I have a bunch of bats/lots that are supposed to have a parking lot texture, but instead have grass. I have all of the dependencies. Is there some conflict here?

Sorry for lack of pictures. It's not just simgoobers, I get it with other random ones too. Basically the texture is just replaced with green grass. I am pretty dang sure I have all of the dependencies...though hard to say, there's so many. I can redownload them I guess. Thanks for the help

I tried to provide cities for people to download a while ago...but a lot of people here went ballistic because of the custom content I provided with the city.

It's "easily" possible...I have done it. You just have to make liberal use of the traffic blocker lots to allows only bus and truck traffic. Plop them EVERYWHERE! You have force the sims to use transit. I've gotten nearly all of my city using transit (mostly bus, they still haven't figured out the rail system!).

I forget the name of the program, but in windows explorer you just select all the photos you want, right click and select convert to. Very easy

Uninstall the '08 NAM and run the '07 install. Where to find the old version should be your question.

Man, I'm still getting crashes after I tried what shadow suggested... there's no hope!

I tried to use the that method Shadow_Assassin, and I works so far. I played for over an hour with no crashes when it usually crashes within 20 minutes. Thanks for that tip!

Coming from Chicago, I must say that grids are a reality. Chicago is perhaps one of the trailblazers for the gridded city. In real life it in fact DOES reduce congestion...if road A is not moving fast, just go 1/2 mile north to the next arterial and it may be moving more smoothly. Areas with out the grid usually have only 1 or 2 arterials serving the area, which means if anyone needs a through-street that road fills to capacity real quick. The grid also makes it insanely easy to navigate around the city. Lastly, the grid DOES make transit easier to plan and use. Using the bus in Chicago is a 2-seat ride ANYWHERE in the city. It's no wonder the CTA bus system has over 1 million daily riders (CTA rail = ~600,000). So yes, I love grids, because thats what I know.

I have 3GB ram and sc4 will run real smooth and I still randomly get these crashes. Where can I get the datapacker? I dont see a download link when I go to that url jeronij. Must I register to yet another forum for this download?

I've gotten very close to 1 mil (700,000) on a large tile back in my "sckyscrapercity" days. I hate building like that though, just a sea of office and residential high rises.

I'm sure it's fun some some people. But most of the die hard Simcity fans will be looking for something much more like CU looks to be delivering.

Undoubtedly two of the greatest cities in North America and the world... They are like cheesecake and pizza: both delicious but you really cannot compare the two. I do feel however that Chicago is the only US city that can even remotely be compared to NYC. NYC is a 1st tier Alpha city, Chicago is 2nd tier Alpha city...

I get that sometimes...it's just a glitch with the dataview. If you get green buildings with school, hospitals, or police/fire stations, just go into dataview, check the appropriate category, and check it back off...should be fine

Thanks for the help...but I will be re-installing XP over the weekend. I need some apps to WORK that I need, like ArcGIS, AutoCAD, etc... also this will give me a chance to play simcity for real. Too bad I couldn't get it working.

Thanks Dragon, I have it set to XP....so I'll try reinstalling. I tried it also with cedega and no luck, my screen just freezes up.
