I have a city called Annatown with about 800 000 residents at the moment with 0% unemployment and about 65 000C in profit per turn. Taxes is at 13% for Residents and 14% for Commercial. And I just keep on building retail, the citizens are never satisfied! So far I got 45 High Density Retail Zones placed along roads that have a lot of passengers and still the demand for retail is quite high. Elite, executives, and qualified residents all complain that there is too little retail, even though most of them live quite near retails stores. I got one Elite area across the street from 4 high density retail zones and they even complain about retail. Retail is also almost to the very left of the "offer - demand" scale. Any ideas? Bug? Should I just keep on adding retail?

Thanks for the input. I have now balanced the retail so the citizens no longer complain about retail. It took quite a lot of work, but I got some interesting results from it. Will post some screenshots soon of my creation, probably when I have reahed 1 000 000 citizens in a few days

Looks like you off to a good start! I am using the same map for my second city and I love the different types of terrain it has. Flatlans, lakes and some hills. Perfect. It will be interesting to see how your city unfolds with the "slow and easy approach"

My game started crashing today. I have only played it on Windows 7 and it has worked like a charm. But now whenever I build a road the game crashes, and building a city without roads ain't easy. Tried starting a new city on a different map but still have the same problem. The weird thing is that nothing has changed since yesterday when the game worked without any flaws for 2 sessions of about 2hrs each. No new drivers, no new hardware, no updates. Nothing. It just crashes. So far it has crashed 7 times for me, and I have restarted the computer several times and it still crashes

I have read that there's a lack of a activity going on in the cities, and for example, the basketball courts are not used. For me at least I do see people playing basketball in the courts and people cheering on with HIGH graphics, but not with Medium graphics. Is this the same for everyone else?

Sure there will be a lot more people when you use high instead of very low, but still there are far too few people around. Plenty of cars though, but with high density residential, offices, and retail on the same street I expected it to be far more people around than there actually is...

I preordered the game, had real difficulty getting it to work (MC said my serial was invalid) but technical support game me a new one. When I finally got the game going I noticed that there is no Solo Mode option available, only planet mode. Does anyone else have the same problem? Not really interested in the planet mode at the moment, want to learn and get a feel for the game first!

Thanks! I sure hope MC work during weekends since my planet offer trials expires after today since it was activated the same day as I bought the game...which I find very strange. Otherwise my GF is going to see a lot more of me than she has planned!
