Wait until you have been there, and you will very quickly change your mind, it is by far the worst airport I have ever had the mispleasure of using, it is so bad I actively avoid it at all costs. Thank god BA are starting flights to Orly, I will be using them from now on if I need to visit Paris! Of all the people I know, not one person has ever said anything positive about CDG, and all agree it is the worst airport they have used, and all also avoid it.
Theres just nothing positive that can be said about it. The layout is awful, connections are impossible, navigation is dreadful due to poor signage / layout, facilities are non existent.... its the only airport I have ever visited that doesnt have a bar / restaraunt in the terminal. I connected through there straight after work one night, I had a 4 hour layover so thought I would spend that time getting a nice meal in a restaraunt, after all france is renowned for its great cuisine.... what a mistake! Every time I have visited I have had a bad experience!
As for my favourite airport, Copenhagen Kastrup wins my vote. Very nicely laid out terminal, lots of facilities, the shopping is even good! Easy connections and great transport links into the city. Amsterdam also gets a vote for similar reasons (plus the superb viewing area on the roof)
