  1. Legalization of cannabis

well, if you want to see what it would be like to legalise cannibis go to amsterdam and see what you make of it, the city isn't doing well from an economic point of view since it is being filled with junkies and low lifes which bring in higher crime rates and a growing gap between job opportunities and available workforce Amsterdam is thriving economicly... and the junkies seen on the streets in Amsterdam aren't the Dutch... these are the English, Spanish, Italian and American tourists. A world wide legalization and a well designed drugs education program could be a solution. The awareness of drugs and its abuse is much higher in a good informed but legalized environment then it is in a shady illegal environment without paths that help people stay of the drugs or help them get clean. Even worse in the illegal environment people who want to roll a joint (and people will do anyway, illegal or legal) have to go to a park like the one in Zurich where they are confrontated with the harder drugs and needles.
  2. Legalization of cannabis

And no one has actually answered my question, as to why any sane human being would want to take chemicals that alter your body-chemistry; alter your chemical balance at the molecular level. It's just idiotic. Absolutely idiotic. Do you do it because it relaxes you? Take up yoga or something! Go for long walks! Don't rely on body changing drugs. Do you want to escape from reality? Indulge in a good book or something. First of all... cannabis isn't a man made chemical. Its a pure product of nature which is used for ages by all sorts of tribes and ancient folks.>> Why are people drinking wine and beer, also to escape reality? Do you really think all people using cannabis or alcohol do that to escape reality?.... Cannabis and alcohol are used for exactly the same reason and I'll bet the alcohol effects your chemical balance even more then a joint once in a while. >> Also I'd like to see your source saying cannabis is a body changing drug... have your ever thought about modern medical drugs? Most of them contain hormones or other man made chemicals which also have downsides besides the positive effects.... and don't think they won't change your chemical balance. And what about the Chinese medical herbs... all products of nature that are proven to change you chemical balance... your also against that? Speaking of medical drugs.... cannabis has proven itself as being of medical interest for curing or controlling certain deceases. But on-topic... as the great Peter Tosh and Bob Marley always said.... Legalize it! >> For the next reasons: - Much better quality control possible - Keeps drugs related crime not as interesting anymore (no more dealers on the corner or even worse Mexico situations) - Extra revenues for taxes which can be invested in good drugs and alcohol education - Keeps the ignorant away from a drugs circuit in which people easily switch to harder drugs. - Makes it possible to inform users about the dangers at the government controlled selling points. - Makes it easier to explore the medical value of cannabis And to all people who think cannabis is the foundation for a junky unsuccessful life.... your wrong. Just like with alcohol its very possible to have a successful life for as long as you take your responsibility. I live in Holland where the herbs are legalized for ages now... Looking at our drugs rates it belongs to the lowest worldwide! Ask a person on the street what he knows about drugs and they probably able to tell you all the dangers. Besides that I rarely see a bum which became bum because of the weed... it's more often the alcohol or cocaine that ruins ones life. PS. me and my friends use(d) cannabis when playing a game of poker or at a good concert. We all have good jobs and university education level. Actually there isn't anybody in my network that lost a good life by smoking a joint once in a while. My 2 cents about the cannabis.
  3. Simtropia

It looks better... nice color and nice weatherd look although i think the horizontal lines make it look a bit odd. Especially when the wall is following a hill into a corner like in the 4th picture. I think in that stituation the plain cement texture looked better! Nice work as always
  4. Mapmaking

This is the index I made for mapmaking and often use! One point though, before you render your region make sure cycledogs mod is temporarily removed from your plugins folder, otherwise elevation will come out totally different as expected! Hope it helps, and try to find some maps without text!
  5. Realistic Harbors

Let me show you a pic from one of the harbors in my cannaberia city region!
  6. If SimCity4 were real life...

If SC4 would be real life I wouldn
  7. Aureliano. Flareflakes Rush.

I think we've a new Marrast here... the detail and custom lots in this CJ really make it unique!! Good luck with you're CJ... I'll follow this one for sure!!
  8. Port Maria

Same here.... and not only in this thread!!! In the previous thread (Terraforming a whole region) I got a virus warning as well!!
  9. Turry Metro Region to Scale

I can imagine why this map is hanging above the mayors desk!! It's a beautiful region you have there!!
  10. Ralston Metro Area

Nice city, beautiful pictures!! Rains alot in Ralston Metro, doesn't it
  11. Show us your Accomplishment!!

After all the lurking around I like showing you people what I
  12. Aerial Photography Discussion

Is that the Fulinger see in the first pic? I thought I recognized it, because I went there for a festival a couple of weeks ago... I like the city!!
  13. Lindaraja

Ohhh this looks sweet marrast... I really wonder how the fortress will look like, after filling in the planned areas!! One note, I think the Rotes Rathaus (or whatever its called) looks a bit out of place. I think the building is a bit to modern to be placed within the fortress walls... The royal square and palace looks very very good, especially the fountain with the cascades aswell as the main entrance with the market [:0] Question: which download contains those residential houses you used? Good luck with this project!!
  14. Stuvesandt: a secret island...

Goed werk gast, Great job.. I like all the pavement, it really gives a European flavour to your city!!
  15. Bently County - and beyond!

Great terrain you have there!! Like your city, it really has its own style!
  16. Eladremme

This CJ is truly amazing... It looks like you edited every single lot even industrial lots... I wonder how much time it takes, customizing all these lots and playing the game as well.... replying to my previous post: I did read that directives but I thought the interval was a bit to big. However I like the looks of the spacing, and in Moscow there is much more space indeed to have big inner-city grasslands... so I can understand where this derectives came from I find the spacing in the Brubus community just perfect it looks so real.. I think this is the best picture so far.. Good luck with it, Keep it up!
  17. The awakening of Lentbury

Nice city... lots of highrises spread through your city.. I like it and like your city layout aswell.
  18. The Freestate of Nassau

Ziet er goed uit... Your kroonstad central station district is really simular to The Hague centralstation district... especially with all the ministries and the highway entering the city..... (Utrechtse baan).. Keep it up!!
  19. Eladremme

This looks really great... Nice job on the lunapark, swimmingpool, theatre area..... its really stunning. I love the way you make and use your own lots, I think by repeating the props on the lots gives your city a very unique and realistic touch, beside that these lots give so much detail to your city... Your pics are good quality and love the plane idea showing your terraforming skills ....... one point of criticism though.... I think spacing between highrise buildings is to big. I must say it looks great on the pics but I don't think it's very realistic. You've got a lot of grasslands between development... and a lot of roads with little purpose. Where I'm coming from (netherlands) cities don't have enough room for expansion to create such enormous inner-city grasslands... maybe its different elsewhere so correct me when I'm wrong. But I really like your city layout and building style.... So keep those updates coming!!!
  20. CHICAGO...As real, as it gets...

Nice job.... Your Chicago really looks like the posted pics... I like the way you terraformed the canals. I think it looks much better this way then using the canal pack.... Tip.. since the canals all have perpendicular or 45 degree banks it would be cool using the jeronji seawalls, I think it will make your canals look more realistic (but that's just my opinion)... Good luck.
  21. Mandursuro: a ChicAgo333 city journal

Nice work.... looks very good, really like the lofts part and man that cemetery is huge!! Is there going to be some more high density residential in your region?
  22. Halcyon Sound Revisited

Hmmmm.... I never seen this CJ before. I think I don't know what to say.... I really love it, I guess putting in some farmland will make it even more realistic. I must say you did a great job with the roads/highways and the development along it, I also like the way you did your waterfronts and parks, well done
  23. Small Office Buildings

looks good, I guess it could use some more windows in the stone part of the building... And I agree with you, SC4 really needs more small office buildings... A city with only skyscrapers isn't that realistic.. Good luck.
  24. Sculpting Columbia River

He amigo, Its becoming a really nice city.... I especially like your waterfronts and harbours!! I think your city needs more concrete factories to keep up with all this concrete demand! LOL But the walls sure looks nice and I'm planning on using them in my harbour region aswell... We'll be waiting for a new update... Adios..
  25. Sun Valley, a Bobinator city journal

Very nice CJ.... I agree with majortim about the picture size. I prefer 600x600, is big enough for showing cities and prevents scrolling horizontally. I really like the placement of the Cathedral.... Its just on the right spot
