Not enough places to ship freight?
Vinicius Maciel replied to mhammett's topic in SimCity (2013) Technical Help Q&A
same here... it seems to me that there should be enough commercial zones in town (or in neighbor cities linked to your industrial one) to create freight demand... not sure, though... -
Recycling centers
Vinicius Maciel replied to Count_BoneHead's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Thanks for your help, guys. I think it's a pretty serious bug... Can't fix it. And can't keep playing my region as well, cause this problem is causing a chain reaction which is leading me to total failure: in my residential city, garbage accumulates very quickly, leading to ground pollution, sickness, fires... increasing services to compensate it is absurdely expensive, leading me to bankruptcy... So I'll start a new region and try not to use recycling until it's fixed... -
Recycling centers
Vinicius Maciel replied to Count_BoneHead's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
No for both... my recycling center is basically to deal with the garbage of my neighbor residential city... I send the trucks there but they just won't go... the regular garbage trucks and my garbage dumps are working just fine! The problem is the recycling ones... they're not collecting anything not even delivering what's already stored to Trade Depots or Processor Factory... I'm puzzled... EDIT: Yea, good idea... I'll doze it and then rebuild it to see what happens... -
Recycling centers

I've got an issue with my recycling center... It says 20/20 tons of recycled materials storage, but the plastic, alloy and metal bars are near empty. Except for plastic, it says I have 420 crates of it, and it won't change for more or less... My city is complaining about garbage everywhere (recyclabe, I've checked) and no trucks will pick it up... I have a plastic storage at my trade depot and set it to be exported... nothing happened... I've plopped a Processor Factory to see if I could use this stored plastic, but nothing happened... I have all delivery trucks and reclamation trucks placed, don't know what else to do... -
Commuter City
Vinicius Maciel replied to blue_francis14's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
That's a good thought... Probably my few C areas are already employing everybody in town (kinda buggy, since the proportion isn't really realistic for that)... I'll try re-zoning C for R and check if people will commute to work at my industrial / mining city. -

I'm gonna check that now... I just had to zone some few R areas at my industry city to keep it from going totally abandoned... Thought that maybe the basic services needed locals to work on them instead of commuters.. let's see. -

I'm trying to do that with my new region, but I'm failing so far... One city with all the industries, mining and basic services, and the neighboor city with R and C only (and education)... Train and Bus system linking them... but people won't just commute! My industrial city is failing for lack of workers and my Residential one, for lack of jobs (therefore, both near bankruptcy...). Dunno what else to do! -
Ground water drying up too fast!
Vinicius Maciel replied to Vinicius Maciel's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
It should be noted that the water table will still be polluted if built near something that causes significant ground pollution. My first city had a sort of "utilities" area which had my Nuclear Power plant. Needless to say it polluted my water table and 200K sims are drinking "filthy" grade water. Not sure if filtration helps at that point. I haven't gone nuclear yet, but I believe filtration really isn't really able to remove radiation from water... But regular ground polution responds well to filters... -

Thanks guys... Yea, we've been having some space problems with the tiny maps... I followed you guys' advices and built water filters by my sewage treatment plant... (Ewww...). Seems to be working. -
Ground water drying up too fast!
Vinicius Maciel posted a topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
Mayors, I have a 100k city (specialized on mining and trading raw materials)... The ground has plenty of water, but what happens is that the water dries up too freakin fast! I'm at year 3, and I had to move my water pumps 3 times around the city because of repeated water shortages... And that just ruins my city planning since I have to demolish other areas to get water from the ground... have you been through something like that? Any ideas on the issue? Thanks. -
Constant need for more residential
Vinicius Maciel replied to rbeach-uk's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
It's constantly saying "Worker Shortage", or "Not enought shoppers", no matter how much residential areas I have built in... But besides that (and the inconstant "sewage pipes backed up" thing), the game is running smoothly.
