  1. How do I raise crime rate?

I have attempted all of the methods in this thread but unfortunately I just can't get my crime rate up. Not even when using unlimited money. Does anyone have any further feedback either on other methods, or on what I may be missing with the methods described here? Seriously, my crime rate *refuses* to go up. For instance, right now, I've got 3900 residents, down from 6500 when I turned off my one police station, and eliminated industry. I have extremely high land value, so people aren't just totally abandoning the city en masse, but no matter what happens, the crame rate just sits and poddles about at 20-25%. I've gone back and forth with this for days... I would really appreciate any help. Thanks!
  2. Problem rendering new region maps

Thanks to everyone here for the assistance. Reducing resolution did resolve the problem. I really appreciate it! And though I am a big fan of mod content... I'm totally - TOTALLY - overwhelmed by the # of dependencies there are for custom content in SC4. I daresay it's toooooooooo many links to keep track of, have I installed this one and this one and this one and this one and this one and ...... I'm sure y'all have heard that a million times. But I just don't think I'm going to be able to get anything other than the maps going... *cowers in fear*
  3. I posted in another thread about this as well but I am having problems rendering newly downloaded region maps. I'm following the instructions fairly well I think, and I have triple checked my processes, starting over from scratch each time. I am having a problem with the region image shown after rendering, and this occurs whether I use software or hardware rendering. (I am using a 3GB GTX 580, so that was a surprise.) The error - with that blue stripe at the bottom of large city tiles - appears every single time. When I go into the city though - the city tile itself does not show any errors. Updating the city with development and saving that does not solve the problem, nor does adjusting the city tile edges. i've hunted and hunted around, but haven't found anything other than several references to the step by step instructions for installing maps. Again, I've followed them closely. I have turned off my antivirus, any extraneous tasks, and have nothing open except the game when rendering. I even disabled my second monitor. Thanks in advance for any assistance! I'm new to SC4 (2 months or so) and enjoy custom content a lot! Here's a pic of the errored render:
  4. Installing a Region Downloaded from the STEX

I have had quite a bit of success thus far with downloading and installing region maps, however, when I render them - which does work, and is much faster via software versus hardware even though I have a 3GB GTX 580. I have made sure to turn everything off that isn't absolutely required. The interesting thing for me is that I get the very same errored results whether using hardware or software to render the new map. I've attached a pic of my results when rendering. The very same error - with those blue stripes at the bottom of each city square - happens every time, and only on large city tiles. When I load the city itself, the rendering error does not appear - which is to say if I go into a city tile the rendering error doesn't appear in the single tile image. Saving the city with some development doesn't help, nor does changing the edges. Any help would be very appreciated. I just bought SC4 on Amazon a couple months ago and have just started trying to learn the game and how to play with custom content. (I love mods for every game that supports them.) Anyway, without further ado... The image looks like this:
