  1. Map Rendering Problems

There are two things that I know of that could cause this: Cycledogg's terrain mod (though it doesn't look like this is the case in your picture) Other height mods... these may include anything with the following names: import.dat 100m.dat 250m.dat 500m.dat 1000m.dat 1500m.dat 2000m.dat 2500m.dat 3000m.dat 3500m.dat 4000m.dat 4500m.dat 5000m.dat Make sure none of these are in your plugins folders... although it looks like you said you already have. Maybe search one more time.
  2. Sculpting Columbia River

I know I haven't posted in a while... sorry about that. But, I love the updates once again! It doesn't surprise me how good they are. EDIT: Okay then. I'm glad to be back!
  3. Yaquina Bay

LOL, every square inch! Well, not really... realistically, probably more like 1/5 or 1/6 of the coast is now on the STEX... but still.... lol. ;)
  4. Yaquina Bay

    Great map! 10/10
  5. MallowTheClouds Maps

Oh, the Tri-Cities map is IN the Map Pack. So... you have to look up something like Request Pack on the STEX.

Date: 8/19/2005 8:00:02 PM Author: tungston mallowthecloud: I like your work, I looked at the Portland map and I recognize the terrain. Although, it looks like Sandy Blvd. is a chain of small lakes. I went to high school there, and my family lives in the Mt. Taybor/Rocky Butte area. I would like to see a map with the Tri Cities (Pasco, Kenniwick, Richland) somewhere in the southcentral part. Maybe with Spokane on the northeast corner, including La Grande and The Dalles. BTW, would you be able to instruct me on how to change the city boundaries in the SC4 Deluxe standard custom region. I dislike the small cities, as I like to connect my cities with water. >thanks, quote> First, thanks! Second, Sandy Blvd is actually a bit further south, and aligned SW to NE. That chain of small lakes is actually the Columbia Slough. Third, there is actually already a map of the Tri-Cities... it is in the US Map Pack, I believe. Fourth, a map that includes Spokane, Tri Cities, LaGrande, and The Dalles would be far too big. This area is probably (just an estimate) 200km by 200km... unless you wanted it scaled down by a factor of 5 or 6. And finally, unfortunately, there is no way to change the city-size-layout (config.bmp) of an already-rendered map without deleting most of the data.

Date: 8/6/2005 3:15:58 PM Author: leonel1982 Portland has the MAX that covers the metro area east and west of Portland. The blue line goes all the way from Gresham through Portland to Hillsboro. The red line goes from Portland to the Airport and there's a new yellow line that goes from Portland to a convention center very near the Washington state border. http://www.trimet.org quote> Plus, they're planning on building a new (Green) line south to Clackamas Town Center.

Date: 8/16/2005 12:58:03 AM Author: Aran Just downloaded your Ann Arbor map and plan to use it in the morning. Looks terrific and rendered in less than five minutes on my desktop beast! Woohoo! I do have a question, though. Should the 500m.dat file remain in the plugins directory AFTER rendering or should it be removed? Thanks again for your hard work. Your maps look absolutely terrific.quote> I'm glad you like it! The 500m.dat can and should be removed from the plugins folder. Especially if you plan on rendering another map afterwards.
  9. Tijn21

The problem is with Cycledogg's Modd. That changes the ImportScaleFactor exemplar.... meaning maps don't render as they should. The only two options are to render without the mod, or modify Cycledogg's Modd in iLive's Reader to work properly.
  10. Tijn21

    Great map, as always!

Thank God no-one round here is religious lol.quote> An interestingly precipitate comment GB. quote> Well, when I read it... I thought he meant that nobody around there in real life (as in his neighborhood or town) was religious... maybe I was mistaken, though.
  13. Mapp Squad Request Pack 1 International Edition

  14. MallowTheClouds Maps

Reykjavik has been edited! Version 2 should be on the STEX soon.
  15. Mapp Squad Reykjavik

Thanks! I just updated it with better elevation data, so if you want it to be more accurate, go ahead and download it now.
  16. Wizards Coast

    Thanks!

Utora: Unfortunately, I don't know any way to create fantasy maps except either by hand, by editing real world terrains to your liking, or by using images like clouds. Sorry I can't help you more than that. SUICO: You are very welcome, and I truly appreciate all the work that you and the other moderators at http://www.simcitybrasil.com.br/ And, Wizards Coast has been released, and is slated to show up soon!
  18. Wizards Coast

Well, you don't 'install' the plugin, you just put it in your folder. It allows SimCity4 to render higher mountains, and I use a plugin for all of my maps in order to get correct elevations for my real-life regions.
  19. Wizards Coast

    Version 1.0

    365 Downloads

This is a map of fantasy I call Wizards Coast. It has a nice variety of terrain features to play on! It is 20 by 24 km. Have fun! Instructions (very important note below): If you don't have my plugins pack, download it here. 1) Place the 1000m.dat plugin in your plugins folder, and remove any other height mod plugins... thanks to Andy80586 and lookinin for helping me create the mods. 2) Create a new folder called Wizards Coast in your ...My Documents/SimCity 4/Regions directory. 3) Download the config.bmp file and place it in the new folder 4) Download the WizardsCoast1000.jpg file and remember where you downloaded it to. 5) Run your SimCity 4 game 6) Open the Wizards Coast Region 7) On your keyboard, press and hold down 'ctrl' + 'alt' + 'shift' + 'r'--this should bring up a dialogue box 8) Browse to the folder that you downloaded WizardsCoast1000.jpg to, find "WizardsCoast1000.jpg", and open this file. 9) This should start the rendering. BE PATIENT. This will likely take between 15 and 50 minutes. 10) Have fun! Copyrights: I don't care about copyrights. You may use this however you want, as long as it is legal. If you want to give someone credit, just say Mallow The Cloud made the map. For any information, questions comments, concerns, or suggestions about my maps, or if you want to request a custom config.bmp for one of my maps, visit this page.
  20. how do you install maps!?

It works on either one... Try loading another region, then going back to your new region. Then try Ctrl + Alt + Shift + R

  22. Official Mapping Community Requests

Date: 8/8/2005 2:03:07 PM Author: BIWDC maybe a thread on it would be a good idea,it couldn't hurt to see if others would like it.quote> Well, it's a great idea to say the least. However, I think it really would be impossible. The way SimCity4 renders a region (in God Mode) would not allow anything to render in Mayor Mode as well. The closest you may be able to get is to put trees or animals in beforehand... but even that would be really difficult to impossible. EDIT: Woot! 1000 posts!
  23. Official Mapping Community Requests

Well, I just finished all the Brazil Capitals, and I should be back to making maps (there's a nice long list I have to get working on). However, I'm on vacation starting in a half an hour... all the way through at least Tuesday. So... I'll be gone for a little while.
  24. Cannot render IMAGES in to REGIONS

Well the size has to do with the config. For a 1025 by 1025 map, the config should be 16 by 16 pixels. CMYK, for your information, stands for cyan-magenta-yellow-black... as opposed to RGB(W) for red-green-blue(-white) Anyway, try to load the jpg in an image editor (I use IrfanView), raise the color depth, then drop it back to a greyscale jpg and save it... if using IrfanView, make sure to check the box that says 'Save as greyscale JPG'. I hope this helps.
  25. Wood County - Rebirth

Lots of big buildings! Great skyline, can we see a region shot?
