Well first off...I cant see the houses very well. Why Plant trees when you cant see the city?? After all..This is a City Building Game. Secondly, You say destroy at the bottom. Destroy what? If you mean the city, well thats not possible for us. If you mean the Picture, then here you go: I give it a -60/10 Because i had to put in extra effort for the picture

Okay okay...calm down. As Simcity 5 is concerned, I for one, am not too worried or anticipating a new one coming out. After all, EA is a company. And companies exist to make a profit. If you had a buisness, wouldn't you do whatever it takes (legally) to become big and keep making money. Its not that they don't listen to us, Because if that was the case, They'd have stopped selling SC4 years ago. Its that they See what products that they have and what makes the most money, and they sell what makes the biggest profit. Not saying a SC5 would make money, its just how much? A small profit margin like 1% or so wont cut it. So they stick to what pays the bills and more. The Sims, NFS, Madden, Etc. will continue to be the main sellers for awhile because of this. Also...through this at your noggin. What if...EA doesn't want to make a new SC game....BECAUSE of the extreme Fanbase around SC4. What if they don't want to risk a failure like SCS again, because the fanbase may be comparing the new games to SC4 too much. Because as you know...Simtropolis and SC4Devotion are the 2 biggest SC fansites, and if even one of those sites condemn a game, its game over. Now think about this...What if...this is the same reason other companies don't want to venture into this territory. They dont want their games shot down and money wasted Because we are too caught up in one game (albeit.....it is my favorite game.....) I fully believe that this is the reason Monte Cristo went out of buisness. They were banking on a life or death with CXL. And once they pushed it out there....People began criticizing it. This isnt like SC4...SC4 has these but not CXL...Why isnt CXL more like SC4. Ill tell you why. Because the only thing similar between the two games is that they are city building games. It'd be like saying Call of duty and Halo are the same game but with a few minor differences. No. They are two different games with the same Genre. Same as CXL and SC4. The fanbase is whats killing this genre, not the companies. Because the people are too stubborn to back away from SC4 or 30 minutes and try a new game. After all. Thats what we all really want now is it? A New game that is BETTER than SC4. Oh. And a few tidbits that kinda irk me while im winding down from rant mode..Maxis = Nonexistant. Monte Cristo = Nonexistant. They are now EA for SC4 and Focus Home Interactive for CXL. Please call them such. [/rant] -Zach P.S. - And for those who might think it, I love SC4. It does hold a special place in my heart. From countless hours spent working on cities that i seem to not finish....to Real life occurences that i quote the game to, It is and always will be my favorite game. But I also believe that we, as a community, need to do more than argue on whats a better game, or a better program or whatever. We need to (for a lack of better teminology) band together and work together on our true love. Our love for the game. Our love for the Genre. Our love for...well..Building the best gosh darn cities possible!

Linkie Looks like the folks At Dodge are getting crafty against PETA. Good for them PETA's gotten too power hungry in my opinion. They should just go back to actually helping animals that are actually being mistreated. [/rant]

Lets see....Right now im barefoot, but i do own...*counts* 5 pairs of flippity flops, 2 pairs of nonslip work shoes, 2 pairs of tennies, 3 pairs of dress shoes, a pair of industrial work boots (my family owns a weld shop and does heavy metal work for everyone from Caterpillar to NASA), and a pair of golashes (don't ask....). And can you guess where i bought them? -Flip flops-- Walmart....all 5 -work shoes-- Walmart -Tennies-- ....Walmart......Im not going to go on I feel that those 70 dollar pair of nikes or 40 dollar pair of flip flops from hollister are unnecessary. And even if those walmart tennies aren't comfy enough, you could always buy a pair of Dr. Scholls. $70 Nike vs $20 Walmart brand and $15 gel inserts... Plus i cant get enough of my flip flops Ive had 10 pairs in the past 3 years and ive worn them all out. But it doesnt matter cuz they only cost $1 at walmart anyway And i expect to buy 2 more pairs before the end of the summer and prolly 2 more next spring

What do you think about Apple and their products?
Z77 replied to Gamma4815's topic in Current Events
Originally posted by: GlobexCo To put music inside you need iTunes (and iTunes subscription!!)... quote> Actually...i have an ipod, and have never purchased a song. All you need to do is download itunes, which is free and create an account(which is free). Then you download a torrent like limewire, frostwire, etc and specify that you want your downloaded music sent to your ipod library folder. (which is......*drum roll* free) a stupid and heavy software made of course by Apple, it uses 25Mb at startup each time (I know this because one of my friends had a pc with veeeery slow startup and low performances. In idle, the heaviest task was iTunes) ... a very good work!quote> Hmmm.....ive never had a problem with that. Firstly, he should set itunes to only start up when connecting to his Ipod. That way startup times go quicker, and if he wants to access itunes without hooking up his ipod, then just start the program. Also...Ive never had itunes use 25mb of ram, so he might have another problem with either his computer or something else. Same thing for Apple store, why I can't download apps anywhere? Why there should be Apple's censorship between the developer and me? quote> I feel the same way on this one. But the reasoning is because it is a buisness. And you dont have a buisness to make freinds, you have one to turn a profit and make money. If they made it so you could get apps anywhere, then insurance comes up. what if your ipad gets a virus? Send it to apple to get it fixed free because you are under their warranty and insurance plan. Also, apps are moneymakers. if you get your apps from somewhere else, then you dont get a profit. Again, Bottom line is that its a buisness. -
Oh RCT. Yes, one of my favorite games. But my biggest pet-peeve in RCT3 is that you cant build your coasters through tunnels. You can artificially create them, But i miss that because it gave you more to work with

Your Regions and their Population
Z77 replied to Jimmyneutron's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Hmmm....Well i've had many regions, But i've just recently decided to leave the Metropolis-Filled regions behind for a more wooded Natural region. Keep in mind that it has one big city though. But on a region map that covers about 35 large tiles with 17 finished so far, the population is only 90,000. Im trying to create a scenic region that would be good in a CJ...if i was going to make one in the future....*hinthint* -
Linkie So apparently gravity is, in some people's eyes, complete nonsence...... They did have some good points. But ill stick to the idea that a force is holding me down, not some weird matter or energy.

Wait......That means.....The site rules need updated! Well not updated....But clarified. 5. Prohibited Actions. It is strictly and expressly prohibited to post or upload: Anything relating to the pirating, or copying, of any software game title; Anything referring to CD keys or no CD cracks; Any content malicious to computer hardware or software, such as viruses; Any content that violates another person's privacy; Any material that is the work of another individual but is being represented as original. Permission must be obtained from the original creator, and due credit must be given, before including any element of that creator's work in custom content upload. In the past....The word download was a big No-no. Now i guess just to doubly make sure you are clarifying if it is a Steam Download.

Hello there everyone I have a problem.. Soo...i downloaded a dirt road mod a while back. Now im trying to get rid of it. Only problem is that i dont remember the name of the mod and after going through every plugin in my plugin folder i cant find it. So i have come to believe that it is hidden under a weird name. Does anyone happen to know the name of said mod? if so it would be very helpful This is the only pic i currently have of the road mod. It turns streets into dirt roads with dirt road sides, but gets rid of sidewalks on any other network. i.e. Roads, avenues, ect.

As you are standing on top of your hill, you notice that the water is rising. All of this nuclear radiation going on is causing extreme global warming and the water engulfs you drowning you. I wait until Nuclear winter ascends then i proceed to claim the hill completely bundled up in clothing that will protect me from the cold. My Hill!

Thanks That helped me out a bunch. I was, in fact, using both and after looking for a bit, i found them...of course, hidden in an obscure folder i must have put in temporarily, but forgot about.

Ah Sound systems.... Lets see.... My grandparents have an old Radio from the 1930's. Im pretty sure its a GE but its quite interesting. It has 3 frequencies. AM, Police, and i think FM. But FM wasnt widely used back then. My grandmother said that it cost a good 100 bucks back then, Which is alot, But its a huge floor radio. Obviously the Police scanner part doesnt pick anything up anymore since its all digital, and the FM part only works for the higher frequencies..? But the AM part sounds the best ive ever heard AM sound in. And yes...Besides replacing a couple tubes throughout the years, Its still original, in excellent shape, and never been redone. She also has...oh...id say over 2000 records in storage, including everything from Elvis, to The Who, to How to teach yourself Russian in only a week....with a total of 8 records to help you learn...(this was the 60's, 70's. You know how the world ended up with the USSR taking over the world and having us all learn Russian.....) Then my girlfreind's parents have a old radio from the late 1970's thats a pioneer stereo system, complete with an cassette player, Turntable, AM/FM radio, and ....8-Track player. And yes..they have 8-tracks. They are the jankiest things i have ever layed my eyes and hands on and are confusing as all get out to use, but they are pretty darn cool to listen to. Then you have my old high school band room storage closet. Everything from huge Reel-to-Reel players that still worked btw, to records, to the enormous amount of recording equipment that records sound just as good as my current phone records sound. That was my favorite place to be Me? Well i just have a simple stereo that i dont use for much of anything... Originally posted by: Duke87 Originally posted by: Easy Bakes So what do kids listen to at partys? when every one has thier own Ipod like device.quote> Very often one person's iPod will go into a "Pod Dock" and have music blasted off of it. Otherwise a stereo system hooked up to a digital music library on someone's computer may be used. Of course, having a "silent rave" is always an option. But then people can't talk to each other. quote> I dont think there are too many silent raves however...Besides. There arent really too many "parties" like there were in the 70's and such. Because Parents know what they did and so kids have to go drink and party elsewhere. And usually if there is a party there isnt really loud music like back when. Its simply plug your ipod up to a dock like Duke said. Which those aren't very loud...unless you have the proper equipment for doing so...But most kids dont....*coughcough*

Originally posted by: joshriddle In the way of shopping, here in Fort Worth, Texas, a brand new chain of retailers opened up called Aldi, and we stopped in there one day when we were out by Ridgmar Mall, it was something like Safeway, Piggly Wiggly, or any other small retailer. They also did things a bit differently. First of all, the shopping carts were latched together, and if you stuck a quarter in one of them, it would unlatch. And when you were done shopping, you went up to checkout, and they would have 2 people there working. You would pay 6 cents for a paper bag, and you got to keep those paper bags. You would also bag your own groceries. Now I would bet you are wondering why they do all this? well, 1: So they won't have to pay someone to go out and get shopping carts, and keep cars from getting damaged by the carts, and keep the parking lot uncluttered. 2: Paying for your own bags and keeping them makes it where the store won't have to buy so many plastic bags, saving the customer money 3: Bagging your own groceries, that makes it so they won't have to pay extra to have someone bag it for you, saving even more money. So really it is a good store, lots cheaper then WalMart. And they only have the essential foods, nothing like WalMart and you see it and go ooooooohhhhh, I want that! Just what you need. Unlike the 2 hours and $200 spent at WalMart, we only spent $63 and we were out of there in a matter of 30 minutes, so we may start making a effort to go shopping there, just like with Safeway up in the rural, forest mountain town of Evergreen, Colorado, where I first lived when I was a tikus. It is a lot better than that monster of a store WalMart. quote> We have that up here in illinois. Aldi is actually a German Based company that is actually two companies (Search Aldi Sud and Aldi Norte) Its quite a nice store. I like the fact that you can buy things dirt cheap and they are pretty darn good 25 cents for a box of Mac-n-Cheeze instead of 1.50 for the Kraft Brand, or 20 cents for a can of soup We have 1 in our town and i think 3 in Peoria. Though they sometimes sell things such as televisions and such...and id go somewhere else to buy those But its been up here for years now. I think..since the late 70's/early 80's? But they are actually a giant international company. You just havent heard of them because they keep their costs down by advertizing word-of-mouth As for my Summer...Its been interesting. Been working two jobs, Just got diagnosed with ADD two days ago, which isnt great, since i cant swallow pills..Its been raining like crazy all the time, that the Illinois is flooded and so are all the creeks and smaller rivers. But im fine with that. I love precipitation of any kind. Rain, Snow, Hail, Sleet...Love them all (mainly snow and rain though)

Which towns/cities do/did you use for inspiration?
Z77 replied to methodist's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
I really dont use any for inspiration. Rather, I use other people's cities for my inspiration. Seeing that i live in a town of 34,000 surrounded by cornfirelds and the largest town for 150 miles is a town of 100,000. Ive had such a dismal time creating huge metropolises. Which is why im currently working on a small town filled region with a moderate sized town as the largest. I think that small towns give you a better chance of creating a sort of history of the region, whereas huge metropolises are just plopped and dont have much life to them. -
