$C demand is sky high, but so is my $$C
yoge123 replied to yoge123's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
$$C desirability covers my whole city, eve parts where I haven't even built anything. I will try and make a dirty area with no education etc see if that works. I don't have CAM but $$R is most of my residents. I have no problem attracting them. I zone low density C but they turn into $$C. -

I have to throw in another thing. I have a small tile neighbor that I use. I use it for some dirty I, low wealth R and farms. It has no education or anything to attract medium and high wealth. It does have water, but even my low wealth commerical in this dump of a city turned into medium wealth commercial from demand from my big city. This goes to show you that medium wealth commercial will build anywhere. I have no burger joints anywhere I did that to a few buildings. Made them historical. But it would be to much work to do it for all the buildings I want. -

The thing is, my low wealth residents seem to only live in giant apartment buildings. All of my low and medium density residential are mansions and condos. I have 1 medium wealth giant and the rest are low wealth brown giants lol. Also, I don't have any dirty I in my city but I want burger joints, gas stations etc without taxing my high wealth and medium wealth C out of my town. I am building a downtown. -
I want low wealth shops in my town. I want to diversify the commercial. But every time I get demand for $$C, my $C upgrade to $$C. Is this a bug because I played this game before and I encountered the same problem. I had tons of commercial in a city but not a single low wealth commercial. No matter if I zone low density, still only $$C appears even though my $C demand is very high.

Is the demand for farms and dirty industry never ending?
yoge123 replied to yoge123's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Well, you are supposed to use all versions together . The base mod, handily called "Base Pack", can be found Caution: You have to start a new region to use this mod. It replaces all existing industry lots, so it will mess up your game if you use it in your existing regions, unless you dezone all your industry before installation (which will probably mess up your game, anyway). Of course, you can try in paused mode. Thanks, but thats to many downloads. I will just do it the normal way. -

Hey, I searched that mod but there are like 7 different versions. Can you link the one you use? I like that idea, it will be helpful. -
1. Is there a difference between the 6 lane road and the 6 lane avenue? 2. I am having trouble making a little curve with the 6 lane road. Is it possible to make a small curve?

Is the single tile four lane avenue from NAM better than...

...the two lane road from Maxis? Does it hold more traffic? Are are the four lanes on the single tile avenue from NAM just for looks? -
The leveling lots really helped. This is what I used. I lowered part of my coast line with the lot and then I flattend my entire city area the same level as my coast line. So now I can begin to build. Thanks for the help.

I am trying to put my residential zoning evenly flat with the board walk like in this pic below. But I end up doing this I cant get it right like the top pick. This is very frustrating.

How do you flatten land without doing it square by square?
yoge123 replied to yoge123's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Still the same problem. I guess I will have to terraform the land more even. -

Ok thank you, I think this will work. I didn't think that was to flatten land, always thought it was to make plateau lol. -

I know you can use a road and just dot the land square by square to make it even. But is there a way to flatten land quicker? I am trying to lay some avenues down but it is looking kinda bumpy. I seen a video on youtube few days ago where the guy laid down two rail roads along side the road to make the land flat but it isnt working when I do it. Anyone know how to flatten land? Here is what I am talking about.
