Something Paradox does well is letting their developers, most of them independent studios who they "produce", to do whatever they think is best for their game. I know Paradox is not making craploads of money, but it's making the games they want, that also are awesome and give them enough to live comfortably.

Haven't seen this around (source): A very beautiful neighbourhood. I think that to some degree I'll try to build towns that look great, ahead from money-makers or high pop.

I'm just thinking of the "politics" posibilities, the interactions between regions, the trade embargos, roleplay, fights for power, nation-wide alliances between regions... I can only think of great stuff coming from multiplayer. And you can still play isolated, the only thing is that you need an internet connection to play, either alone or with other people.
