  9. My mother just died

Alkaola, Simtropolis isn't just a website, it is a community you belong to. You are right in posting this thread. May your mother have a fortunate rebirth.

  12. Strange, but not so strange?

Thanks for answering that, tungston. I was unaware of that bug. You can re-render - that's the only way to get the new config city layout - but if you're happy with the current one then you have only to reduce the resolution like tungsten suggested.
  13. Flamesrocks Maps

Let me first say how happy I am that the 'Mapp Squad' materialized. Making maps is great fun. I've probably spent more time browsing the net for DEMs than playing the game. Its pleasing to see everyone take an interest. As a member, I'll share some of my past experience/resources, and help the newer squad members learn the tricks of the trade. Two new maps to speak of (click link to see download page): Valley of the Snakes: Wanganui, New Zealand: Banks Peninsula, New Zealand: Map Tally: (est April 20th, 2005 3:10pm MT) 1.Valley of the Snakes 2.Wanganui, New Zealand 3.Banks Peninsula

  15. Strange, but not so strange?

You know what.. it's not working. Just DL from here https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?mode=files&filetype=Map&Str=atabu
  16. Strange, but not so strange?

Here's a config for atabu (attached.) You'll have to rename the extension to .bmp since ST doesn't allow .bmp file attachments.
  17. Wow.. seeing so many people leave (anicca) I for one, am hopelessly addicted. I hardly ever play, but visit Simtropolis all of the time.. lurking. Hiding in the shadows.. Simtropolis is entering its long slumber before Simcity 5. We certainly can't blame you for leaving, but check in now and then! Lurk without posting. Simtropolis is only partially about simcity. Its main functionn is in networking the like-minded simcity-heads, attracted to the game concept like moths to light. Anyways, thankyou Comdude for contributing so much. Your presence will be missed.
  18. Multiplayer "Simcity" Game Under Development (demo video)

Comp Sci major here. Sign me up!
  19. Simmans Unfortunate Farewell

While it saddens me to see you leave, I commend you for moving on to greener pastures. The world of programming is far more expansive and exciting than the that of Simcity. Learn Python, Linux and IRC. you won't regret the decision. And find the time to stop by now and then! As a second year comp sci major, I still visit everyday.
  20. Arkk

lovely map, I look forward to seeing more of your work.
  21. STEX CD Volume 1 - Now Available!

How do we find out what's on the CD?
  22. Collaboration of the Mapping Community

Wow, this is a 100% turn around. Very impressed by this, TNS. I'm pleased to see these changes If anyone is interested in reading the 'I Resign' thread - just to see how these changes came about - I have archived it: http://simcitysphere.com/ms_resign/view.asp.html I'm very optimistic about the future of the 'Mapp Squad'. ~flamesrock
  23. Simcity4 LAN 0.9..announced

I'm working on a similar program: http://simcitysphere.com/simnet slightly different approach, as it incorporates some elements of region census, but it is coming along nicely.
  24. Flamesrocks Maps

Thanks Casper, Thats easy to get rid of it you don't mind re-rendering it (and chopping off the white portion,) but since I had already done so much terraforming on the river I can't do that without spending more time than I have available.
