  1. Err, what is this?

You have clearly installed the War of the Worlds mod.
  2. Hey all I am obviously aware that this is, first and foremost, a city simulator and everything is geared to that end. However towns, let alone cities, don’t just spring up off of highways. I can understand that once you have a few areas built up, then demand for “pre-built” residential towns/suburbs means place can effectively spring up as a result of demand. I was always a big fan of the “natural growth” journals that used to be popular and I have always planned these simulators with realistic expansion and development being key. Before the build up of mass transit and skyscrapers then, I want to create basic, small settlement/agricultural areas (the roots of cities) that develop into the first build up of towns. Initially I imagine I will need to enable the mode that lets you build anything at anytime in order to select farming districts from the get go. But what about roads? I saw some posts of people using highway ramps as 1 lane-1 way roads and there are gravel roads available to use too. I would like to pull ideas on how I and others could do this.
  3. I am not saying its the right way and everyone else is "doing it wrong." Its just how I like to play is all...
  4. But not unless there is a demand for that. When you start a region there is "nothing." Of course you can create a scenario where you are building a suburb based on demand from a region off map, but you can also create a scenario where your starting location is where the demand begins and the most basic development would be agriculture. I am just setting the scene for what I would like to create.
  5. I will definitely be buying to see what all the fuss is about, but does it just turn into skyscraper after skyscraper, or can you make it a bit more of a natural evolution?
