Thank you for the prompt reply! I decided to go ahead and throw some money at Steam. I was quite pleased to find 1.1.641 in the Details page. I do wonder what the deal is with EA/Origin giving people the short end of the stick with the Origin version. It really makes no sense. If I do get a reasonable response from them, I will certainly post about it. With any luck, it would result in a positive change to their distro. One can hope at least...

Good evening, I've got my copy of SC4 from Origin, which was apparently an unwise decision (akin to having Origin in general). I have the same "Old file not found" error mentioned above when I attempt to patch it. For grins I tried the SKU 2 patch which did not work either. Does anyone know of a workaround for this yet or is there a way we can build one? I may end up just buying the game again from Steam, which is what I should've done in the first place. Either way, I'm going to file a complaint with EA, though from their history I doubt I'll get any resolution whatsoever.
