  1. Wouanagaine: I have a question/problem. I noticed that after I create a region in the Terrain Generator, and then open it in SC4, the terrain looks fine until you zoom in- then the entire terrain surface is covered with the "grid" that normally appears just around the cursor. I also noticed that the usual highlighted square that appears when, say, laying a road or street, doesn't show up. Is this just a glitch- or a result of a mod ( I do have the Missouri Breaks terrain mod) interfering? Any thoughts?
  2. Ploppable eye candy homes

N_O_Body: Eh...no, that wasn't it. Nothing is different settings-wise. I had the same problem when I tried downloading 6459978's ploppable rowhomes. The lots would plop w/o the buildings. I have Joerg's Airport Pack, which requires the bldgprop_vol1+2 dats (which I have), and his Maxis building terminals show up just fine...
  3. Ploppable eye candy homes

Problem- now that I installed these ploppable homes ( that use Maxis houses as props), the homes don't show up in the game. The lots plop just fine, but no buildings! I did download the Buildings As Props dats from the Maxis website, so what gives????
  4. Ploppable eye candy homes

Natuurzoon- I think those are what I was thinking of! I noticed they were put on the STEX in May- my how time flies!!! Thank you!!!
  5. Ploppable eye candy homes

@ Natuurzoon: Yeah, that's my problem! I think I went back 10-15 pages in the STEX, but I couldn't find 'em! They couldn't have been that old... As for the plops you suggested, I tried downloading those before, but the buildings wouldn't show up. Thank you, though!
  6. Ploppable eye candy homes

No, not the ones that Ralphaelninja did- there was another one that somebody did not too long ago and I know it was on the STEX... it was houses only, I think they were only from the Chicago/ New York set...
  7. I could have swore that I saw a set of ploppable Maxis homes on the STEX a while ago, but now going back through all the pages, I can't find them. Anybody have any clues/ links? I was thinking of using them in combination with the NAM "dirt trail" ped. plaza puzzle pieces to simulate country homes that are set back further from the streets/ roads like in some rural areas around where I live... I figured that they would work well because they don't require road connections, which would cause those nasty "No Road Connection" zots!
  8. 6459978 Rowhouses

Ah, more good suggestions, I have yet to try any of these (busy and all)... but alternating high and low densities, huh? My small town has only about 12,000 people, too. Wonder if that has anything to do with it- although I thought 10,000 was the point at which you could expect higher density res. buildings to pop up.
  9. 6459978 Rowhouses

@6459978: Yeah, that's all I thought I would need... I have them placed in a file for Joerg's Airport Set. So I would assume that it would be shared with your files (or am I wrong)? @hamsterTK: I'll give that a try- although I usually use a larger block layout, as apposed to the 1x# you suggest...i.e.: sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss sMMMMMMMMMMsMMMMMMMMMMs sMMMMMMMMMMsMMMMMMMMMMs sMMMMMMMMMMsMMMMMMMMMMs sMMMMMMMMMMsMMMMMMMMMMs sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss with the lots facing out towards the top and bottom streets. But I will give your method a try, thanks!
  10. Has anyone else downloaded 6459978's Rowhouse Ploppables? I did, but the building models don't show up! I do have the "bldgprop_vol1 &2", so I'm stumped as to what else could be the prob. I reeeeeeeeally want these for my cities, as I have a hard time getting the growable Maxis ones to sprout up... anyone have some suggestions?!?!?!?!?! Thanx!
  11. Cycledogg's trees

Oh. I thought I read somewhere (don't remember where, though) to place some files in the Program Plugins folder so that they would be read first, i.e. mods and the like. But, you say no? Good to know... Thx
  12. Cycledogg's trees

Well, I went back into my ProgramFiles/Maxis/SimCity4 folder and then opened the Plugins folder: yep, only one CPT_7 dat file there. All the rest are out of said Plugin folder, but still in the SimCity4 folder. I tried removing all of these to another folder, and voila!!! Problem solved. Maybe I just misunderstood the instructions, but I did only have one of those files in my plugins- for some reason the game picked up on all the others, too... oh well- all better. Thanks for the feed back though, guys!
  13. Cycledogg's trees

Soooooo........ya think that'll solve the problem, Tracker?
  14. I have a question/ problem: I downloaded Cycledogg's tree collection right after it was released on the STEX (so a while ago) and noticed that after installing (following the instructions to a "T"- puting the "CPT_No7_TreeController_DefaultMaxis..." plugin in the ProgramFiles/Maxis/SimCity4/Plugins folder and leaving the other tree controller plugins out (in the SimCity4 folder, though) and have the required No8 and No9 plugins in the regular plugins folder under the Doc. folder path. <whew> But, when I open the game and go into Mayor Mode trees and cycle down to the afore-mentioned trees, they show up fine- just that the set is duplicated in the menu about 10 times or so. This never was a big deal until I dl'ed Jeronij's set of DuskTrooper trees- these are now placed after the repeated sets of Cycledogg trees, making for alot of scrolling . Is there a way to delete these extra sets of Cycledogg trees in my menu/ did I not place them in my folders correctly? Not a huge deal, but any help would be appreciated!!!
  15. Wait! I figured out how to get it to work!!! Woo-hooooooooooo! After I dl'd the greyscale to "My Pics" folder, I opened it with Windows Pic and Fax Viewer, then saved the opened image to my Paint Shop Pro program. I then opened PSP, edited the image to true greyscale and "ta-da"!!! Thank you both for the suggestions, though!
