It's a good think that SimCity 4 still exists for all you who want to play that type of game.

buttonhead, if you get into the beta, there should be a keyboard shortcut as part of the online docs. You can print it out if you want.

Great post Buttonhead! I've been looking everywhere for anything to read or watch when it comes to this game.

I've been watching beta videos on youtube....just search for 'simcity' then filter for videos uploaded in the last week......I still haven't found any videos of an advanced user making a great city...if anybody finds a good one, please post it somewhere. I think I've watched maybe 5-6 hours so far and keep hitting myself when they make stupid mistakes or just ignore parks altogether and wonder why their city isn't building up I do enjoy them however. Hypnotoad is entertaining to watch too....just still looking for a really nice city.

One of the developers tweeted yesterday that there is no reason to keep the beta on your computer. This makes me think that they may have another beta weekend with a new, updated build. At least I hope so!! I wasn't going to remove this one just yet, but if you need space, it sounds like it's just useless now.

I'd love to watch a video of someone making a high population city in this beta. I ended up making 5 cities, and I was able to get 49k population by the fifth one from techniques mentioned in this thread. Thanks everyone!

I've now gotten up to about 26k, though I haven't played with the taxes much yet.

Hello all....first post here so bear with me since I'm the new guy I haven't played SimCity since SC2000 but I really enjoyed it back then. I've created 3 cities so far in the beta and have only been able to break 20k residents. I get my Gambling HQ right about when the 10 minute marker pops. How are you planning in order to get more residents? I have found that making many tightly packed streets doesn't allow for larger buildings, so what size squares should I be making? I'm thinking that less streets but spaced out better would be the best bet. I've littered my cities with parks too as someone in this thread mentioned to focus on Medium instead of High density. I've been looking for a good advanced tutorial on the beta showing 50k+ residents. Also, the challenge is to have 150k residents...I assume this is not currently possible in the 1 hour beta.
