  1. Atlantia Region

Here is the region of Atlantia. I made this a while ago and since I recently started to get into playing SC4 again, I thought I'd continue with this project. The region was actually completed to my satisfaction but I decided to extend the region boundaries (around 30x30 pixel bit map I think). I consider myself to be a bit more "old school" than some, as I haven't yet take advantage of that many custom landmarks (though there are some) or any helping mods of any kind; like demand mods. Everything is done without cheats (it just adds to the satisfaction in my opinion). Here is a small tour of the region, navigating from some of the smaller suburban areas to the more central built up areas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-tNVJKOBao&feature=em-upload_owner The region itself is an archipelago, consisting of lakes, mountains and swirling rivers. This is one of the reasons why most cities make good use of ferry terminals and they have shown (much to my surprise) to be very effective. Zen is the heart of the region and supplies all the jobs to it's surrounding bedroom communities: Night view: As I developed the region, Zen has focused more as a commercial district; Over 600,000 commercial population, but it still supports more residents than any other city. One thing I have found a big challenge is abandonment, especially when demand is tight. This is why I've tried to educate the residential cities as much as possible to feed the Co$$$ to maximum potential. The West of the region is mostly comprised of High-Tech and manufacturing: One of the residential cities: A shot of the center of the region: Towards the outer edge where I will continue to develop (hopefully to fill the map) The population is currently just over 3 million, but as you can see there is room for much more. I was thinking of developing small suburban villages towards the bottom left of the Map, and to the right developing more high-rise cities. Towards the top right of the Region there is actually a small Island which I have just started to develop. It's isolated from all the action in the centre so the demand is totally independent. it's nice having the challenge to start from fresh again, but eventually it will be all linked up to the main metropolis. I was thinking of putting this region up for download, if people wanted to take their own twist on it, but I'm not exactly sure how I'd do that since the region probably has a big file size and I'm not sure what the best method would be. The region itself wasn't build over night, I've gone through phases of playing this game and being dormant over years. But since I am new to this site and I discovered how to extend the region boundaries through paint I'm now much more interested again to develop more :-) Thank you for taking time to look. Well thats it for now :-) more to come soon.
