Something strange is happening with my airport. Everytime I leave the city, when I go back in my city, my airport look depressed, and my Usage is at 0 ! Once I run the game for one month, my airport is back with its usual usage and look clean and good again. Is this a common bug? Or is there something wrong with my game? I am using SC4 Deluxe with the latest patch from Maxis. Also, is there any way to remove the "EA Games: CHallenge everything" at the startup of the game? I can skip the video by pressing Escape, or by clicking my mouse button, but I just cant skip that "EA Games" startup video. If I could skip everything and just directly go to the loading it would be even better, but is there, at least, a way to skip the "EA Games" video? Thank you in advance :-)

18'000 populations in less than 2 years !?!

Thanks for the fast answer... but How did I expand that fast? I did the exact same thing that I did in the IdoIT guide, no more no less... Now, I guess I will simply leave the city without school, destory the High Tech, and try to "normally" build the city budget for a little time... I guess sometime, my population and RCI demand will be back to "normal"... ((edit)) Thanks Facelessman, I answered as you did, but ok, the more people in my region, the more connections through each cities, and the faster the population will grow :-) Got it :-) -
My first cities creations attempt was pretty bad. My sims were living poorly and in pain. So I found this site, and I found the "First city, a slum for all" and "IdoIT town" guides, and I decided to follow those guides for my first city, in order to better understand the strategies. I started in a brand new empty region, and with the help of the IdoIT guide, my new city growed very very well. Once I got to 40'000 population (in 14 years instead of 16 like the guide suggested) I felt that my understanding in city planning was good enough to start a city on my own. So I created a new city next to my IdoIT city. Confidend, I do everything, set the taxes, zone, etc.... then I let the game run at full speed... Before the end of the first year, they already asked for a cemetary, 2 churchs, for more and more and more electricity, and they offer me my house. I get large school and large high school request by the end of the first year. In the middle of the second year, I stop the watch. My electricity is close to full capacity, and my population, in about 18 months, is close to 18'000 sims.... My industrial zone is fill with High-Tech buildings, my office demand is at the top, and my sims are complaining a lack of employments... I continued to let the time pass, and in year 3, most of my industries are unpopular, depressed and half empty, and my demand in everything is at the top... I saved there and didnt touch the game, I have to see all my strategy again. Im not sure where to begin. My budget is already in a deficit, they want schools, they want fire protection, the crime is growing everywhere, garbages, water and electricity usage is always growing ... Wow What happens? 18'000 in less than 2 years? Is this because I have a neighbour city of 40'000 full of jobs? As a side question, if create a new city, in a new region, with no neighbours at all, and if I do raise my dirty industry taxes to a big amount, like 18% or 20%, will I get manufacturing easier, or will I just loose all my industries and the cash that comes with it? Thanks for reading. Sorry for my bad english, it isnt my primary language.
