So I took out LRM v40 and LRMv40_Mega_Pack and everything looked normal...not lit up so bright...but then other things obvious didn't work...and I had no street lights. I have ploppable street lights...but I don't really like using them because if I build something, I have to demolish the lights...

The cars and planes are back to normal...I think i just lowered the setting to get them back. I think I have the LRM...I have so many mods...Ok...I have LRM v40 and LRMv40_Mega_Pack.

Tried that...didn't help anything...

I will try that...I ended up fiddling with a few settings...next thing I knew, my cars and plans were all red, blue and green blobs...lol. Tried another setting and there were no cars at all...

Tried to change the rendering thing, but it didn't change anything. Parking lots were still bright as heck....oh well

I have version 1.1.638.0....What is hardware rendering? And how do I change it??

No not yet. I will be ordering the game in the next couple of days when I get paid. Then I can dl the patch and have the updated game etc. Then I will see how it is.... was just wonder what the cause of this was...or is it because I don't have the right version of the game?

I recently downloaded a building - Shenzhen CBD Sheraton ( ) as it had 5 stars and the night view looks cool with different colors. I DL'ed it and put it in my plugin folder and found it in the game and "plopped" it. I then switched to night view to find only what I think are water fountains...light up. Now...it says the dependencies are optional...but if they are needed to light up the building...I can't find the dependency files: BSC_NPTransitions_V1 BSC_CurvedEdgePaths_V1 I found the first one...not to download...but it mentioned something about a BSC Textures Pack Vol 4....but I can't find that either. Anyone?? Thanks in advance.

Yeah I will definitely get a refund. I will try a more reputable store on Amazon and maybe try the download again. Otherwise I will do the discs....

Hello. And Merry Christmas. Right now I have a copy of SimCity 4 Deluxe that a friend made me. I was told that I needed to patch my game so some of my mods would work right...update the game. However, the patches I downloaded...it updated the Dat files, but didn't update the exe file...and got some message about not finding the old file. The game was fine...other than a couple buildings didn't light up in night mode...and I noticed too that the lights on the avenue didn't light up either... Well I got a gift card for Christmas for Amazon.com and I am looking to buy a legit copy/cd of SimCity Deluxe. However, I use my laptop more than my desktop...and my laptop uses Windows 7...and my desktop uses XP. Looking through Amazon.com, I notice it says the platforms for most of the game disks are for Windows 2000/98/ME/XP or Windows 2000/98/ME/Vista/XP...or Unknown Platform. My concern is...will any of these work with Windows 7?? Or do I HAVE to find a Windows 7 Copy?? Yeah I am just gonna buy the disc(s) when I get paid again rather than downloading a legit copy. As far as the avenues go...figured that one out by accident. I noticed if the road is in an empty area...ie...no buildings or anything around...the lights will not turn on. However, today I thought maybe since I updated my game, maybe if I deleted the building, and rebuilt it...it would light up. No dice. However, I noticed with the building demolished and gone, the street lights went out. And when I put the building back, the lights came back on. So I ended up putting several windmills down a long stretch of empty avenue...and the lights came on. So that is figured out. The building however, is not. Maybe when I buy the disc, I will be able to update the BAT file and everything will work.

Ugh....think I got a bad copy. I downloaded that BAT update and it said something about Old file not found...blah blah blah. Guess I will have to buy the actual disc....

Ok...I found and bought a downloadable copy from Amazon.com. I loaded it up and now have version EP1 Update 1 / 1.1.638.0. I deleted my old copy...saved my regions, plugins etc and now have the right version that I bought. I loaded up all my plugins...etc...loaded up the game...and that building ( ) Shenzhen CBD Sheraton...and it still does not light up...nor do the lights on my avenues. I just moved all the plugins and regions etc into the right MyDocs\SimCity4 folder from my thumbdrive. Is this something where I need to delete all my plugins and then physically reload them one by one from the original downloaded files? I also have these newer traffic lights... ...and I notice the red yellow green light up at night...but the actual light above the stop light does not light up at night. Hmmmm....

Yeah...not sure what I want to do yet. I found it fairly cheap on Amazon.com....but if the sale on Steam is until Jan 5th, I may wait until I get paid again. I still have to get a new DVD player with the USB port in it too...mine just died the other night....but I found one on Walmart.com and it so happens that I got a gift card to Walmart too...so that should cover most of it...lol. Just glad the game will work on Win7

How do I buy it from Steam? And how much?

A friend made a copy of it for me. Should I go ahead a buy it and maybe that will help? I am using the game on my laptop....and it runs Windows 7. Will it matter if I get an XP copy...will it work on Win7? Or should I look for a Win7 Copy? Sorry I didn't buy a copy to begin with. I am severely disabled and don't have a lot of money to buy these kind of games.

Ok...I dl'ed all the updates...and 1, 2, 3 all gave the same error. Update 4 seemed to work...the only thing is...the exe file didn't change to the right version. And it was not the right size. However, all the other files that were supposed to change...Graphics Rules.sgr and SimCity1.dat, SimCity2.dat, SimCity3.dat, SimCity4.dat, all changed to the right size...but the dates didn't seem to change that I know of...11/14/2003. Not sure what to do?

Ok...DL'ed the one I mentioned. Unzipped it...and got this message "Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match."

I don't see a Maxis Files Section....

Sorry about that. I have that file...I have BSC Textures Vol 1 and 2...so not sure what I may be missing??
