Shadow Assassin's Ensenada. Discover the mystery.
Fred_Ginger replied to Shadow Assassin's topic in SC4 City Journals
I too was delighted with the use of Peg's pond and stream plus your use of the park trails. Very effective and made for a very pretty golf course. I also liked the pictures of the row houses, the industrial area was so nice and the night shot just beautiful. And the story, with it's twists and turns! Only one complaint (and minor at that), please, please, use a slightly larger font, my poor old eyes! -
Never could resist a good party ( or a 'not half bad party' either)! (*watches the younger people dance while tapping her foot*)

Oh, goody! Seattle, one of my favorite cities and a Sci-Fi story together! Great 'effects' too!

I too like what you did with the school, using those trails and linking the open spaces to the school proper. Good thing about that 'plot device'! -
(*looks and looks for the smiley that groans*) 1973tr6 you are really bad! John I didn't get your joke, but please, don't explain it to me!

The New Moose Factory - Virtual Bar & Grill
Fred_Ginger replied to A Nonny Moose's topic in General Off-Topic
Hey Hym, good to see you! Bah, who pays attention to reality when reading Fantasy/Science Fiction? This book is the third in Nora Roberts "The Circle" trilogy. Some say that Nora Roberts is a 'womans' writer and she has written her share of 'women's' books but she is so inventive, her stories are tight and humorous, and she never fails to entertain me. She has a whole series of books set in the future; the "In Death" series, that are funny, sexy, scary, creepy, and inventive. I don't recall how many of them are out, John, do you know how many she has in that series now? (I'm too lazy to start plowing through all the books on the floor and table to count them up!) (*snuggles back into her chair in the corner by the fireplace and thinks herself a nice hot cup of tea with lemon*) Well, I'm going to read some more while I suffer through this cold I picked up... -
The New Moose Factory - Virtual Bar & Grill

Hello everyone, John, your new place is, um, well, new! Oops, had to go to the door and appease some little goblins! (*thinks a white wine*) Don't mind me, I'm just going to snuggle in the corner by the fireplace with my wine and a book about Vampires taking over the world. Oh, Happy Halloween everyone, oops back to the goblins! -
Lonedog (love your avatar!) welcome to ST. I believe that most of SG's lots are growables so they wont be in any lists and you have to have the right conditions for them to grow. If you want them to grow, they usually grow in newly zoned areas that don't have parks or services. (And if you want to keep them you should mark them as historical)Also, if I remember correctly you can find some of his sleaze lots in the 'Landmarks' section towards the end.

I'm sure I've commented here before (if not, I'm sorry because I've meant to), you seem to have set up an ambitious plan, good luck with it! And, thank you for the beautiful photographs of Alaska in the snow, I love looking a pictures of snow. One of the reasons I make time to visit TRR is you humor, thank you for that too!

Well, the Bay area has been redeemed (What? Sacramento is close enough I can consider it 'mine'!) as the Raiders have beat the Stealers! (*blows raspberry at MrC.*) Awwww, too bad the Bengals lost.......

I just noticed this CJ, and must tell you how happy I am that I found it. I do love a good story (even a mediocre story - thankfully not the case here!). Still waiting to hear why the Turnips? -
Hi all, I too am an aficionado of Science Fiction/Fantasy, although I haven't read much of it lately. I'll read/watch just about any SF/F I can find (I don't do horror!), and have enjoyed many of the books authors mentioned here (1973tr6, I love the Pern stories and tried to imagine doing the planet in SC but as I don't BAT, couldn't). I'm still enjoying Dr Who, this new Dr doesn't bother me and I've seen so many of them (My local Public Broadcast Station showed the old ones for years and I almost cried when they stopped making them!). I still have all the original (but one) Star Trek on Beta-max, but never much got 'in' to the subsequent series. I have recently started reading Mercedes Lackey (a fantasy writer) so maybe I'll add some more SF/F to my library (although I have no idea where I'll put them!). I've enjoyed reading this thread and am comforted that there are other SF/F readers out there! I found the comparison of ships really funny, sorry!

Slafar, the NAM does require 'Rush Hour' (or deluxe) so your really should consider getting it. There is so much custom content here that was developed for the 'Rush Hour/Deluxe' edition that it will be well worth the effort and expense to go that route. Welcome to ST!

Question...Going to download all dependency packages
Fred_Ginger replied to radiodude's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Both my friends Blackbeard and Vab are correct (of course!) but Vab may have misled you just a bit. A lot of the older packs from the BSC indicate that they have been replaced by a Mega pack so there is no reason to d/l and install them. That should save you a lot of work. Have fun! -
The 'Cousin Vinnie' ord will give you $200,000. a month, plenty of money to do most anything. It's in the mods I think I was wrong (first time for everything ) it is on the STEX https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=13382

@ N_O_Body: You know John, of all my years of going to live theater (my late Husband and I subscribed to the 'Best of Broadway' series in San Francisco) I never saw South Pacific live, strange that. Of course at the time (he died in '94) there were so many 'new' shows (Les Miz, Cats, Phantom, Chorus Line, etc.) that I guess they really didn't have 'room' for revivals although the did revive 'The King and I' with Yul Brenner a few years before he died. @Callagrafx: My bad Lee, 'White Christmas and 'Holiday Inn' also go on my all time lists! Oh, and all of Fred Astairs movies (Fred and Ginger - get it? )

Which mods/plugins should I install?
Fred_Ginger replied to yves's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Mystrelia was thinking of the BSC farm set I think... just search for BSC or farms on the STEX. It would really help to know what kind of play style you like. Some of the people here have taken SC to whole new levels. Examples, the mountain theme pack that Peg did (search for Peg) and Mika/Barby's Venetian theme which is currently in Beta testing....
