The Empire of Chaumont - 'Delightfully Oppressive'
cox69 replied to jarnomiedema's topic in SC4 City Journals
Date: 8/17/2005 5:38:12 PM Author: jarnomiedema Hey all! Thanks for the wonderful comments you've all left here.. I find that I really like posting an update and wondering what people write and your comments definitely make it worth updating! So, once more; thanks a lot! I actually wanted to make a section on Foreign Representations/Embassies in Chaumont in the previous update, but since it was already pretty large, I decided to leave that for a future update.. And since I'm so incredibly thankful for your wonderful comments, I hope to be able to put them up here within the next few hours! Once again; thank you all! It's very much appreciated! Now, on to the personal replies! Pipsphere, Ginchael: Thanks for your comments and thanks so much for adding Chaumont to your signatures! Kmoh4346, Traffic_Jam, Sloppet, Sharkbait16: : Thanks a lot for your comments! Jasperdeman.nl: Trust me, a comment like that is always nice to say to someone who one day wants to try writing a good history book. There's not a single Dutch book about the Civil War and I'm actually thinking of writing one in the not too distant future.. (Fingers crossed here..) Ssieve1: Just to give you an idea, I spend an average of about two or three hours on an update.. And that doesn't include the graphics I make, I'm just talking about the writing and gathering images.. (The political diagram was made about a year ago when I was between City Journals and wanted to make a new CJ in the future.. I didn't think it'd take me this long though.. ) With a little luck, I have to spend far less time on the next update which I just announced.. Wraith101: Thanks, it's always nice to hear that someone's been drawn out of the darker regions of Simtropolis into the light.. Meinhosen: Thanks for your comment! As for the banners, flags and soldiers, those are all props I made in GMAX.. In fact the banners were among some of the first stuff I made, so some of them aren't really aligned perfectly.. Ah well.. As long as they look good on the shots, right? Kant01: *Slaps Kant01 on the cheeks* Wake up! We don't want people passing out here.. Oh, and don't worry.. It'll be quite a while before I stop.. You can be sure of that.. Deathtoall: What I tried to do was just look at how Napoleon ran France and then transplant that to a fictional country and then, with a bit of imagination, Chaumont was born.. Lonaryl: Thanks for your comment and please keep it up! Always nice to hear feedback, right? As for your glimpse into the future, I hope that will be the case eventually! Pikatchoum: Thanks for the comment! Phew.. That fortress gave me a headache.. I actually drew the outlines with a ruler on math-paper (you know, with the little squares..) and I just went to work in Simcity as though I was trying to draw it pixel by pixel.. (If I find the time, I might just show how I did it..) Kekus74: Lol.. Thanks a lot for that comment, it definitely made me laugh.. Flrscf: Lol.. Well, some history books might surprise you though.. I have plenty that are really good, but then I'm interested in history no matter what, so that might not be the case for everyone.. For my birthday (which was the 12th of August, but will be celebrated the 20th) my aunt has already promised she'll buy the book 'History for Dummies'.. I can hardly wait.. En dankjewel voor je bijdrage! Palmgurl: Thanks for your comment, palmgurl.. I'll see what I can do about the palms, but since I've installed the 'No Palm Tree' mod a long, long time ago, I don't think I can oblige.. Jerebannus XVI: Ah, the Roman Catholic Church, eh? Well, I have something planned about Chaumont's churches for the future.. There's a bit of an interesting story behind that too.. But you'll have to wait.. Thanks for your comment and thanks for adding me to your signature as well! Oh, and thanks for standing up for the honor of the Emperor.. When you restart Gir -
