  1. I'd expect the modding capabilities on this to eventually include everything down to Glassbox scripting. Not straight away, fine, but certainly after the first major update. Give this a couple of years and I'm sure modders will be creating some spectacular stuff for it that blows anything you can do on the SC4 engine out of the water.
  2. Favorite New Feature?

    This! There's so much potential here. I know we're not getting the game of our dreams, but honestly even modded all the way to hell, SC4RH isn't the game of my dreams. There's no subways yet, but there are 3D pathable light rail lines, so making them into subways won't be hard. I'm also looking forward to what can be done going forward with this, both in official development and modding. Subways, monorails, el rail. Canals with underground tunnels and raised aqueducts. I'm looking forward to the state where something like can be achieved as a functional part of the city rather than a cosmetic mod. The cities are smallish, but they share resources like education and fire and crime, which is *much* deeper region play than in SC4 (and that, for me, is my personal "favourite" new feature, at least on paper). It's much more reminiscent of how real large municipal areas grow, out of smaller towns that merge together. I *am* looking forward to SC2 or the big "Rush Hour" equivalent expansion pack or whatever will happen. So I'm not going to gripe about what isn't in this one. As far as it looks from here, most of what people want only isn't in this one *yet*.
  3. From what I can see, the only aspects of "multiplayer" that everyone will be necessarily involved with are the global trade stuff, which is optional. And as far as that goes, it seems to me that it's more like they've crowdsourced the simulation of a global commodities market rather than tried to model it entirely in AI. Which is, y'know, fine.
  4. Over here, the diehard SimCity fans with harddrives full of mods - they're just not enough to make a difference if they "boycott" SC5. But similarly, I'm at a loss as to why they'd want to. Seriously. There's lots of things that I get a feeling won't be in this that I would quite like. There's lots of things that will be in that I think I will like. And fundamentally, if it's moddable, they can be added. Not to mention that if it's successful, SC6 will come out.
  5. So... the NEXL page seems to be down. Is this still available?
  6. Brenda_Xne's BAT Projects

    I know that Brenda probably isn't here any more, I was wondering if anyone else had problems with her mods. 2 of her mods, the Modern Subway v.2 and the MEBSP Station, give me a glitch when I plant them of maxing out their capacity at 8 and 1 respectively. The other mods don't seem to be affected. I'm running NAM, could the multipliers be affecting the mods somehow?
