  1. New Sim Nation Region: Post Apocalyto

Ready to get back into this Chicken. Been busy, catch up with me some evening. Hope things are going well!
  2. New SimNation Region of the Week 3/8/15

    Both added to Origin.
  3. Welcome to the SimNation Region of the Week. Every week our group will start a new region with a theme, and hoping for activity, design, and style! Smokestack Alley Region of the Week, March 8, 2015 Server: North America East 1 Contact: MagicChicken19, Lawnphysics, Xieria, KRLLL The rapid development of SimNation has garnered a terrible trade deficit. Imports alone can no longer sustain the Gross Domestic Product of SimNation. Many Mayors across SimNation are lacking the necessary freight and Omega to develop their cities, and the growth of SimNation is on the line. SimNation leaders came together with a vengeance to do something about the issue so the economy of SimNation could continue and not collapse. A new region in the Delta's on the Southern Coast of SimNation was tapped for development; and a group of creative Mayors was tasked with filling this burgeoning trade deficit. During the Simgressional and Simarliament development committee meetings, a region of SimNation Public lands was released for development, and was dubbed “Smokestack Alley.” RULES: One plot per Mayor Please! These regions have in recent weeks been popular and we want every Mayor to have an opportunity to develop a city that wants to! Banned: Academy, MegaTowers, Electronics, Casino's. CONTROL YOUR CRIME. CRIME TIPS: This is one of those things where getting a police station and grade school up as soon as you possibly can will pay the region dividends later on. Yes, this may cost you a little slow development up front but getting those plopped in there early will save you in the long run. Pay attention to education, education is key to preventing crime. Make sure your jails are not full, plop baseball parks. Do NOT bulldoze a jail with criminals inside. They are released and become at large for the region to clean up. You want to maintain four out five hats for education. This is a good rule of thumb for education level. Try to be neighborly with this, I use to be guilty of not taking care of crime myself, but it really is quite easy to control. If you are having trouble with criminals ASK the region for help early on. Also, post here, on the thread if you need help, some of us are in different time zones and are on at varying times of the day! Many neighboring mayors will be more than happy to send some detectives or police cars your way to help you prevent the problem. At the request of some mayors, please, no casinos, as they generate criminals. Suggestions: Industry zoning. Export facilities, air, rail and sea. Mining. Metals. Omega. Basically anything Smokestack-dirty industry is theme based. Tourism is good to go, but try to keep it in the theme! Most importantly have fun and be creative!
  4. New Sim Nation Region: Trucker's Paradise

I love the double Great Works thing. I wish I knew what causes that glitch lol. So who is ready to start a new region?! I know I am. You guys get back to me on Origin and I will set it up if you are ready!
  5. New Sim Nation Region: Trucker's Paradise

When are you coming back Chicken? Chaos, Krill and I have amazing cities going on our corner of the Region! You got to check out Chaos' use of Bridges, and Krill made an awesome design with the lay of his plot! You are going to love those!
  6. Why should the person above you be banned? V2

This looks fun, I am going to jump on this train for a little bit, but don't expect mine to make any sense... Banned for not knowing the meaning of :
  7. New Sim Nation Region: Trucker's Paradise

I don't know if they are right or wrong, but they sure work really well handling traffic flow. I would say this is the best city I have built yet.
  8. New Sim Nation Region: Trucker's Paradise

Here is some work in Trucker's Paradise. You can see Chaos' City in the Skyline behind the first shot. This is my first interchange, I forgot what this type is called. I have done a trumpet before. This city has tunnels for arteries supplying the trade and the residential access. The way it is built, there is no way in or out of the city without using the interchange. Enjoy! https://imgur.com/a/DDce7#0 We also have some open spots left!
  9. Does anyone know where I can find Skye's Regional Freeway Mod. I had to clean install my game and I went to download it and the links are broken. I also can not find the Add Drones to Small Fire and Police Stations. Thanks Guys!
  10. New Sim Nation Region: Green is the new Orange

It was sort of part of the plan I had. I wanted to go with the Mafia and Prohibition, So I made crims by doing everything you are Not suppose to do to prevent them. So no education, and small police stations with no cars and one jail, had them crims at large rolling of there. It really was intentional. I think the most crims, before this region, that I have ever had was 160 or so at large. It got way out of had though when it hit 700. Thanks Panos for taking it for what I was trying to make out of it. Just was doing something different. I had an entire city journal set up I should post so you can understand how I got there and why. I Will edit it and get it up here if you want to see it.
  11. New Sim Nation Region: Green is the new Orange

I have been doing a few regions with Magic Chicken. He started the region of the week about a month ago and I am hoping to stay in every region he makes. I am actually learning a lot and he is encouraging me and helping me to think outside the "square." By the square I mean square grids. This time I am keeping a Journal. If you enjoy following stories I am going to try to make this a story. If not just skip my first post and if you want to follow me check out the screen shots throughout the development of this city. This will also be my first city to focus mainly on crime prevention/education (I am sure Panos will thank me for this and mjohnson sorry about that last city guys, I tried to blend it in by making the city "Mafia based" from the 20s' ...sucks though when the city has a population of 2,200 and 700 of them are crims at large!!), pollution prevention (theme of the new region), and also my first attempts at interchanges. I sincerely invite advice and constructive criticism. Thanks for reading, and taking your time to check this city out! I have lately started to like the way Latin words sound with the city names, so I have been incorporating them into my Cities for something unique and fun. The name of the city is: Viridis Viculus - Meaning 'Green Hamlet.' Link to Journal: Enjoy!!!! If you want an invite to the region add me on Origin. Origin name is same as simtropolis!
  12. This is my first city journal. The first post will be a little long to set groundwork. If you enjoy following stories I am going to try to make this a story. If not just skip my first post and if you want to follow me check out the screen shots through out this city. This will also be my first city to focus mainly on crime prevention/education, pollution prevention (theme of the region), and also my first attempts at interchanges. I sincerely invite advice and constructive criticism. Thanks for reading, and taking your time to check this city out! I have lately started to like Latin words, so I have been incorporating them into my Cities for something unique and fun. The name of the city is: Viridis Viculus - Meaning 'Green Hamlet.' Concilium - Council Enjoy!!!! Concilium Journal Mayor Lawnphysics was approached by a group of green entrepreneurs to help establish a new green region that was recently opened for development by Sim Nation. A group of philanthropists banded together to form the first Concilium, the first meeting took place at the Mayor's House. The order of business was decided by Concilium Member Kaley Houston and Payton Peterson. Concilium Member: LawnPhysics - Mayor Kaley Houston- Secretary (No vote except to break tie, personal request). Payon Peterson- Treasurer Malik Muzuz - Utilities Department Ted Cruz - Member Bryson Lloyd - Member Lacy Jensen - Member Reynaldo Mathews - Member Sage Shaffer - Member The following is a list of minutes from the first meeting. 1) The first power plant, a windmill, was to be built on the East of the City, as well as industry. When the treasury grew advanced solar technologies would be the next step to meet growing energy needs. 2) The location of the first water tower, school fire station was committed. The zoning board will meet on the 25th of each month to determine locations of future development. 3) Mayor Lawnphysics had managed many cities in the past, his experience was one of the reasons he was approached by the entrepreneurs. He highly recommended at least a 20% expenditure rate on Education and the Police Force. Lawnphysics basically said he would rather retire than deal with the crime rate he did in the last city he managed. 4) Concilium Members decided to pursue Major Academy Research projects by year three of founding because the technology from the Academy was mostly green based. All nuclear and possible dirty research was banned. Any Sims found tinkering or researching these banned technologies would be fined 1.75 million Simolians or 25 sim years imprisonment or both depending on the level of pollution emitted. The maximum penalty is both plus exile from the city once the sim paid the fine or served his sentence or both depending on the severity of the crime. Certain industries will be allowed development after ground scrubber technology is feasible and affordable for the city. Councilium Member Malik Muzuz recommended that the electronics industry be pursued at that point. His recommendation is based on the fact that many sims will want new ULTRASIM Televisions, SimPhones and Quantum Computers. Some Concilium Members believe Malik Muzuz is hoping to monopolize on his past electronic experiences. 5) Due to the overwhelming pollution in Sim Nation, and the demand for clean development many Concilium Members were concerned that there would be a run on clean land with high land values. The Concilium decided to build two tunnels accessing the SimState and SimNation accessed off a round-a-bout. In the future, if there was no run on the clean development, interchanges and freeways would be built at the access point. This was decided because the tunnels could be destroyed and the narrow pass would be easily defensible if necessary. 6) Tax Rates were set at 7% for early development, with an increase to 9% when population hit 2,000, and 11% when population hit 5,000. Development would be halted for a few years while the region treasury grew at 5,000. 7) The great works was discussed. The Concilium wants an Arcology but will default to the vote of the neighboring Mayors. Lawnphysics was in agreement as he wanted to work with other mayors to make this the cleanest region in Sim World. 9) Concilium Member Ted Cruzs' Llama was discovered outside the Mayor's house eating his Sim Roses and Spitting on the window so the meeting was adjourned early. Cruz apologized to the mayor. The Mayor told Cruz it was no big deal that his seventeen pet Llamas would be here next week.
