Freight not going in or out of cities in the region.
leptooners posted a topic in SimCity (2013) Technical Help Q&A
I have four cities in a region, two of them right next to eachother. One city has residential and industrial, the other has residential and commercial. The city with the shops has thousands of unfilled freight orders and the city with industrial has plenty available, but they won't communicate with eachother. Traffic isn't too bad and the cities are right next to eachother. They also seem to be having issues with commuting workers. I thought these problems were supposed to have been fixed by now? -
Show of hands - Pre-ordered and still around?
leptooners posted a topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
So, did you pre-order the game and are still enjoying it? Do you regret your purchase or do you think you've more than gotten your moneys worth? Do you have every DLC available? Personally, my only regret is not buying a physical copy and going the digital deluxe route. Even though the game is still bugged as hell, I would gladly buy it today had I not pre-ordered it. Your thoughts? -
I'd love to join you. My Origin is LeptoonERs. I would like to find some people that will stay active and do a large region. Which region are you using and what server are you on?

Where can I find an Oral-B product with the promo?
leptooners posted a topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I've looked everywhere, Wal-Mart and other stores, and I can't find an Oral-B product with the SimCity promo. I would like to have everything SimCity related that I can, and the fact that I have to buy an Oral-B product and can't just get it from Origin kind of irritates me. Are there any specific products I should be looking for, or just everything Oral-B? Are they even selling the promo items anymore? -

Where can I find an Oral-B product with the promo?

Wow I wish someone had told me that before now... Why do they advertise on the US website and to players on US servers if it's not available in the US? -

I can see the logic in the idea. Only time will tell I suppose. -

The cities do need to be larger... But once you get past that and become addicted, there's no turning it off, for me anyway. I can never get my cities to behave the way I expect them to, and that in itself is actually a very appealing aspect. Okay I'll pass that along to the devs. Just kidding. I can't really agree with you on the agriculture though. I know it's been said many times, but agriculture just seems like it wouldn't be able to provide as much profit per square foot as the other specializations. Maybe I'm not seeing the whole picture, but that's my thought on the matter. It does not always have to be about profit per square foot, its about the fun of building the city. I build coal cities, even though it would be more profitable to build an electronics city, I do it to do something different, I play with all the specialization types, if every city built PCs and TVs the game would indeed get boring. An agricultural city wouldnt rake in the cash like a high tech city, but it should would be a ton of fun to play. Granted small city tiles limit how a proper rural agricultural "city" would look, I think they can make it work and I am sure we will see a DLC in the future, but hopefully a big one, not just a ploppable farm, but an entire specialization with lots of building types, different crops, animals and processing facilities. New commercial buildings to fit the theme, farm supply, vegetable stands, etc.. Sounds awesome to me. I can see your point, but while the game does need to be fun, it also needs to make you feel like your being productive. Many people wouldn't be turned on to the idea of using large areas of land for unprofitable reasons no matter how fun it may be, because that won't help you "win" this game. If agriculture had more uses such as health benefits, it would make more sense. But I can't see a field of corn the size of two large industrial buildings making as much in taxes. Sure you can add more stuff like veggie stands, but all your left with is less space and not enough income. IMO of course. -

I completely agree with you about the city sets. I wish there were simply a theme option and you could start out your city in one of the themes, and you make some other interesting points. Thanks for your input! Yeah I also think they rushed the launch by at least a month or so, and they didn't do any beta testing. They did marketing demo releases, not beta tests.. I didn't know Amazon did a pre-sale sale! I wish I had taken advantage of that, but at the same time, I'm not complaining. It's worth the money. -
Don't want my city to die the 5.0 death!
leptooners replied to Xr3iracer's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
In my old cities before I deleted them, the reason I deleted them is because the RCI stats all said zero, there were almost no cars moving because of so many glitched cars stuck together (which still happens in my new region), and every sim in every city was completely unhappy because they couldn't move due to the overwhelming traffic glitches. But these cities were last played in update 2.0. I'm sure if I had given them some TLC, they would have been fine. But that TLC would have involved completely demolishing the entire city. -
Anybody going to purchase the Airships port?
leptooners replied to infoman96's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
My apologies, I scoured the web for info about this airship DLC but found nothing, and therefore assumed a troll. Assume = makes an ASS out of U and ME. It was released one hour later. To answer your question, yes I will be buying it eventually. But I can't spare any money for a game right now... *sigh* -
Hmm, only 13% of Indonesians use broadband (10% mobile, 3% fixed), while penetration in Indonesia is (only) around 25%, so half of Indonesian netizens still use dial up or other narrowband technologies. There are still lots of people using dial-up in the US as well. It's isn't completely gone yet, it's a cheap alternative to satellite when you can't get anything else.

Trouble reinstalling the game - can't play it!
leptooners replied to pedroferreiralp's topic in SimCity (2013) Technical Help Q&A
I would suggest you install the game from Origin. Origin will solve any problems you might be having with files, it verifies everything automatically. If you have the physical copy you can put the registration code into your Origin account and download/install it digitally. It's in Origin under "Origin->Redeem Product Code". As well as being easy to use, you have to have Origin to download any DLC like the amusment park or the digital deluxe edition content. In fact, I'm surprised that the game disk allowed you to install it without Origin in the first place. -
Sorry, you're in the same boat as I am. The RCI stats are almost completely bugged.

The trouble with making assumptions based on no evidence or fact at all is that those assumptions tend to be inaccurate. In the real world, SDSL speeds are the same for both upload and download. For example, a 256kbps SDSL line would be 256kbps Up and Down. The more common form of DSL would be ADSL, which would have faster download speed than upload, but generally the upload speed would be greater than 56kbps. So therefore, my recommendation is this. SimCity will play just fine on DSL, if you're willing to contend with server disconnections and the ocasional two day lag. I doubt you'll even be able to connect to the game with 56k dial-up, but if I were you I would try anyway.

Power plant about to melt down

This is completely unnecessary. There is a really awesome program built into Windows called Task Manager. You can use it to force close SimCity. -
Cops not arresting anyone for a long time after water shortage.
leptooners posted a topic in SimCity (2013) Technical Help Q&A
I've noticed that once the police station is shut down due to a water shortage, after the cops are back on the street, they won't arrest anyone for at least a day. Is this a bug or a feature? -
Don't want my city to die the 5.0 death!
leptooners replied to Xr3iracer's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
I just updated today after not playing since just after the release of update 2.0. In my experience, every one of my cities were completely unplayable no matter what I did. I ended up abondaning the region and starting completely from scratch. Good luck.
