  1. The Road Geek Challenge

The winner is Nugget699. Congratulations! You have 2 points. The maximum speed allowed on Sweden's motorways is 110 kph, or 68 mph. The speed limit for cars with trailers is 80 kph, or 50 mph, as hello_SC4 stated. Some stretches of motorways in larger cities have reduced speed limits. Heavy fines and a possible suspension of your license are the penalties for speeding in Sweden. Also, since much of Sweden is forested, there are numerous moose and deer crossing signs along the country's motorways. Question #3: 2 points The city of Pittsburgh introduced the _________ System in the mid-1990s so people can navigate through the area faster and easier. (Wayfinder)
  2. The Road Geek Challenge

The winner is Med-Rox. Congratulations! You have 2 points. The Palmetto Expressway is the 2nd busiest expressway in Dade County. The road begins in North Miami Beach, but the expressway begins at the Golden Glades Interchange, and loops around the city of Miami, south to Kendall, to US-1. I-75 begins at the junction of FL-826 and FL-924 in Hialeah. The road was constructed from 1958 to 1962, and has been expanded several times during its history due to the booming suburbs. Currently, the expressway is under major expansion to accommodate the huge traffic load, and construction isn't set to be completed until 2010. Question #2: 2 points What is the maximum speed allowed on Sweden's motorways? I will accept the answer in kph or mph. (110 kph, or 68 mph)
  3. Roller Coaster Tycoon 3

Finally a RCT game that looks great! I was very disappointed in RCT2, and the lack of changes. This looks very promising.
  4. Official BAT Request Thread

These aren't exactly requests, but here's three interesting suggestions for some of you more experienced, and even some of you novice gmax users. LOVE Park, Philadelphia, PA. Spoonbridge and Cherry-Minneapolis, MN. Swiss Re Headquarters-London, UK.
  5. TEXTURES: Official Thread

Thanks for all the great links. It seems that the biggest problem I have is deciding on a texture to use. The variety will definitely help.
  6. Simtropolis Billboard

They're actually connected. It's all one prop, actually. I hope to see your billboard props, soon, Equinox.
  7. Building Log: World Trade Center (Pre-9/11)

The BAT skills coming from this site amazes me, and the WTC is just another example. Excellent work. It's a fitting tribute to the heroes who lost their lives.
  8. Simtropolis Billboard

Bigger? I could have made it bigger, but I didn't think it would look that realistic. Anyway, thanks for the feedback. And Simtropolis needs to advertise more, in my opinion. There probably won't be any other billboards, but I'm planning a boardwalk set in the near future.

Basically, it's a highway billboard. It's my first completed BAT structure.
  10. North Valley - Exquisite Regional Beauty

Excellent region so far. It's looking great. And it looks like you're taking advantage of the BAT buildings.
  11. Official BAT Request Thread

Well, I seem to find the BAT very difficult, not surprisingly, so I think I should request some things. It seems the majority are looking for skyscrapers. How about some good, old-fsahioned, low density houses? Show off your house-building skills, guys and gals. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/1.gif>
  12. Nexis of Genesis

This is so original. If the cities are as great as your story, well, we might have a 2004 Trixie Award nominee. I'm keeping an eye on this journal.
  13. Spokane WA

Since Llama Mapmaking Inc. is kind of closing its doors for now, it's nice to see at least one of the maps I promised to make actually be made. Excellent job.
  14. Compiling a Glossary of City Building Terms.

    11. Viaduct - a bridge that consists of short masonry or concrete arched spans supported on towers. Viaducts usually take a road or railroad over a wide valley. There's actually one in my area, the Nicholson Viaduct. It more impressive when you see it in person. http://www.bridgemeister.com/images/martin1.jpg>
  15. arrows in zones

The arrows point to where the roads should touch the lot. If the arrow is facing away from the road, the dreaded no-car zot will appear, and no development occurs. Industrial zones have no arrows initially. Landfill doesn't have arrows, either. Good zoning. Bad zoning.
  16. Philadelphia Metro

You're off by a few points. 34-27, Philly!
  17. Stamford

6x6, 36 large cities, beash. You can edit the config map if you'd like.

Accurate map of Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love. The region also includes Camden, New Jersey.

Accurate map of the city of Stamford on the southern tip of Connecticut.
  20. Kill Devil Hills

Well, I'm limited to the USGS information, and this is a tough one to recreate. It is a little leggy, yes. I'm still kind of new at this mapmaking, so bear with me. Some will be better and more accurate than others.
  21. Sandusky Ohio

Shadowryche, I was hoping Cedar Point was more accurate, actually, but it kind of thinned out when making the map, unfortunately. I can't be perfect, I guess.
  22. Who uses subscriptions?

When I came back to work after the weekend and checked my mail account, I had about 70 emails in it. That was the last time! ---------------- Haha! Oh man! You subscribed to that thread? That is most likely the 100 replies thread I started a long time ago, before I found Simtropolis. I did get the 100 replies, but was deleted soon after.
  23. Mackinaw Michigan

Very nice region. Not at actual scale, hehe, but it's got everything you need to create a beautiful region.
  24. Portland Oregon

Press the JPG button above and download the greyscale pic. Download the config bitmap and place it in C:My Documents\SimCity 4\Regions\*region name*. This map is larger than your traditional region so you'll need to change the config bmp. You can edit the config to whatever size cities you want.
  25. Portland Oregon

The region is already pretty large. The region consists of 36 large cities, one of the largest regions I've made so far. I can't please everybody, I guess.
