Ah, I misspoke. I can see how what I posted before was misunderstood a bit. I certainly made it sound like I was against all anti posts in this thread. Actually, that's not the case. I don't want to leave behind misunderstandings, so I'll clarify, then I'll be finished with this. I am against anyone who posts in here and declares their hatred. It is insulting, uncivil, and unconstructive, whether it is meant to be or not. Multiple viewpoints means that one person may feel as if they are hating the sin whereas the others can't help but take that to be hating the person as the sin, we feel, is who we are. Careful, it may not be an insult to you, but it definitely is to many of us. Then there are others who have come in here and made clear that they think we are not normal (no biggie, after all, who is?) but who have also managed to carry on a decent conversation with the rest of us on other topics other than pro/anti. In short, please speak with us, and please don't talk at us. And now for something completely different... My parents are here in Toronto visiting. Last night, I took them to a place called Zelda's, which is owned by a drag queen (Zelda) and staffed by the more swishy variety of waiters. Nina, the manager and another drag queen, spent a lot of time flirting with my dad. He thought it was a hoot. Mom spent a lot of time talking fashion with her and my bf didn't even realize she was a man until halfway through the meal. She was awfully convincing. My life hasn't been a cakewalk by any stretch of the imagination, but I do feel I'm quite fortunate to have such parents. ISF

That's the attitude to have, thatmonkeysim. It's the attitude that kept me sane for the last couple of years. It's turning out to be pretty much useless responding two the naysayers who seem to like to enjoy occasionally barging in here. Part of that has to do with the fact that the actual argument lies elsewhere in the following two points: 1) Whether or not homosexuality is right or wrong is beside the point. I really don't care if anyone thinks it's wrong. What I do and what I am hurts nobody which therefore makes it nobody else's right to interfere. 2) <--and most important. It disturbs me that some people seem compelled to barge into this thread with anti-homosexual rants. Just let us have our happy thread here and stay out of it. I don't see anyone barging into dev's Good news thread with messages of how wrong Christianity is. Why must this thread suffer so? This is the off-topic section and there will always be multiple viewpoints. If you have something constructive to say, post. If not, don't. As for this thread, leave us alone. Besides, the anti postings here only reinforce the point throughout this thread that all we want is a normal, private life. That's it. I'm done. No more responding to anti posts. Throughout this thing, I've said all that I can think of and everyone else has said everything that I didn't. There's no more left to do but spin our wheels. Now, to turn this thread back to positive: Today, my fiance and I became officially, totally legal permenant residents. All of the government b.s. we had to go through is finally over! [dumps confetti] Our wedding is in May. You're all invited! I was hoping to get married before I'm 30 and have gray hair. Now I can only hope I'm married before I'm 30... Stupid aging process... Nothing makes you feel older like going shopping for your first box of Just for Men. Mom and Dad are either going to give us a trip to Nova Scotia or buy us a bedroom set for our gift. They won't tell me which... ISF

It seems there is confusion over terminology here. What is meant by gay lifestyle? What it really refers to is the hard-core clubbing and bathouses, etc. People who live/eat/sleep/breathe gay all day long. I too despise that lifestyle inasmuch as it's not the lifestyle for me. But often people say gay lifestyle to mean homosexuality in general. If this is what you despise, then you hate me. That is not love; that is hatred. And it's anything but civil. It is not possible to profess love for anyone and then despise who they are (or even their choices) when it has no affect on anyone else's life. It's an inherent contradiction. Let us assume for a moment that you are right: that homosexuality is unnatural. Does anything I do hurt you in any way? No. Does anything I do affect you in any way? No. So who cares if it's unnatural? Computers are also quite unnatural. Few people seem to have a problem with them. Yes this comparison is ludicrous: just as ludicrous as stating that homosexuality is a choice. After all, can anyone of the straight folks here tell me when they decided to be straight? On a final note, everyone here knows that I don't believe in god, but ironically, a look at my fiance's face makes me reevaluate that belief, if only for a moment. ISF

Thanks. I like the new avatar too. Particularly since only a handful of people could possibly know who it is. Still, if I can get him published, he could be more well-known and I would like that too. The trick is to find someone who can draw so that we can collaborate. I'm a pretty good storywriter, but my drawing skills stink. In other words, I didn't draw that. Somebody more talented than me did. ISF

High school is only as hard as you make it. Sure, you could work your rear off, but you don't have to. People say you need good grades in high school to go to a good college. Rubbish. I was a C student at best and still was accepted into Georgetown. ISF
