  1. Last night I had internet problems on my PC so I used my mobile phone as an AP to play. After 4 hours play my mobile reported that 90 MB data was transferred between my PC and internet. Since I had no other PC background applications running that might access internet, I think this 90 MB/4 hours is all by SC.
  2. It happens several times to my cities. At first the education is fine. I didn't have university but my high school is enrolling all students in the city. So the education is 5 star although the technical level is none (I have no industry). Then suddenly from one day the school has almost no students. The education level drops. I checked but don't know why. The school is working properly, buses going out for students. The problem is: there are just no students! No where, not in the street, not in the school bus station... When I check the education data map, the residential buildings are all gray.
  3. Strange air pollution while there is not a single city upwind. Wasn't this supposed to be solved by patch 2.0?
  4. Take a 16-city region for example. Normally by the connectivity of highway these cities are grouped into 4 connected components each of which has 4 cities. Sometimes two groups of cities having no highway connections might have railway connection, sometimes no. So my question is: What are the effects across different city groups? For example, I know that criminal from one city can go to another by highway. Can they also enter another city by railway? Or, can they magically go to another city group with neither highway nor railway connections? And the same question for tourists, effects of university.... They are region shared or city group shared?
  5. OK. So yesterday I tried one thing. I cut the road connection to the region, demolished the police station, and then gradually demolished all the roads in the city until only a small isolated piece remains in the corner, which was filled with 100+ criminals. Then I stopped because I assumed if I demolish even this last piece, the criminals would be teleported back to the region. No? Then I thought I could safely restart my city as long as I kept this small road piece isolated, where those criminals would just wander back and forth forever. Maybe later when everything is fine I could reconnect this small piece and let my new police station to catch them... But but but after a while, I returned to the road piece in the corner, and found the criminals were gone... They were dead, or teleported back to the region anyway?
  6. OK. Here is the thing. I have a city, and I decide to demolish everything to start over. Then what should I do with the police station? Currently there are 100+ criminals kept. If I simply demolish the police station, the 100+ criminals will be freed to the street, which might be a nightmare? Is there any trick? For example, if I first isolate the police station from the world by disconnect the roads, and then demolish the station, what will happen? The criminals will forever staying in the isolated street? Or if I further demolish the street where they are, they will disappear, or will be teleported to the nearest existing road?
  7. So I planted many trees in every empty corner of my city. My first question is: Though the trees appear in the menu of $$parks, I guess there is not any real effect of trees in the game except decoration, right? Second question: why these trees die and disappear after some time?
  8. I build three detective wings in my large police station, but apparently I don't see any difference: running in the streets are still the regular police cars. Is detective wing supposed to send some detective van out in the city?
  9. Just one thing. There are two shifts everyday (6 am and 6 pm),and it should be different sims that work in the two shifts. should the number of jobs double counted?
  10. Hi. I just started a city in a region (don't remember the name but it's the only region with 7 cities), and it has two highway entries and the highway actually goes through inside the city. Since I don't play it very often this is the first time I find this. I guess people already know this? My question is, are there other cities like this?
  11. I just created a new city. Built a police station with two vehicles. First, I deleted the roads on which the police car is on, and the car was automatically moved to the nearest existing road and functioned normally. Second, I tried deleting the police station while the car was out on the road, then the police car's status immediately became "leaving the city". Before it really left the city, I rebuilt a police station, the car's status then returned to the garage and everything was normal. Then I repeated this experiment but this time let the car really leave the city into the region. Then I rebuilt the station, the car actually came back from the region to the garage and continued to function properly.
  12. Couple questions

No. There is no way to "reset" the city. What you can do is demolish everything (roads) in the city and start over. The natural resources and the pollution will keep its latest status. However there was a reported bug that after you demolish the service buildings (hospital, police station...) and later build another one, their services vehicles will disappear. Don't know if it's fixed. Be cautious about that though...
  13. The bug of disappearing service vehicles after demolishing the service building (or the road on which the service vehicles are) was really annoying to me. But today I built a city and made some experiments. It seems the bug is fixed now? Anyone can confirm this?
  14. Population Question

So this is the so-called "fudged" population?
  15. 1. Service vehicles disappearing after service building or roads get demolished. 2. Criminals becoming uncatchable after being released to street due to jail demolish For me, these two bugs are so frustrating that I decide to stop playing the game temporarily until they get fixed. But when on earth will they fix them? EA has at least acknowledged the first bug two weeks ago but it's still there. what makes the correction of this shocking bug so difficult?
