Wow...the airport looks great. I really like what you have done with the place. By the way, what terminals do you use and what elevated train station did you use? Great updates gurrgkud. I've been really busy helping Jeroni with his latest project and haven't even had time to update my own CJ let alone comment on others... I like the government area...definitely a great use of some of Maxis' landmarks and some download off the STEX. Hahahaha...yet another thread to follow & fill up my email box so that the wife yells at me for having too much email! Now that you have a thread for your lots, I'll definitely be popping in and out with suggestions. I'm trying my hand at GMAX now, and I don't think it is going so bad...so, your offer from your CJ to ask me for help would probably be accepted. Who knows, maybe my BAT thread might have to reference your lot thread...if an when my talents are combined with yours! Take a look over there...you may find the bathroom I'm working on usefull for updating this lot if you wish. Can't wait to see more...especially the combined tractor trailer/car rest stop... keep em coming...

Jacqulina, I really love what you did with the waterfalls. How did you get the in-water transition to work, did you just use the center lots and dump them in to the water? I really love your castle too. It looks so historic, definite tourist trap. It looks great. Can't wait to see your CJ once you get it posted. I'm sure it will be fantastic! -------------------- Fox, Where did you get the curved sections for Opie's canal set...I want those!! -------------------- CDB, I really like that inlet area...especially how you framed the 2 marinas with the Fishing Ports. Looks great.

The new one looks pretty cool txp...by the way...what is the height in meters that you have for that wall? I am assuming that is a 2 story building...

So, so sad that this CJ is coming to an end...especially when you are working on ploppable water. That would be so awesome. Anyway, I love the pics. You are right, the industrial area looks good. And I too like the control tower idea for the traffic. Can't wait to see that new area... I know though that once we see the new area, you'll be done soon thereafter with this CJ... so, it is with much pain that I say keep em coming...

I'm in the process of helping Jeronij to add some small buildings to his Modular Zoo set. I am looking through the web sites listed here for a texture, but I'm asking for help also. I need a texture similar to the Maxis Zoo thatched roof texture. Anyone have anything appropriate? Many thanks in advance... Jason

ARGH! I am about ready to scream! This is the first time I've used the BAT, and I'm about ready to quit and make it my last! I have my model built and ready for texturing. Every time I create a texture, the Apply button is not lit and I can't get my textures on to the model. Yes, I have a UVW Map created for the pieces I'm trying to texture. I don't understand what is going on and I'm ready to throw in the towel! Some serious help is needed quickly. Thanks...

Jeronij, Wow...your CJ is so awesome, I'm at a total loss for words. I'll just leave it at this. The airport is awesome (wish I could get ahold of those diagonal and curved pieces) and the urban area in CT is just fantastic. Well, well, well...quite the update... First of all, I must start by saying thank you for the embassy. Second, I feel especially honored that my next door embassy neighbor is Jeronij (SCR)! Wow...I'm touched! (Imagine the frown as a smile...tears of joy! ) The entire area looks great. And that opera house...wow...what a setup! That thing looks awesome! And finally, your computer...sorry you have to replace it, but we will reap the benefits...I mean you will reap the benefits soon enough! D, Another fine update. Many people may not like tech shots...but I sure do... *Phew* Man is it hard to type today...I just got done mowing 3/4 of our grass in the sweltering heat and now my hands/fingers are numb! As for the fire station...most of the time the most direct route of travel is taken. Sometimes, that means going on the interstate, and sometimes it means staying off the interstate. Sometimes it means taking avenues, sometimes it means taking roads. Usually, one-ways and streets are avoided...usually. Now, if there is a station that is near a lot of one-ways or streets they have no choice, but once they can make it to a road or avenue or highway they stick to it. Believe it or not, it isn't really necessary to have any kind of quick access to the interstate...usually whichever station covers that section of the interstate simply uses the nearest on-ramp and no special access roads are built just for them. Hope that helps. Love the waterfalls and whatever that park-type area is gonna become. Great job...keep em coming...

D, Another fine update. I like how you redid the medium wealth/medium density area...it looks much better. The parcel of land acquired in this update from another town...good idea! Can't wait to see what develops there. Now, for the constructive criticism that I know you rely on so much! And, let me say that once again I'm hitting on this only because of my profession. The fire station...while it is a good idea in theory to have great access to the highway, most fire departments are actually situation more near the population. It is a proven fact in our profession that you will have more calls in the more densely populated area. I know, you are thinking But there is so much traffic on the interstate, wouldn't you have more calls on the interstate than downtown? The answer is actually no. On the interstate you are actually limited to the types of calls you would be running...and they are all tied to transportation in one way or another (with the exception of the occassional grass fire along the median strip or exit ramp from a discarded cigarette, but even though can be transportation related. ) Downtown, you have all the transportation related stuff, plus call to assist the general public, building fires, fire alarms, miscellaneous calls, etc. The only time you see fire stations situation right along the highway like that is when it is a controlled access highway and the only area that fire department serves is the highway itself. Now, there are always exceptions to this, but this is typical of big (and little) city life. Now, if you were to put a small fire station near the interstate, kind of as a sub-station of a larger downtown station...well now, that would be more characteristic of everyday conditions. Sorry, I'll get off my soap box now. If you have any questions, or don't wish me to put this much info in to a general reply, just give me a PM and I can explain it a little better if I'm not clear...or you can just yell at me in a PM as well! Great job though...I'm liking it as always! Keep em coming...

gurrgkud, DUDE! I didn't know you had started a new CJ to replace Nuked York! (R.I.P. ) I new that NY was gone forever, but I missed you putting out this new CJ! My appologies, as the start you have going here is wicked cool! And all in the style of NY too! Lets see...where to begin with the comments...I first want to jump ahead a little and ask, where in the HECK did you get that beach texture?! I LOVE IT! It looks amazing, much better than what I have, and I need what you have!!!!! Ok...with that said... ...lets start with, well, the start of your CJ. Great idea, great feel to the CJ. I like the opening shots with the Spanairds and their ship and all...nice touch. The first island, good job (although it feels a little crowded looking at it...not sure if you intended that or not. ) The second island you are working on looks incredible. I love the ocean-side resort area...the whole Ocean Boulevard type thing going on looks incredible with all the park land, the hotels and condos...it looks fantastic. (hope you don't mind if I copy it somewhat! ) The beach area...well, see above! ...it looks great. The downtown area...good job. The housing development with the stream and all running through it...great job. I am so very impressed (even if I am 3 pages late getting in to it! )...it all looks great. Like MrCinatit said, you have outdone yourself this time. Way to go man...and good luck with your computer. By the way, PM me about that S.M.A.R.T. system...I have a Dell and didn't know I had it (and I've got the top of the line Dell, so I know I have to have it. ) Great going... keep em coming...

The idea for the riddles on the notepad papers was actually a last minute thought...I was actually scribbling down something on a piece of scap paper that my wife was telling me to do (while I was typing the update of course) and the idea just sort of hit me. I didn't have any actual notepad paper of the pocket size, so I had to totally freehand those graphics. I had to merge many images, scan my own writing, etc...took almost 2 hours to complete the way I liked them, but I think it was well worth it. Who knows...maybe those images will somehow make it in to the novel too. Thanks again for your comments. dhoppeii - Glad to see that you made it back from vacation in one piece. I'm glad to see that you picked up on the East Coast resort reference...that line was actually inspired by you passing through my town on the way to Virginia Beach for vacation! As a matter of fact, one of the guys that I work with...his mom is a professional proofreader/editor for several authors and major magazines/publications. She works from home and only lives a few miles from me. I was hoping to get a favor and have her help me before publication. I've grown up with this guy since 5th or 6th grade, so I'm hoping she'll help out. Before you wrote this comment though, I was thinking of what she is going to be like during this part of the book and I believe I have already figured out how to address it during this section. I have the story in my head, but I have an idea for several pictures that I want to include. To get those pictures will require game play, and due to RLS game play has been severely limited lately. That, plus I had to take a total computer break over the last day and a half to read the latest Harry Potter novel (before my kids get home from vacation & I don't see the book for several weeks! ) I do promise thought, I will continue with another update as soon as I possibly can...baring any RLS setbacks.
