I don't know if the issue that I am having falls under the CTD heading or not. But here is the issue that I am having: Every time that my Windows 7 x64 laptop shuts down or restarts I can start SC4, but once it gets to where the game is running it minimizes. Then every time you click on the icon to get the game to come back up it acts as if it is going to start running and than goes back to being minimized. In the task manager, it indicates that the application is running. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, updating with the 638 Build (Europe), re-doing the shortcut from the patch and re-adding the -CPUCount:1 to the title in the Properties box. Eventually the game starts running correctly after uninstalling and reinstalling, but it is such a pain to have to do this every single time my computer restarts. Does anyone have any ideas why the game does this? And by chance does anyone have any ideas on how to permanently fix this issue? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Have a great day.

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium with SP1 64-bit OS, Intel® Core i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz, 8 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M graphics card with GeForce 344.11 Driver, and 1 TB HDD. I have partitioned 60 GB of my HDD space to install games in, which is where I have installed SC4. I utilize the current Norton's 360 on my computer along with MS Office 2013 and the latest builds of Adobe CS6 Master Collection and Corel Graphics 7. I hope this helps. Let me know if there is any additional information that you need to assist me with resolving this issue. SC4 was running fine without any issues whatsoever after I had resolved the initial CTD issue that I was having, which was thanks to the suggestions from members of this community, even with updates and the computer restarting until about a month ago.

Cyclone Boom, Thank you for the idea about adding -f to the shortcut target box. I did try that. Unfortunately, that idea didn't resolve the issue that I am having with SC4.

I want to connect two buildings together with an enclosed walkway where I can select the height where they connect. I have tried utilizing skywalks, but they always have to be over a road and are always close to ground level. I have seen several buildings in rear life in my travels that have an enclosed glass and steel walkway between two different buildings at various levels. I thought that it would be cool to do that in my own sim cities to add a little more realism to my cities. However, I am not exactly sure how I can accomplish this. Does anyone have any ideas? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Catty-cb and A Nonny Moose, Thank you for your assistance in getting rid of the brown box issue that I was having. It turned out to be some kind of conflict with an enhanced street mod that I had placed in the plugin folder. However, when I removed it, instead of, the actual title for the RCI box and the box to the left of it, which shows your amount of money, the titles are just hashtags (#). By chance has anyone come across this particular error before? And if so how do you fix it without completely reinstalling the game? I also started getting a pop up window warning me that there are plugins packs that aren't available on my computer and that some graphics may not appear or function correctly with the codes being given: 875026515 and 963334724. I have tried doing a search for these two particulars codes, but haven't come up with anything as of yet. Does anyone have any ideas what these two codes are referring to?

I have read all the various posts contained within this particular forum on brown boxes and how to get rid of them. However, the problem that I am having is that in place of my roads and avenues I actually have brown boxes. I have double-checked all the various dependencies using Cleanitol and everything is checking out okay, except for those dependencies that have been locked by the creator for either being outdated or causing a particular problem. None of my buildings or anything else shows up as brown boxes in the game, except for my roads and avenues. Any ideas on how to fix this problem? Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
