  1. Hows the weather where you live?

Sacramento currently 97 F and forecast 103 F, also a 'spare the air day' which means the ozone is unhealthy for sensitive groups
  2. Happy Birthday!

Hey, Thanks guys, I was sitting here slightly feeling sorry for myself because we had to cancel plans to celebrate my birthday and it's one of the biggies. I turn Sixty years old to day! Who'd a thunk it!
  3. Govia

Well, Ilikehotdogs (love the name) I tried IE and Firefox and didn't get any pictures from either one so.......
  4. Hows the weather where you live?

94 F, 22% humidity, I live in the California Central valley so it's always hot here in the summer, tomorrow 103 F
  5. SC4Terraformer Support

@Greyveil - tried that, it didn't work @Wouanagaine - didn't get a box, tried to save anyway only got a blank browser screen Thanks for trying guys, but I give, looks like the universe doesn't want me to have this tool right now.....
  6. SC4Terraformer Support

I've not had a problem with d/ling anything else from the mod section. Click on the d/l get the box that asks what do you want to do, click on save, etc. Only the Terraform tool. Buy I'll try again... Edit: Well, that's interesting, just tried to d/l load a couple of other things from the mod section and the same thing, click on the d/l, little green stripe appearers in browser frame, then says 'done' but nothing d/led . D/led something from the STEX and that worked right, the box ask what...etc. and I clicked on save etc. I am soooo confused....
  7. SC4Terraformer Support

Hi, I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can't seem to down load this tool. I've 'repaired' all the .dlls d/l and installed direct x (a few days ago), yet when I go to d/l load the tool I don't get the dialogue box, just nothing then it says 'done' in the corner of my browser (IE) but no sign of the tool on my desktop or anywhere else that I'm aware of, I'm not very computer smart so what did I do wrong? Any help would be appreciated as I would really like to use this tool. Thanks...
  8. Hi Handsoff, yup - you're talking rubbish because most (like 99%) creators of stuff on the STEX say something like 'you can use this, but tell people to come here to get it' and if people ignore that it's plagiarism... Deadwoods probably consolidated the dependancies into mega packs, check the STEX ...
  9. Dependencies

Cunami, I don't think that dependencies are what caused your problem. Try Cityhawk's suggestion. Oh, and welcome to ST!
  10. Game Kicks me back to the desktop

Mine does that too Hgpthe3rd, we're suppose to clean up our plugins folder and that's suppose to help. I don't know about you but 1) that is going to be a lot of work and 2) it sounds really boring, so....
  11. Let me introduce myself.

Welcome to ST YannickMT, I'm sure you'll enjoy the site as much as the rest of us! Both Sim123 and Rhino120 gave you some great advice and links - the only thing I would add is to reiterate what Rhino 123 said "...as you download, use some type of organization to the content or you'll never be able to find stuff later on." A lot of stuff comes with installers if you are on a PC, so that helps with the organization. The other thing is install one or two things at a time so you can verify no conflict/problems. Most of the custom content is tested but you never know... The other thing is pay close attention to the 'readme' it will tell you if you need anything to make the download work (called dependencies). After you get more comfortable with the game again I would suggest you d/l the BSC farm packs and the mod that suppresses the Maxis farms, I think you'll like the diversity of these and they contribute to new rewards.
  12. BSC SNM Project

Like I said, that is what's so fun about this, you can make your base any way you want! I just hope there are no 'Oopsies'
  13. BSC SNM Project

I was lucky enough to be a tester over at Peg's site and I have to tell you people, these are really fun! You can configure your base any way you like and the customs sounds are a hoot! (Greyveil, are you sure you want the ammo dumps so close to your runways? )
  14. need a bit of help

Hi Clark, welcome to ST! I use the 'Cousin Vinne' ordinance mod. There are others, you'll have to read the info to figure out what works for you. By the way, some of the custom content comes with installers (unless you're a Mac user), which you should use. You should also take care to keep you're plugins folder tidy. One way is to name a folder for the designer then a folder for the item (i.e. plugins/BSC/park). As Sim1234 says, check the read me for the dependencies, they seem like a lot of work but will inhance you're game play! Enjoy!
  15. Newbie with some questions!

Hi, NYGuy11, first, welcome to ST! 2nd, do you have Rush Hour (or Deluxe)? Most of the stuff here is for the Rush Hour/Deluxe version. If so I would d/l the NAM (Network Addon Mod) it's a little buggy but worth it. 3rd, it's difficult to say what else but whatever you do follow the instructions in the 'readme' and most important keep your 'plugins' folder tidy. A lot of the things have installers (for windows machines) and most install to .../plugins/(name of lotter-BATer/name of item). If you do that you can find something that causes problems quicker. When looking at the STEX it can be overwhelming but consider what kind of cities you want then down load the things that fit that kind of city. Good Luck Have fun - If you get into trouble there are a ton of people that are willing to help.
  16. Summer break is here!!

You tell 'em, SkiGeek, I'm going to be 60 this year and still do most of what I did before (except for the drinking/partying all night/being stupid stuff)! Oh, and I'm going to read and relax for summer (can't go anywhere because Fred, my only doggie left, has nasal cancer so we stay close to his Vet).
  17. How Tall Are You?

Well, I was 5' 2 3/4" but haven't checked in a while and since I'll be 60 this year (that still freaks me out!) I'm probably shorter.
  18. Ummm, let see, longest flight: San Francisco, CA, USA to London, England. Longest drive: Dayton, Oh to Portland, Or (USA), Longest bus ride: My tour trip in Europe, started in Holland, drove to/through Switzerland, Germany, Austria (not necessarily in that order), ended in France. Longest train ride: Sacramento CA to Modesto, CA. Longest sea trip: from San Francisco through the Islands to Alaska. Longest hike, 21 miles (all uphill - well, it seemed that way at the time!) in the Desolation area of CA, in three days (I was much younger then!). Don't recall longest bicycle ride, somewhere around home I guess.
  19. The Cobb 5th Avenue

    Ditto to all the above!

You don't get a summer break! quote> HA HA back at you SC4Noobie, I'm retired, you still have to finish school and then work for a lot of years without a 'summer' break ...all year long is summer break for me!
  21. My first B.A.T - Palazzo Anese

Hey Brenz, I think you are well on your way to being a BATer, your English is very good and I'm looking forward to seeing your creations on the STEX, by the way welcome to ST!
  22. TM Housing

    Barby, the STEX Goddess!
  23. What do you have for breakfast?

Hot tea with soy milk, cigarette and SimTropolis!
  24. Class Reunions

Mayormommy, I'm really glad you went to your reunion, and that you had a reasonably good time. When you think about it, we spend a lot of time with classmates (which can be good or very bad), so they have a hugh impact on us. Good luck on the next one!
  25. Nice canals with bridges

I have all three and use both SimGoobers and Peg's a lot, especially now that Peg has added the locks for his wide canals. Each has a lot to recommend it (Goobers end pieces, Pegs fountains), but I don't have the great bridges for Oppies as yet.
