  1. LOL. More like they realized they would have to follow through with something or go into hiding and decided to back out.
  2. Flickering Buildings

You didn't say, did you change your refresh rate? Under your resolution you will have your resolution in 59hz and 60hz, change to the other, same resolution.
  3. Logged hours

My counter says 140 hours but I know that thing is not right at all, it wasn't right in the Beta either. It seems the game loses track of time like it loses game saves.
  4. Yeah, I agree there's just no excuse for no local copy option. Auto save to PC and give us an option to restore from a local copy in the load city screen.
  5. Yes! It's Possible!

Thanks for the comments, did not expect that but it made my day. I am a semi-pro photographer so that probably helps a bit (rule of thirds and all) though no control over DOF and such. Anyhow, thanks! I think I am going to make a lot of towns. Maybe we can get a "show us your town" thread going.
  6. It's typical, it happens all the time. Consider it gone. It's there somewhere on the server... but when you will get it restored could be an hour, could be a year, maybe never. There's a huge thread on this issue on the EA support forum. I've lost 3 and its been like a week or longer now. I don't expect to see it come back anytime soon.
  7. Yes! It's Possible!

Thanks. I have to say I am actually enjoying playing this game more as a Town Builder. It also starts to make more sense and I am really starting to think they started the game off this way as well and at some point said "lets give it sky scrapers and call it SimCity, that will help sales" I still see giant potential in the game if they can get their act together. Map sizes need to increase 4x at MINIMUM. Under / Over passes, bridges need added. Modding needs opened to the community. I don't care if EA / Maxis has a micro store and sells models / add-ons I will gladly buy good stuff, but the community should be able to fully mod everything as well. All the little glitches need fixed, somebody needs to redesign nearly every single park because they look AWFUL. It seriously feels released way way too early in a lot of respects. Here are some more photos of my town. I'll probably build mostly only towns from now on since it's the only way to make anything realistic looking.
  8. The link I posted has a Gt 650m in it as well.
  9. Save a few more bucks and get something with a decent graphics card like this one, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007Z92SJU/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B007Z92SJU&linkCode=as2&tag=cost-reduced-20
  10. Gridlock caused by.... nothing?

If you have a bus stop there try moving it. It also looks like you have a ton of construction trucks. If you zone too much you end up with tons of moving and construction trucks flooding your roads.
  11. Typical, prepare to have your city lost forever.
  12. Just curious, if you experienced a roll back / missing a city did you have your borders showing or hidden? http://answers.ea.com/t5/Miscellaneous-Issues/Info-Request-Missing-City/m-p/722948#U722948 800+ Reported so far. I bet that's a tiny sample of how many are actually gone.
  13. Did you lose a city?

This is not the solution to the problem, or the problem itself. Not sure what your talking about. Is there an option to hide the borders? Yes there is an option to hide the white dotted line. I was asking because I seemed to have notice losing cities a lot after removing it. Today I had them off and I could have swore I was somehow building a road outside of the border, it did a processing error and a rollback. When I came back in I couldn't build the road where I was before. Could have just been that the roll back took me back before I destroyed something was in the way... not sure.
  14. I mean really? How does this stuff go out the door?
  15. It was only a matter of time!

I'm not so sure hitler should be representing us and EA the allies... lol Or either way around really
  16. If there were only a few houses and no Town Hall it sounds like it's a pretty disposable city. Can't you just abandon it?
  17. I personally don't mind the Always Online, at all. What I mind is their failure to provide a GOOD SERVICE. They have proven they can not do it. Nearly everyone who plays at some point loses their entire city! What is the point in playing if you're going to lose all your work. Maybe it's better the maps are 2kx2k so we don't lose more than 20-30 hours of work. Imagine having an 8kx8k city going down the dumps. They are providing an online service with No ticket support system No recognition of lost game saves No time table on recovering game saves No reasonable explanation as to why there are no local backups Piss poor server management. Taking down servers for 7 hours to update hardware. In the hosting world you would lose your clients fast enough to spin your head around. But given we can't refunds I guess that's okay. No written guarantee of services I don't know what she expected with this post, as if everyone is going to say "OH! I see now! Well then, everything is perfect in SC world! Excellent work!"
  18. During the Beta there were obvious issues like this. Remember the road intersections that put the grass walkways right across the road? I thought to myself HOW on earth could they have not noticed that themselves? It makes you wonder how much they even played the game with such obvious issues. Then you have the parks. They don't look great to begin with and they don't even fill in the gap between the roads. Somebody doesn't know how a crankshaft works! Dirt roads don't intersect right, always left with a partial road for a 4 way. And speaking of roads, how about an option for regular BLACK TOP roads?! I either have to from dirt: To this... I just want a black top road without telephone poles every 20ft or lamp posts littering it up.
  19. WOW... Really?

"A lot of people" is still a small amount of people in the big picture. Trust me, this is slow time right now.
  20. SimCity Update 8

I could care less about it needing to be online. I have plenty of games on Steam too. What annoys me are no local game saves and they have already proven they can NOT manage game saves properly! Not only are cities being lost on a massive scale but they aren't publicly addressing the issue, fixing the cities or giving a time table on it. These guys obviously have no business in managing game saves.
  21. WOW... Really?

One in the afternoon on a weekday is probably one of the least busy times out of the week.
  22. It's bad enough the transition looks freaking retarded, but look at the right hand lanes on the streets going into the grass of the avenue! WTF!
  23. That's not a glitch either, it's not a one time occurrence... that's how those roads are joined... You're right, laziness.
  24. SimCity Update 8

They aren't going to move to an industrial zone... school coverage is the same, bus stops are the same. It doesn't have an effect on that.
  25. SimCity Update 8

Now you're starting to get this game!
