  1. Short answer, it's hurting them. Their micro-transaction based game no longer needs them to create content now that it's offline. If they restrict the content that is made then there will still be money made from "expansion packs" but with the modding community we can make stuff and it's free. They want to restrict the community made content as much as possible so they stay relevant.
  2. Resource Mods

Much appreciated! I am continuing to look through things but outside of just editing and testing I don't know. Would be nice if their was a quick way to test any changes on stuff like this. Well, other than the game just crashing if it doesn't work...lol
  3. Yea but I would like the ability to make it a little more realistic. An actual coal mining area will stay relevant for decades before the coal runs out. Same with oil fields, mines, etc. These resources last for long periods when companies claim them because the cost is too high to go after the small insignificant deposits. I would just like to have a city that is sustainable with resources for a more extended period of time.
  4. I have been browsing the forums and have yet to find a mod that allows either unlimited resources or something that extends the amount of resources a city has access to. From my time playing the game I have found that resources don't last anywhere near what they should. Since cities have to specialize to survive the resources need to last for decades instead of years. Of course unlimited would be nice too but it just depends on the person. Since I have yet to find anything I decided to mess around with it myself and see what I can work out. With that in mind, I need some help from people who have been tearing through the package files and getting all the info needed to create the mods we have right now. If you guys know what files effect the resource numbers in a region I would greatly appreciate the information. I have found the water tables and oil brush variables but I don't know if that will directly effect the resource amounts on the map. If anyone has any info on this please share. I will keep working through all the info as well to see what I figure out.
  5. I am actually looking for something like this as well. I don't know about unlimited resources but it seems to me that the resources run out very quick. It should take decades to exhaust resources instead of years.
