism, dispite my very white skin (im Arab). Not once has a Asian, or a Black person insulted me in a racist way. Now i know that everyone can be racist, but i still think that whites are more racist then most other races. Or their more vocal about it. Either one is bad.Oh, and for the record, just because a countrys 3rd world, doesn't neccessarly make it a crappy country. Infact, i could think of a word some people use to describe that as....

Britain the cause of Zimbabwe's cholera crisis?
nazaguy replied to belfastuniguy's topic in Current Events
And thats not the only thing the Brits are responsible for! They are also the cause of acne, car sickness, all crime in Zimbabwe and political repression there! Plus, the Brits are the reason i got up late this morning! (sarcasm) -
Europe plans an energy 'Supergrid' to counter Russia
nazaguy replied to belfastuniguy's topic in Current Events
This doesn't really sound like energy independence. Still, im sure that Nigeria is a more trustworthy gas supplier then Russia.. -
This seems like exactly the kind of thing Monty Burns from the simpsons would be doing if he was ever elected methinks. At least we only have to wait a little while longer

Originally posted by: craizedmanic Frist let me say that I thought both partys placed men that was not what the nation needed. However I feel that McCain is the lesser of two evils. From all of the replys (as well as the nation reaction) I have notice just how blind people are. Just how ignorant the nation as a whole really is. You Obama fans rushed into a decison desparate of a change. I ask will the change you seek be the change that happens? I feel that over the frist few months the people who can truly look at the world open-minded will see that it will not be that change. I do not dislike Obama because of his race (that in no way plays a part in my feelings towards him). I am simply just trying to look at this has an open-minded person ( it is very hard to do). Some of you have dissmissed the accusations of Obamas patriotism that was placed on the internet. It stated that he chose not to face OUR flag. He does not say OUR pledge of allegiance, and that his father was enovled with terrorism. I am sure that there are others I have left out. These however are the main ones in my opinnion. Can we the American people take the chance that these statements are not true. I say no we can not. The simple possiabilty that they may be true is enough not to risk it. Unfortunately not many share my opinions. I did not get the user names but if you read them then you see it when you get to the post. The statement was made in the post that he basically could care less of the fcat that Obama did not face our flag and that he (the poster) did not pledge the allegiance anymore. That he had done it all the way through elementry school and was all pledge out. He then asked if that made him unpatriotic, and stated that his grandfather was a very decorated solider. My answer to him is Yes that makes him along with all others that do not show their respect to our nation symbols of freedom to be very UNPATRIOTIC. I also believe that his grandfarther would share my opinion. Those symbols are the very same symbols in which his grandfarther fought to protect. This great nation was founded on prinicpals that in todays world are forgotten. Anyway back to Obama. The main thing that people are not talking about is his name. You see Obama has in fact all ready changed this world this nation. Hussain is his middle name and the press is unable to place that in the main line media. Maybe I am misstaken but does the frist amendment of our Constitution not have the freedom of the press and speech in it. This simple and to many unharmful action taken by Obama is just the start of his so called change for America. For all of us that were not mislead by his words and can see him for him can tell he has a completely differnet goal than that in which he claims to have. I watched his acceptance speech last night. I watched his persona his body language. Joy and happiness were far from what he was showing last night. He smiled a total of three times I think (not many at all. He had dislike all over his face. Love for this country is not even a thought in his mind. What kinda of man especially the frist African-American man to become president not show more excitement. I feel to vote for a man because of the color of his skin is ignorant, and that goes both ways. For all that voted for McCain just because he is white is just as ignorant as those that voted for Obama just because he is black. Now just think really think if Obama as already made a change (as small as it may be to some) not being president what is to come. The freedom of the press and speech have already begun to be taken away. What right will Obama take away next in his "change". (I know things are kept out of the press all the time, but this is different. How because his name is Hussein its proven its fact. All other cover up causes what have you may or may not be true). Maybe I stand alone on this maybe I dont. Whatever the cause maybe the next four years will be interesting (if we last that long). Again I hope that my opinions are taken for what they are. That is just trying to get people to see that what looks good and sounds good is not and most of the time not good. Obama along with very other president in history always says what is needed to get elected and then does something else. I just hope the something esle is not something this nation can not handle. For the one thing you learn in history is that all great nations eventually fall.quote> Wow, your right, his middle names Hussain. I got it, he must be the re-incarnation of Saddam Hussian. Obama is part of a secret plot to destroy America!!!!!

Its a good job that McCain has been gracious in defeat. Shame about alot of his supporters. BTW, well done America, lets just hope that Obama lives up to everyones expectations.

Pakistan's President Musharraf steps down
nazaguy replied to belfastuniguy's topic in Current Events
This is long overdue really. He as only lasted this long through the support of the west, inflation is skyrocketing. He has also harmed an already weakened democratic system. -

"Emo" and "Goth" Trends To Be Banned In Russia
nazaguy replied to masochist's topic in Current Events
Finally, a country using stupidly oppressive laws for good! Looks like the a evil/benevolent dictatorship really does exist! Next can they get around to banning clip shows (their a waste of time). Or how about freedom of expression. That one always annoyed me.... -
Wow. Now he can join the ex-terrorists, like North Korea! Seriously, they didn't think of doing it before? Thats the equivelent of having Osama on the 'trusted mudahajeen' listBy the way, happy birthday nelson
