Hi everyone I'm DinosGG and I've been working on a tutorial gameplay series for how to build a Casino town. My goal for these videos is to walk you through step by step how to build a Casino town, what to do when problems show up and how we're going to be able to fix them. Major issues I will try and tackle include crime, traffic, and the general unstable nature of the Casino income compared to trade income. In no way is this city perfect or the only way to build a city with Casinos in it, but I've had a lot of fun playing it and thought I would share it with all of you. Oil has a few big advantages because you can start earning money really fast, there isn't as much build up time as electronics. Hi everyone DinosGG and I've got the final part for oil all finished! Part 4: Part 4 is basically just the closing for the series, I've got all the ground work set to make as much money as I feel like making! I go over some of the trading numbers and do a small bit of optimization on my Oil Fields. There was a comment I was getting a lot on youtube and apparently you don't have to place the oil well main building on top of oil, it's just the pumpjacks that need to be on top of Oil, I wish I had known this before I started, great find from the viewers! Yes but considering the boats can take 20,000 units and come twice a day, unless you've got so much manufacturing that you're making more than 50 shipping units a day (counting 50 since there are trucks too) it shouldn't be a factor.

Hey everybody DinosGG here and this is part 3 on my series on how to build a drilling city! We're getting close to the end Oil is a great starting point for a new city it will earn you a ton of money really quickly! Part 3: The full playlist: In part 3 I start moving onto the refinery to make me money. A key thing about the Refinery is the difference between plastic and fuel. 1.2 units of oil ($9000 per shipping unit) make 2.4 units of plastic ($21000 per shipping unit), where fuel is made by 2.4 units of oil gets converted into 2.4 units of fuel (36000? per shipping unit). So basically plastic earns you $42000 for the same amount of oil, it's much more economical to make and export plastic since the global market still isn't enabled. Oil certainly seems a lot easier than other cities the cost is so cheap to get them running and the hourly is basically nothing. More videos coming soon glad you've enjoyed watching!

Tourism in general seems a LOT more profitable after the patch! At one point on a test city I was doing with just the tourism buildings and no casinos they were making well over $200k every day in the neighborhood of 10,000+ tourists. Would you guys be interested in seeing another video series for casinos later on down the road to show off these new changes?

We found out something pretty interesting on the stream last night, your consumer electronics factory requires a certain education level in order to function at full capacity. My university wasn't close enough in another city I was building and so my factories were only running at half capacity. Anybody remember or know if that was in before patch 2.0? I never remember running into that problem. ALso another thing we found is the tooltips say each factory can product 3600 but were only ever producing 2400 at maximum. Anyone ever get a single factory making 3600 (or 14400) Computers or TVs?

Coming either tonight or maybe tomorrow I'm going to do a breakdown on what is most cost efficient after the patch with the price changes to trade. I haven't taken a look at what Electronics has been selling for in quite awhile. Stay tuned! Also check out my playthrough of Evoland if you haven't already, it's an old classic style RPG that made it through the steam greenlight process. I've never quite seen a game similar to this it's pretty unique!

DinosGG and this is part 25 of my series on how to build a casino town! I get another opera house plopped down to start making even more money! With it I manage to hit 100k in gambling profit! From here on out I basically just try to see if I can hit 200k through tricks and microing the casinos on and off at key times to try and make the max amount of profit. But in my mind the city is complete from here. The reason for this, the gaming division does nothing for your high wealth casinos because roulette houses are broken, and the lodging division is so expensive and useless compared to the free hotels I have zoned. I'm still not even sure if the entertainment division is worth it because it isn't drawing tourists to that specific casino. If I had laid out my city a little different/better than this would be more profitable. This is the effective end of the series, I will post the remaining parts just in case you're interested.

The problem is there is no way to force the commercial to zone into a hotel. You either just have to bulldoze it over and over again and get lucky or.. well that's really the only option! haha

Hey everyone DinosGG and I've got a couple more parts to the series! Part 20: Part 21: In part 20 I decide to take a tip from one of the viewers and place down the opera house! In order to do this I have to bulldoze my expo center and if you've been watching the previous videos then you know how much money this has been making for me and what a risk this is! Hopefully it ends up paying off and not bankrupting me, which you'll see in part 21! I'll have parts 22 and 23 up tomorrow so stay tuned!

Hello everyone DinosGG here and I've got a few more parts of the series here for you! Part 17 : In part 17 I try out some new positions for the gambling houses that I originally had success with. It seems really weird that I STILL haven't broken the 100,000 requirement for the Gambling HQ quest, this city is so much harder to build than electronics was! We will get there though. Part 18: This is actually the first part where any of the gameplay gets skipped. So basically what happened here was I kept trying to record and about 5 minutes into the recording I would disconnect from the server, which pauses the in game clock (why the clock runs server side is beyond me). For those of you thinking ahead, this will of course pause the expo center showtime which is where a lot of my cash is coming from right now. This also pauses casino activity (casinos seem to be a lot more active at night). In between the start and this final recording I basically start trimming out my population I cut roughly 40k people from my city to try and trim down traffic and city services required. Thanks again everyone for watching this series is really going a lot longer than I thought it was going to. Yeah if you are really really strapped for cash he is pretty tough to deal with. Luckily with trade you usually have the money to deal with it, depending on where he goes of course.
