The Mayors of Ellis Valley - Year of the Monkey stamps are here!
mapmaker89 replied to Benedict's topic in SC4 City Journals
Benedict - I have to say that I don't agree with your last comment. I'm not really a big fan of llama-spit burgers, but I'm truly enjoying this CJ. Then again, I don't think I've ever tried a llama spit burger...is it just the llama spit or are the burgers made out of llama too? And what does llama spit taste like? I may just have to try one of these burgers myself. Or not...who knows. Looking forward to the next update and the start of Season 3! -map -
Railways located in the median of the Expressway?
mapmaker89 replied to Need4Camaro's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
In Boston, the commuter rail line runs in the middle of and off to the side of Interstate 90 west of town. There really is no room anywhere else for it, so the advantage is that it saves a lot of space. It must also be pretty convenient, too (I don't use it). The trains usually don't get above 40 or 50 though. -

Benedict - I just sat here and read this CJ from start to finish in a few hours...it kept me addicted! The storylines were hilarious and I enjoy the censuses (especially the exports/imports) LMAO! It must be extremely challenging keeping this a vanilla CJ with all the cool BAT's and modds available. Great job showcasing the "old" SimCity style. Looking forward to season 3! -map P.S. I would like to request Crater Lake for the next census update. -
Poor Winchester Mall...it had a good run! Sort of... Love the underwater fire truck - fighting water with...water. My favorite part so far has been Adventure World. And all the road signs (road geek here!) Keep up the good work! -map

Great work so far! Those diagonal roads in the center of town must have been a challenge to make! Looking forward to some close-ups of downtown and the outlying areas! But I'm really impressed with the region view. -map

I love the speed in which it is expanding...not too fast, and not too slow. Great terrain mod, and especially love that turbine interchange. Great work so far - this is one of my favorite ones to follow! -map -
I'm sure many of you saw this today... What do you think happened here? Click here for the full story. -map

Hey everyone. I was searching today's news when I found amazing photos of the world's rarest whale giving birth. I thought it was neat, so I'm sharing it with the community. Apparently, this happened over two years ago and the pictures are finally being released. Here's the link. Just click on the photos link in the middle of the story to see nature in action! http://www.kcra.com/news/16238243/detail.html I think these are some great pics, and I think you'll all think so too! Peace, -map

Twin Cities Metro area - with downtown Minneapolis & St. Paul
mapmaker89 replied to djlee1999's topic in SC4 City Journals
Great job so far...I always love CJ's that recreate real-life cities They seem a lot harder than custom ones. Good luck with all the planning/construction. Looking forward to another update. -map -
Hey everybody! Just wanted to wish all of Simtropolis a happy Cinco De Mayo this year. Any plans? We're going out to have Mexican tonight...even though we are not Spanish at all. But it's cool. I like any and all holidays because they get to show us a different side of a culture that we usually don't get to see. Enjoy your 5th of May! -map EDIT: Poll added - what do you think of International holidays?

Hey everybody! Just wanted to let you know that there will be a score update TOMORROW for all. Also, most of the outstanding deeds that I am working on will be given to their owners. I may possibly have a few later this evening. Thanks! -map -
To be honest, I never did! I just knew it was a Mexican holiday that my family, for some reason or another, celebrated by enjoying Mexican food. I agree with you totally, TRNSTN. People should never be forced to celebrate another culture's holidays. Sometimes you do it out of respect when visiting another country, but that's about it. At least now we all know. Peace, -map

Actually, I take that back, it's perfectly symbolic of America as a nation- the day off symbolizes our laziness, the barbecue symbolizes our obesity, and the fireworks symbolize our tradition of bombing things.quote> OMG that is SOO funny! But true! Darn...I love to barbecue and light fireworks. I found a website that explains the whole reason behind Cinco De Mayo: http://www.vivacincodemayo.org/history.htm After reading this page, do you think that Americans should celebrate Cinco De Mayo too? I'd love to hear your thoughts. -map

Great job so far, masochist! I'd just like to know what the semicircle blue building in picture 7.11 and the stairway-type-looking building in picture 7.16 are. They look awesome and fit in very well. Great terraforming in the beginning, by the way. Looking forward to more! -map EDIT: Welcome to Page 6!!
