  1. Has anyone found a way to disable or unbind video cap? I hate fumbling for my bulldozer and having the whole thing slow to a crawl because it's recording. I will never use that feature and it just chews up drive space and CPU/GPU time.
  2. SimCity with Parallels on Mac

Also, for Yomatiase, your 2008 iMac should have a Geforce 8800 GS in it. That's one generation above the minimum specs required by the game, so while you will see a significant improvement in performance compared to parallels, you will still be fairly limited in how high you can turn up the graphics.
  3. SimCity with Parallels on Mac

To help you all better understand what you're experiencing, Parallels and VM Fusion are both virtual machines with no direct access to your graphics hardware and with reduced access to CPU and memory thanks to what is called a virtualization layer. Boot Camp is designed to run Windows more or less natively as if you had a PC with drivers that directly access all of your hardware normally (because despite all the extra money you spend on a Mac, a Mac and a PC have the exact same hardware in them). This is why games that use 3D rendering perform abysmally on Parallels and VM Fusion but Boot Camp seems to run them well. When gaming, go Boot Camp all the way. Also, if you don't already have one, grab a two button mouse.
  4. Laptop to buy for Game

You won't be able to max it all out, but you should be able to run high textures and decent lighting and geometry.
  5. Laptop to buy for Game

I'd reccommend an MSI in the same price and equipment range if you're going for newegg. They look and feel better IMO and this one is new, not a refurb, for close to the same price: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152369 If you can move a little higher in your budget, you could get something really nice like this: http://www.xoticpc.com/msi-gt70-0nd444us-p-4987.html
  6. Like topic says I have several buldings (most notable one of my streetcar depots) that will constantly unpower even though it has a connection and I have like a 60MW excess in my city. The buildings in question power up briefly, I see the power agents hit them and turn them yellow, but unlike the rest of my buildings they go back red rather quickly. Anyone else running into this and figured out what the deal is?
  7. I have two coal plants, and the streetcar depot furthest from them seems to be ok (like opposite corners)
